convince me not to buy BSS 4

Hi everyone!

I am really weakening for this one! I was dead set against it after all the BSS 3 troubles and I kind of felt I had "graduated" from the Firm to Cathe! But I feel like I'm reading some good reviews. What do people here think? I feel like I have too many exercise videos! My money could probably be better spent, right? I feel so guilty! I just bought Musclemax and KPC/Legs and Glutes last week!!! I'm an addict! What can I say?? I am weakening..... Stop me before I buy again! Help me!!

Hi Janey,

I don't know if this will help or not. I have Cathe's HC series. This is more than enough to keep me in shape and motivated. I run and walk also. I refuse to buy another tape, because really I don't need another DVD. Cathe is all I need to keep in shape. I can understand if you are bored, but if you just purchased new DVD's that is probably not the case. The other DVD's will be there when you get really bored. There is always going to be a new tape that looks appealing.

Hi Janey,

I waited to get the BSS3 till I saw it at Target and gave in. Yeah they were fun workouts but you know I only did them a few times and they been collecting dust along with all my other Non-Cathe workouts. Its because they just aren't effective. I don't feel completely worked.
Cathe workouts are far more superior. I'd invest money in workouts I'd make progress with and would use regularly. I've come so far in just a few months with Cathe. I think you should expand your Cathe library. I'm glad I have! I'm very happy with every Cathe workout I have and I use them daily!

Hi Janey,
I LOVE Cathe and think she is the BEST, but there are days when I just don't have the energy to do a Cathe, and then I will grab one of my other dvds. (This happened to me yesterday) Instead of not working out I pulled out Body Sculpt and I tell you I am sore today. I enjoy my firm's I think they are a nice change of pace from time to time. I am thinking of doing a AWT rotation once I get done with my Hardcore.

Good Luck!!

there are many people here who are ex firmies who will help you, but i still use the FIRM..and i love the workouts for less intense days...the new step system is VERY sturdy and works well with BSS3 and 4. .....but dont worry, there are many people here will be able to sway you away....if you are a member of the FIRM forum..ya know the deal ends tomorrow!}( }( ;)

Janey I bought BSS4 (as part of the FIRM Believer's deal) and I agree w/ everyone else on the FIRM forum, the new step is really sturdy and will work well w/ the other 3 systems.

But as for the DVD workouts themselves, they definitely do not compare in intensity to Cathe. Don't get me wrong; the workouts are fun but relatively easy. As others have said here, I use the FIRM during my light days or when I'm too tired to workout to Cathe. The FIRM is also a nice change of pace after I've spent weeks lifting heavy and I want to lighten up to recover.

You bought some really tough Cathe DVDs so if I were you, I'd hold off on buying BSS4. You'll be dissapointed working out w/ Cathe first and then realizing the FIRM is easy compared to her. By the way, if you wait, BSS4 will be in Target/WalMart before long and the price will be really cheap by then.

Check out my review, and others' comments, on the following link.
It might interest you to know that there is an "Advanced" thread on the FF, and folks there are asking for more intense workouts.

One complaint is that the sequencing while doing weight work, while good, doesn't allow for weight changes well. You'll go from doing something that you can lift heavy on to something that requires less weight (or vice versa), but the instructor goes right into the moves without changing weights. This leaves you stopping and starting quite a bit.

The cardio is familiar from previous BSS's, but with much of the speed and intensity taken out.

After I tried the first three, I shelved them until today. I did Allie's abs after Imax Extreme; it did give me a nice little burn in there but it took 25 minutes. I can get a better burn in 8 minutes at the end of a Cathe workout.

Thanks everyone! I knew if I asked here, I could get some good advice. I too have a bunch of Firms from my pre-Cathe days that I like to do when I need a little break. I think I will just stick with them for lighter, intermediate type days and save my money for more Cathe!!
