Confused and discouraged

I hope someone can give me some insight and suggestions on this . In march I torn a muscle in my foot and was not able to work out for at least a month then after that i was only allowed to do no impact and weight work. I am now back at full capacity and have been for 1 month. My eating has been 80% clean and now i'm really buckling down . Prior to my injury I weighed 119 with 23% bf. Well yesterday I wanted to know the damage that was done since my injury and what i had to work with. My weight came in at 114 but my body fat was 29% . I have noticed that my clothes are tighter and i am flabber. I always thought that if a person gained weight both weight and bf would go up. Any suggestions on how to lower my bf? i'm currently doing 4-5 days of cardio and 5 days of weights and 1-2 days of yoga. Thank you so much

im only 5ft . i use a bf scale and i know it's not 100% but my clothes barely fit. i lift heavy, but not until my injury did i have this problem. I just don't want to think a couple months off because of injury has ruined years of hard work x(

I had surgery in march . I was back upto normal in 2 months.
It will come right back off . Don't fret.
I was all worried about it too. I couldn't wait to get back to it.
It took me about a month to get back to where i was before. I am still working on the abs. I don't have my strength in them yet.
You could not have lost that much in a couple of months unless you ate bags of potatoe chips all day.
I don't always look at the scale. It is staying the same and my clothes are still getting bigger, so i must be doing something right.
Just keep it up and you will see...............

Don't overworkout though.... You will burn out.

One of the benefits of being a devoted exerciser is when injury happens or you just get sidetracked, you can get back to where you were much more quickly than a beginner exerciser. So don't be discouraged! Make your plan and give yourself four to six weeks to get where you were. It could be sooner or later but that's a pretty good time frame. I am an apple and an ecto so, though I am slight of build, I have to really focus to get a flat belly and to build muscle. I have a plan where I do moderate cardio and heavy strength followed by moderate strength and high intensity cardio. Less cardio and more weight allows me to not burn so many calories that I sacrifice being able to put down good muscle mass. When the muscle is on, it's simple to maintain it with lighter weight and to burn the blubber with more cardio. Although I hate circuit training, I like to do one circuit workout per week when my strength work is moderate. Slow and Heaavy, Gym Style and the Pyramids are wonderful for the muscle building phase. Muscle Endurance, MIS and Bocy Max Upper body and Leaner Legs or Legs and Glutes do the moderate weight phase beautifylly as well. For my moderate cardio I love SB and RS and the SJP 45 minute cardio premix. I also enjoy all of the CTX cardio options for moderate cardio workouts Kick Max, MIC and any of the Imaxes are effective for the big burn and running is THE best option for leaning out that you can get if you are able to run and enjoy doing so. You know what you want. Keep the diet clean and get to work and you will be back in shape with your body fat reduced in no time! :)

You seem to be getting in quite a bit of both cardio and weights. Even if you are eating clean, are you eating correctly for you?

Getting enough calories and the right combo of foods at each meal? (Protein and complex carbs each time?)

Just a suggestion as to what may change it up for you. If I don't eat enough when working out that much I end up at a standstill. Just varying my caloric intake (I typically eat about 95% clean)will just drop the weight. Sometimes I even need to cut back a bit on the exercise plan - I just play with the cardio and weights until I start to see a change.

Check out some of the other posts for more information on how to "shock" your system into a "change mode".

Don't get discouraged - working out is healthy whether you are accomplishing your "optimum physique" or not - mentally and physically.

Good luck ! :)

Hey there. It seems to me that you lost weight because you lost muscle from lack of weight training. You gained body fat because of lack of cardio. I don't know what combo will work for you. You have to play around with it. I would say 2-3 full body weight work outs each week along with 4-6 days of cardio at 30-45 mins each. That is where I would start off if I were you. Keep track of your stats weekly and make adjustments to your work outs as needed. Try to eat even cleaner than you already are if you can...and drink LOTS of water!

Hope I helped some!:)
