Crazy, strong & loving it for August!

I did Turbo Fire HiiT 20 and Stretch 10 and plan on going for a walk with DH in the park and then to the GS's house for some spoil time.

Did my workout awhile ago, just getting around to post. D4. Today I started a 30 day yoga challenge. Loved it! Still need to work my abs.

I just finished today's workout and will now check in.

Here's today's workout:

Xtrain- D3- Burn Sets- Premix 12 Chest & Back= 36 Min
MV= 6.50
CB= 322

Xtrain-D8- Hard Strikes= 47 Min
MV= 8.50
CB= 545

Total calories burned= 867

I decided to revisit Hard Strikes to see if I liked it better. I found I do like the workout but I will sub in to modify where the jumping jacks start to become tiresome and too repetitive. The only other thing I didn't care for was the sit up/push up combo kills my wrists and tail bone. I do as many as I can before the pain starts and modify with crunches. It's a great workout and left me looking like a jumped in shower in my workout garb, so it was sweat-tac-ular! Its a super fun workout still found the same things I had to modify for reasons stated above. I think rather than avoiding this workout I will explore the many varied premixes instead. ;)

Belinda- Nicely done with STS today and good call on doing some yoga afterwards and have fun with your yoga challenge.;):)

Roxie- Awesome workout today with Turbo Fire HiiT 20 and Stretch 10. I like that you can get alot of workout in with very little time with HiiT workouts and nice job with the stretch 10 afterwards that always feels great. If you get to that walk later too that would be icing on the cake so to speak. But way better is to catch up on some spoiling GS time.:D;):cool:

Debbie- Great job with your Cardio Coach Mix today, its always a fun workout and I like hearing Sean's voice its like having an old friend's voice from above encouraging me I always look above and say thanks coach Sean.;):)

Pooped from work and little sleep this weekend. :confused:

I will do my trainers workout as soon as the ac man leaves, it crashed Sunday night so I had to call the landlord to get it fixed.
 
Today I did Lower Body workout from the Low Impact Total Body Trisets DVD. Had an excellent workout. My legs were fried. I really like this workout.

Triset #1
Wall Squats - 12's/16 reps
Lunges w/Cups - 16 reps
Side Leaning Lunges w/Cups - 16 reps
Repeat

Triset #2
Step Up w/Lunges - 12's/12 reps (4 risers)
Elevated Lunges w/Cups - 16 reps (2 risers)
Dumbbell Squats - 15's/16 reps
Repeat


Triset #3
Deadlifts - 20's/16 reps
One Legged Squats - 3's/16 reps
Stability Ball Roll-Ins - 12 reps
Repeat - did 2nd set with 15's for deadlifts and did Roll-In's with both legs instead of seperate.

So last week I took my mom to see my eye doctor. She had a thorough checkup and she found that the retina in her right eye was swollen and the macula was wrinkled. She wasn't sure why so she sent us to a specialist and we went there yesterday.

So the doctor did a bunch of scans on her eyes, put dye in her veins and did more scans. She has scar tissue on her retina which is causing the macula to wrinkle. He said he can do a simple 20 minutes operation to peel the scar tissue off her eye and that should restore about 50-60% of her eye site. :eek: He said she should not have any vision problems after the surgery other than aging issues.

He did say that she has the beginning signs of macula degeneration but she has the "dry" kind which means if you have this condition, the "dry" kind is the best to have. It is slow in making changes to her eyes and he doesn't see a reason to even worry that it will do anything to her eyesight in her lifetime.

What makes me mad about this whole thing is the eye doctor my mom used to see annually did tell me about 5 years ago that she had scar tissue on her eye. However, she didn't recommend we see a specialist or get more tests done or anything. She just told us that within 10 years my mom would be blind.

I'm glad I decided not to listen to her doctor and keep going with this issue. I knew in this day and age, they can fix eye problems. And sure enough, we have a light at the end of the tunnel finally.

Thank you for the prayers, everyone, and I will ask for more the day of her surgery. I am waiting for the scheduler to call me to make the appointment.

Ok I did the trainer workout and then walked on the TM for 30 minutes.

Week 6 Workout 1:
Plank 1 min 30 sec
Supermans 1 min
Renegade Rows with Side Plank 10 reps each side with 10lb wt these felt uncomfortable after the first set so I didn't use the wt on the planks for the second 2 sets
Clean and Press 10 reps each arm 10lbs
Goblet Squat 20 reps 20lbs
Walking Reverse Lunges 10lbs 20 reps
Repeat 3 times.

Debbie-its sad that her eye doctor didn't advise her to see a specialist I am glad she is going to get things straightened out. Good job on your workout.
 
Hi Girls!

Today I did Supercuts! Good workout!! It has EVERYTHING in it! It has that Push Up /Full Sit Up combo that's also in HS too, Nora. I modified it a bit , too. I was pooped at the end and I had worked abs yesterday. Tiring combo!

Belinda: What is the 30 day Yoga challenge? I really should add yoga into my life!

