Clean eating?

Okay, I have been working out six days a week since my 6 week post-partum check-up in late July. I have lost 20 pounds, would like to lose 15-20 more. It seems like I will lose pounds quickly (5-6 in two to three weeks) then stay at the new weight for a while (two to three weeks) then more will come off. I have "cleaned up my diet" as far as cutting out all soda, cake, chips. If I have cookies, I will eat one serving size of oreos which is 160 calories.

I would like to lose more weight faster, not stay at the same for weeks while still working my butt off. I have heard many of you talk about clean eating, is that a specific diet or is it just not eating anything that tastes yummy, lol, like cake for example.

Do any of you indulge once in a while, once a week, month? ;) What?

Clean eating is eating things in their natural state. Such as going from apple pie to apple sauce to just an apple. I don't eat super clean b/c if I tell myself I can't have something then I want it even more, so why bother?
When I was losing my baby weight I really tried to watch the sweets (cause thats my downfall) after all of the baby weight was gone, I started to indulge again.
Don't be to hard on yourself. I know alot of people say, it took 9 monthes to gain the weight, it should take 9 monthes to lose it....blah...blah..there was no way I was listening to that!;) But like yourself, I would lose one week, not lose anything the next (having to stay motivated) but would always lose the week after. The weight will come off and you are doing good!
So you keep a food journal? Alot of people recommend joting everything down that they eat b/c sometimes we eat more then we really think we do. Also, watching portion sizes is a big thing!
Good luck!

A food journal is an essential component for weight loss, IMO. Someone here recently posted a link to thedailyplate.com. GREAT site for monitoring your intake and output. Give it a try & good luck to you. :)

thanks

Thanks for the input ladies. I actually do have a food/workout journal. I write down everything I eat, and the workout I did each day. I guess I am just a bit impatient. I think clean eating may be a bit too extreme for me,. I will stick with what I am doing. Staying motivated this time around has not been so difficult b/c I look forward to the Cathe workouts. Can't wait to buy more, but have to budget for it ;)

Thanks again and Happy Valentine's Day!

I never knew what "clean eating" was either. Now I know! What I do is keep a food journal. I write down everything right down to a cracker with cheese. But not a piece of gum. It really helps me track of all my calories. So I know that if I ate to many crackers with cheese, that would be in my journal and I would know that's the reason why I didn't lose weight that week. It's all right there in black and white.
