Clean & Tidy - Sat 6/30

Good morning & happy weekend!

The fam wants buttermilk pancakes and sausage for breakfast this morning so wish me luck! I'm going to try to eat my banana and 9-grain bread.....

The rest of the day is going to be crazy, but I really really want to keep it clean. I've been doing good and I don't want to blow it simply because of the weekend. This morning DH and I are going to his deceased great uncle's house to clean it out some more. We've been doing this for about 6 months now and it's taking forever. He was a complete pack rat and you truly can't imagine what he hoarded. The upside to this is that we're working in the basement today. I'll be hauling loads of junk to put in the dumpster that we have in the driveway. Last time I made 212 trips up the stairs...that counts as cardio/leg, huh?:)

Dinner tonight is going to be so challenging. We're going to DH's parents house and they are ordering in pizza from this great Italian place. MIL will have veggies and fruit but they always FREAK that I "don't eat enough! A bird couldn't survive on that!" Yes, I'm surviving quite fine, thank you! I hate the pressure to eat more than you want to.

Grr, today is going to be hard, but thanks for the motivation. I'll let you know how I do.

PS - Still hoping for the granola bar recipe.....!:7
 
Good morning Kate and all tidy eaters who follow!

Oh, Kate, I completely understand about family pressure. I get that from both of my grandmothers. They are both about 50 lbs overweight, both are on blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds and one is pre-diabetic. Yeah, that's really where I want to see myself *rolls eyes*. Also, because I don't sit down and gorge myself at one meal, especially if it isn't the healthiest of selections, they think I don't eat anything. Oh, if they only knew the volume of food that I consume in a day! It can really wear on you to always have to justify what you eat.

This morning is off to a fantastic start...I got to workout for the first time in more than two weeks YAY!!!!!!! I've found my favorite new cardio, the Terminator Imax Extreme. Oh, man, was that a blast!

B - Spanish egg white omelette, steel cut oats with blueberries
S - cottage cheese and a banana
L - salad, hardboiled egg whites with guac, apple
S - nat PB on flax seed bread, asparagus
D - chipotle turkey meatloaf, spaghetti squash, asparagus, don't know about dessert...going to try to skip that.

See, I really do eat :p, LOL!

Kate, good luck with your day. It certainly does sound like a challenge! My Dad and his SO are visiting from Florida. Well, about 11 last night he wanted something to eat. He was scrouging around looking for cookies and cake. He couldn't find anything. I finally talked him into an apple(big basket of fruit on the counter). Then, he complained because it wasn't cold! Oh man, family, you gotta love'em!

Today began with steel cut oatmeal. I can guarantee that the rest of the day will not be good because of the party, but I'm OK with that!

I did IMAX 1 to burn some calories!

Oh Kate, I do feel your frustraion. It would be inevitable for me not to sample something. Try to hang in there though, and remember we're here for you.

I'm in the process of printing out my menus for this week.

So far today consisted of an egg, whole wheat toast with canola oil based butter, and java:)

Morning Everyone! Grrr....(that would be the PMS monster on my back)

Kate,You know what you could do? Take a piece of pizza, swipe off the cheese and toppings and load it up with veggies? The white flour isn't ideal, but without the cheese and meat toppings it would at least be tidy? And your family wouldn't even notice. Just say you are lactose intolerant!:) That will encourage them to start talking about their own health woes and they will forget all about what you are eating!:) You know how folks love to talk about their health issues right?

To the rest of you all, have a great day and weekend. I am sore from last night, did the "Squeeze" workout. I think I will try either Drill Max or BodyMax-- I have not done the whole workout yet, but will see how I feel.

Foodwise, I already ate a bunch of cherries-my relatives send them from Washington state and boy are they good.
I will try and be tidy this weekend, concentrate on my veggies, the last thing I want during that PMS week!x(

I have a houseful of guest flying in from out of town (business on the weekends, fun stuff) so there will be lots of food around, maybe I will leave and go stand in line for the new iPhone to keep my mind off of it!

Kate-I definitely think running up and down stairs is a workout!!! I think Tneah's idea about the pizza is great!

I am not doing too well on my eating today. I did the CCPP Challenge (I ended up logging in over 8 miles) and afterwards, my stomach started churning. It was kind of upset yesterday, so I am thinking it was something I ate. Anyway, I had a couple of chips (soy and flaxseed) and hummus, but that's it so far. I took some Pepto and am feeling better. We are going to friends' for dinner and I am not sure what they will have so I don't know what myevening will look like.

Last night, I treated myself to some peanut M&M's. I was able to keep it in check and not eat too many. I definitely want to have some built-in treats on the weekends!

Wendi-great news about your pony!!! Don't listen to your family...you look great and it's because you do what you do!

Tneah-yeah...you just let us know how that iPhone is!!!

Cheryl, welcome!! i'm so happy you joined roomie! Its such a nice group.
Its a holiday weekend here in Canada! So Monday is a holiday. DH and i had counselling today, which usually means bad eating, but not terrible...just a bit cluttered :)
All was well til i left couples counselling and we stopped at a bulk store. I got some sugar free chocolate almonds, and well, that's that.
workout was good though, kickbox, and Slim and lean, abs. Tomorrow were going to the apple pie farm, yeah, setting up for failure or what.

Hi everyone,

I haven't been able to check in for awhile due to visitors, but my eating has been clean and tidy - also due to the fact that I have a very sore throat and this morning it has broken into a cold. Anyway, hopefully it won't last too long as I have been unable to workout since last Tuesday (due to the visitors, whom leave today). I wanted to start working out again tomorrow but will have to see how I feel I guess. Maybe some yoga or something light.

It is 5.00a.m. here. Couldn't sleep because of my cold, so thought I would take the time to check what has been happening before the day begins. Don't know what I will eat today yet. Will be back tonight. Kim:)
