Chin-Up Check-In Mon 4.10

>Y'all have daily donut photos????
>
>Who knew?:p

Hey Shelley,

I've caught these gals red handed...talking about donuts, teasing each other about donuts, posting pictures of donuts, forcing newbies to supply the donuts, STEALING donuts from a house of God:eek:...it's really something, I'm tellin ya! :p :7

Michele

I had to reply to this one because the picture caught my eye!!!! I took last week off from everything, including chin-ups, but started up today. I did my usual first set of 10 unassisted, and then did several lesser sets of 5's, 4's, 3's, etc. I may do more this afternoon.

New rule: no chin-ups, no check-in! You have to at least attempt one or think about attempting one at some point in the future. If you can do one already, you'll have to work at increasing your reps, but please note that if you can do one, I'm not speaking to you.:p :p :p

Well, maybe you can stop in and chat, but you can only have a donut if you agree to the above.

Honeybunch, the only reason I'm speaking to you is because you convinced me to get a chin-up bar in the first place.

And please do remember, Miz SOOOOOOOOOOOOsan, that I started at age 55 with this chinup stuff, so just think what you'll be able to do at my age!!!! You should be up to 50 by then!!!! One armed, yet, I'm sure!

Yikes, I think we are being hijacked!!! :p

Soooooooooooosan, you're not speaking to me??? ;(

HB you are such an inspiration!!! I am truly in awe of you.

Now, lets see, checking in. Let me just say my arms feel like lead right now. Just finished Back and Biceps. This one is so hard for me. Doing chinups after working the biceps is so hard!! I did 2.5, 1,1,1,1 unassisted chinups; 4 sets of 4 negatives(don't ask what count -to exhausted to know :p ); and 1 set of 3 neg wide grip pull ups.

Oh and I was looking in the mirror after my workout (ya know striking a pose and flexing) with my hands on my hips and I saw this area on my back. I was like oh no more back fat x( !!! Nope, it's my lats :D. I can finally see them. It's so cool to see positive changes.

Have a good evening!!
Catherine

HB, I think you and I are a different breed. I've got the tenacity but not the body type. You've got both.

Catherine, I guess I'll speak to you since you're always so sweet and encouraging. (Plus you're pretty darn funny.) You are very strong to be able to do chin-ups after Back & Biceps. And you've increased by 1/2 rep! Yippee!!!:) :) :) The "no more back fat" is the icing on the cake. You should be real proud of yourself.:)

Wheewwwwww!!! Thanks Soooooooooooosan, glad to know we're on speaking terms ;-) Thanks for the compliments by the way. I think all the ladies on here ROCK!!!!!

Catherine

>Briee, WOW 20 sec negatives!!!! You've been working so
>hard. Careful not to overtrain ;-)

>Melody, Please let us know how the Dick's adventure goes in
>Atlanta!

>X, Thanks for the "jelly" :p

>Catherine

Well all you gals, we had a BLAST at Dick's, of course. We actually bought each of the boys a set of golf clubs today (so they wouldn't throw us out) -- the skinny strong things outgrew their other ones.

And yes, we climbed the rock wall, slept in the tents, tried to light the camping lanterns, putted on the green, ran thru all the clothing racks, ransacked the "open door" drink machines, ate a few protein bars, paddled a couple of kayaks, shuffled all the shoes around, modeled the hats, mixed up all the dumbbells, punched the punching bags, bounced on the rebounder, ran on the treadmills, did whatever you do on the elipticals, pretended to be Lance Armstrong on the stationary bikes, squished our butts on the bosu, cast a few fishing rods, sat on a fake wolf, dribbled the basketballs, lounged on the ab lounger, then there was the incident with 3 DS and the ladies' sports bras, AND OF COURSE DID OUR CHINUPS, and then used the bathrooms.

P.S. We also PAID for the sets of golf clubs, which at those prices entitled us to all of the above.;-) :+

What do you mean HB convinced you to get the chinup bar Soooooooooooooosan? I thought that was ME. Oh no wait a minute....I wanted you to get a pullup bar - technicalities:p :p :p

Hey Catherine...how about those corncob pullups in Back and Biceps. Just did that this morning and I do believe this would be the most efficient use of your time spent eating donuts at the top of the bar. Moving in one swift motion from the right to the left and back again (unless your left handed and you therefore would go from left to right, but no matter)...certainly makes for an overall lat burn while covering a wide range of toppings ie, glazed, chocolate, maple and lets not forget the ever popular candy sprinkles. Just be sure to place a napkin directly under your bar to expedite cleanup.

You know we do have to keep the donuts ever present in this thread or else people will think we are too tough and not join this elite group of women who have unnatural tendencies toward hanging bars of steel. }( }( }( :p

Hey Sooooooooooooosan...I did two one handed pullups this morning and they are NOT that big of a deal. You are really pulling yourself up by both hands - the only thing impressive is the "grip" strength in the one hand. Weird thing is I couldn't do any with my left hand and was just fine with the right...hmmmmmm. If you can do one pullup...I'm sure you could do this too as long as you have grip strength. I thought they were really weird...I've honestly never heard of them until you told me about them. I'm sure you have all kinds of interesting variations and you're just holding out on us. You are so creative!!!
