CHEETAHS...tuesday, fit and strong!

Good morning Cheetahs! This morning the kids and I woke up to snow on the ground. I promised myself the next time we would get a nice snowfall and DS has a snow day from school I would take off work. However, I can’t keep my promise this week because my office manager is on vacation and I’m still battling this dreaded head cold/flu. I think I had the flu last night because I had the chills and 102.5 fever last night. However I think during the night I sweated it out and am now on the upswing. Of course I thought I was on the upswing 2 other times this past weekend before it hit me again. Let’s hope this dreaded sickness will be over soon. I miss running. It is interfering with my HM training.

Lorie – Hello Ms. Early Bird! You were up early. Sorry to hear you are experiencing pain again. I hope your doctor can figure out what the problem is. I love the idea of having shirts made with our cheetah names for the Nike HM/marathon. It is a great idea even for those that aren’t doing the race too. Great price on the new crockpot! How was the soup?

Wendi – Don’t worry about the personals! We are always here when you have any free time. You are one busy woman lately. Healing vibes coming your way on your infection. I love the Disney script for your siggy. Enjoy your time with your SO.

Wendy – Have fun setting a skiing date! I’ve never been. Maybe one day. It is scary starting a new career, but you are an awesome trainer and there are so many clients missing out on what you have to offer to them. So, it takes a week for MDB to get the coaches situated. Maybe I should sign up with you as my coach now to make sure I am actually assigned to you when I order P90X+. What do you think? BTW, Great rotation this week.

Thomasina – I’m glad you are starting to feel better from your 24 hour flu bug. A ski trip on Super Bowl Sunday sounds good. Mine and DH’s teams (Broncos (mine) & Steelers (DH)) aren’t in it this year so I won’t be watching either. Thanks for the updated cheetah list. Per yours & Sunny’s suggestion, I think I will go with Super Mom as my official Cheetah name. I value being a mom more than a Hoosier fan. Great job getting in your workouts. How’s BFL going?

Sunny – Your work projects sound very interesting. It is great that you are educating these young ladies on fitness. The biggest loser challenge sounds like a great motivator for them. It is amazing how weight can alter a person’s self esteem. I bet your MIL was glad you were there for her.

Carole – Enjoy your workout today.

Judy – Welcome back from FL. I hope you had a wonderful time.

Christine – I love the pics from your Dad’s house. Very beautiful! How are you able to get any work done with such beautiful scenary? My eyes would always be looking out the window.

Cathy – Yeah on doing 4 assisted chinups and 2 pullups! Way to go! Enjoy your dinner with your BFF.

Shelly – Enjoy your run today! Sorry you didn’t sleep well last night.

Hi Jackie & Dallas! I’ll BBL.

Dallas – More enabling – I need to get All Body Cardio. I also want Iron Core! The Metronome is not necessary to start, although it does help keep a rhythm. I think in the beginning getting the actual stance down is much more important. Then as you get better you can download songs for your iPod that are specific beats – you can use those instead.

Shelly – Sorry you had a terrible sleeping night last night! How’d the run go? And now you Dallas are enabling me for MORE workouts. How fun! Absolutely – I adore Carole and she and I NEVER cheer for the same teams! It’s a game. It’s actually North Carolina – but no worries. :p I’ll be here through Saturday. I’m bound and determined to stay on track today. I was making another mistake – I always eat 4 meals, but I was only eating 3, and when the visitors stay past 9PM I’m STARVED! So I eat. I can have a glass or two of wine with no worries, but I have to eat before that or the choices I make after are not very good. :p So, I’m making sure I eat my four meals today.

Sunny – Is MIL still in pain? That is tough! *Sending healing vibes* So sorry you missed your iTread! What a pain! I hate running on a TM without it, too! Bring the boys down one day if you get some time! We’d love to have you!

Jackie – No wine for me tonight! As I told Shelly, I’m usually pretty good and can handle a glass or two without wrecking my diet, but I need to plan better. Tonight, though, I’m not planning on having any. If anyone comes by, I’ll stick to water. Cool on iTread 13! Good job at running with sore legs! I think I’d like that one. :p

Kristi – I so hope you feel better soon! That is tough especially when you cannot take the time to recuperate! I have to bury myself in the office to get work done. I’ve been busy today, too! Ick!

Well, got HLX done. I don’t know why, but every time I plan to do that workout, I cringe because it’s Hi/Lo and every time I finish it I think, “What FUN!” I really enjoyed it today. I am still in my workout clothes. When dad takes a sponge bath and shaves, I’m planning to tackle Core Synergistics – at least part of it. He’s doing well. The PT was here yesterday and was very surprised at how well he was walking around. He’s in a little more pain today, but it’s a combo of increased activity and the weather. He took a pain pill so he’s a little out of it, but he’s coming around. I got Hi/Lo Dome AND Slo Mo today! So, I will be putting my rotation together for next week! I’m very excited!! Might end up as an All Amy rotation – just for a few weeks. Enjoy!