Nora: I've been trying to be better at coming here and posting! :) .... Oh my gosh, that Burn Sets is crazy good weight work! I have serious DOMS in my biceps and back from yesterday's workout!!

Debbie: Wow! What a crazy thing with your mom and her eyes! Glad you brought her to your doctor!!! .... Nice job on Trisets. That is a good one!

Roxie: 10 minute trainer looks awesome!! Good exercises in that one!

Chris- (Waves** Hello's and Hugs**) Yes, I recall Supercuts has those push up/sit up combo's they are tough. Usually by the time I get to that part of the workout I'm feeling fatigued and can't do them as fast at the others as I struggle for balance at that point and my wrists aren't always happy about the push ups. I do love Supercuts though and its a fave of the many new faves of Xtrain, which are all amazing and love all the premixes too! Yes I'm finding that I do love burn sets it is awesome and so are the other weight workouts and leg workouts in it. Glad you're enjoying Xtrain as well. Awesome job on SuperCuts that's a wicked good hits everything sort of workout in one fell swope and its very time efficient its a keeper. You did awesome on your workout way to go girlfriend!!! Bravo!!:D:);):cool:

Debbie- Congrats on a killer workout today with LIS Lower Body Trisets its a goody. I like that one too! Wow, it seems your mom seeing this specialist was very important and useful. Its wonderful that he can do a simple surgery and restore 50-60 percent of her vision that is huge. No doubt a much welcomed out come rather than be told you'll be blind. Good for you that your mom has you in her corner fighting for her good health. Hugs to you Debbie for being your mom's hero and being persistent on this. Well done on your workout today. I will keep your mom in my prayers wishing her the best with healing and getting to see better, that's got to have her feeling pretty chipper to look forward to that surgery and recovery. Hugs and blessings for you and your mom.

Chris - nice job on your workout today. I am doing a 30 day yoga challenge from youtube. The workouts are short, I don't like 45-60 min yoga sessions (once in awhile I don't mind).

Nora - I didn't know there is a CrossFire- Premix- Less Impact wo? Did it come with the 12 dads set or the 15 dvd set? WTG, girlfriend:D

I walked on the TM for 35 mins this morning and this afternoon headed to dentist for that root canal I was suppose to have done before DH lost his job.

Chris- WOW Leaner legs and abs today for your workout!:eek::cool: That is seriously one awesome workout, high fives on that one girlfriend. Yes the sit and stands are evil, aren't they LOL! I sort of mix it up one week to the next with one body part per day or do chest, back and shoulders on say a monday and then do legs on wednesday and friday do Bi's and Tri's. The next week I might aim for one body part per week it just depends. I am really loving Xtrain and Les Mills Combat seem to be the best dvd's and no doubt Cathe's new ones I pre-ordered will be as well and that can be said of everything cathe as well but that is a given.;):D Way to rock your workout today girlfriend awesome job!;):):cool:

Today I did the Upper Body Premix of Low Impact Total Body Trisets workout. Had a really good workout but this one has some exercises in it that irritate my shoulder. So I need to be careful and I was. This is what I did:

Triset #1
Soldier Plank Pushups - 16 reps
Shoulder Incline Press - 10's/16 reps
Lying Triceps Extension on Ball - 8's/16 reps
**Repeat** but only did regular pushups and used 8's for Shoulder Incline on 2nd set

Triset #2
Cross-Over Leg Pushups - 16 reps
Incline Shoulder Arches - 5's/15 reps
Plank Kickbacks - 5#/12 reps
**Repeat** but only did regular pushups again and then dropped to 3's with the incline shoulder arches for 2nd set

Triset #3
Alternate Chest Flyes - 12's/16 reps
External Rotation Lateral Raise - 5's/10 reps
See Saw Pushups - 10 reps
**Repeat**

Triset #4
One-Arm Rows w/Leg Lifts - 12#/15 reps
Incline Hammer Curls w/Twist - 12's/16 reps
Ball Crunches - 8#/16 reps
**Repeat**

Triset #5
Stability Ball Pullovers - 12#/15 reps
Alternate Curls - 12's/16 reps
Ball Exchange - 20 reps
**Repeat** but dropped weight to 10's on 2nd set of alternate curls.

Rear Delt Flyes - 3's/16 reps
Concentration Curls - 12#/15 reps
Reverse Crunches - 32 reps

I like how this workout ads in ab work with the trisets. Then you don't have to worry about getting them done.

Good Morning,

Rough night mouth hurt and then this morning we had another thunderstorm and its still raining. The front half of my tooth broke off while he was doing the root canal so it really feels weird. I haven't decided what workout to do it was suppose to be a crossfitsh workout but think I might need to wt until tomarrow. I ended up doing KCM's Power Sculpt not the best choice but thats what pain pills are for.

Debbie-good job with your workout and modifying so you didn't hurt yourself.

Chris-the workouts I am doing were specifically designed for me by my trainer I had last year using equipment I have here at home. She really knows what she is doing.

Nora-I walked before the dentist I didn't want to do anything after.