Hola Chica-Cheetahs!:D

Well, it looks like I survived another morning with the rug rats!:p :7 Lunch is done and I'm chillin' out a bit while Joey watches the Backyardigans before nap time. I'm training my BF and her friend later on-should be fun. :)

Christine: LOL, sounds like you've got some difficult choices on how to spend your leisure time while you are in NC! Will you be meeting up with Sunny at all? I thought I read that you 2 were going to try to meet! That would be sooo cool! I love S&H over all and enjoyed the leg work out but found it surprisingly easy. I am going to heavy up this week on the pre-exhaust sets and see if that helps. I also have to find the best method for me when it comes to the plies. My hands were not enjoying holding a heavy DB in that particular position she uses. I am going to try holding 2 lighter DB's in another position the next time. I'll find something that works I am sure!

Carole: I actually like pairing up leg work with running so long as I am not training for a race or anything but if you think it would be helpful not to do it that way for S&H then this is my alternate plan:

t) back n kenpo+
w) chest n planks
r) tri's n run
f) bi's n abs
s) legs n cardio of choice
s) shoulders n abs/core+
m) yoga or rest

Thoughts? :) As for your u/b DOMS from endurance lifting...is it because your body isn't used to it right now or has endurance lifting always given you more DOMS?

Dallas: Great workout! Hope to see ya later!

Shelly: Sorry about the crummy nite's sleep. Hope you can catch a nap today if you need one!

Sunny: Yes, running on a TM w/o an ipod is TORTURE!!! ITA!

Jackie: My goal is to do yoga one time per week. I am easy going about how long the session is. This helps keep me going back for more. If I had to do 90 minutes of yoga (like Yoga X in full) every single week I think I'd shoot myself! LOL I can handle 60 minutes every couple of weeks and I HAVE done Yoga X in it's entirety maybe twice. It's not too bad. Just not something I want to do constantly. I seem to prefer 30 mins of yoga the best!

Kristi: TYVM re the trainer thing. :) If you are like me and want your workouts ASAP when you are ready to buy them then I would definately get the coach switch out of the way NOW! It obviously doesn't cost you anything and this way when you are ready to order you won't have to wait for that to be done! Give me the word if you want to get that taken care of now and I'll PM the info on how to get your coach switched to me. Thanks!

Off to grab my java!

ETA: How could I forget to tell y'all! I ordered Amy's Kickbox Xtreme and pre-ordered Tracey's Strike Zone work out last night!}(

Hello Again!

I ended up doing 4D legs and Rodney Yee sports yoga for running. It's not the best running stretch, so I added a bit more on my own. I always forget how nice and short, but effective the 4D weight work is? Don't you all agree? Do you ladies add anything to the weight work?

Lorie ~ Did you get to take a nap at least?!?! I hate when I have nights like that! Good luck at your appointment! I had a cortisone shot on the top of my foot. It really wasn't too bad....really.

Jackie ~ I posted them over at the yahoo group. I slept in too y-day and it felt wonderful! Love your new siggy! Great job on your workouts!

Cathy ~ Thanks for the help with the font & color changing. I'll have to try it out soon. Way to go on the 4 chin ups and pull ups! I need to work on that!

Christine ~ LOL! on the Giant's coach comment. Yeah, he definitely needed a scarf or something! Sorry for the enabling! I got the Iron Core DVDs and kettlebells with a Christmas gift card at Target! They were on sale too!! Double bonus! I bought the 15# one. It appears that Amy's presale for the kettlebell is up on her site. Well, it says "coming soon", but that may have changed by now. That kettlebell works the core in a whole 'nother way!! }( Glad your dad is doing well! Sounds like he has a lot of friends! :) I'll miss you cute little tail wagging dog too :(

Shelly ~ Sorry you had a rough night too. :( I just ordered All Body Attack when I pre-ordered a CIA workout from Advancedworkouts.com. I cannot buy one more DVD. Amy's kettlebell is my last pre-order for awhile. You're right about Sharon. The first time I did it, I was like...ok, you want me to do what!?!?! ha ha!! Have fun with the run & S&H! :) Thanks for the info about that metronome. :) Whew! I'd rather get a Garmin! ;)

Posh ~ Thanks about the Garmin thread. I feel like I never visit the OD board anymore, so feel free to point out any good threads! :)

Carole ~ How did your soup turn out? I have all the stuff to make an Italian recipe, I forgot the name. I get sore from endurance workouts too.

Wendi ~ Love your Disney siggy too! Love that place! Wish we were going this year. :( I didn't see that font, I certainly would have used it too. :) I'll keep you in my prayers that the antibiotic is all you'll need!

Wendy ~ Yep, it's the deep freeze here too. Didn't leave the house today....yet. May try and squeeze a chiro in when dh gets home though. Now what kind of certification did you get? I'm actively pursuing this. That's funny about surviving another day with the rug rats comment. You must have the patience of steel!

Sunny ~ Sounds like you had a busy day y-day! That was super sweet of you to take care of your MIL. Yeah, no treadmill work would be complete without Grace. That's a bummer you left it at home. :( It's work just getting to the gym.

Judy ~ Way to go on the compliment from your friend! You should be Buff Cheetah!! :7 I have to say baseball caps and pony tails are my fav. It's so easy. However, staying home with the kids make that an easy option. Stacy London, is that her name? Would have a field day with me, I'm sure. LOL!

Kristi ~ Glad you're on the up swing! You'll need a cruise when the officer manager gets back!! ;)

Hi Lori and Linda! Any one I may have forgotten...

Have a great day!

ETA: Mystery siggy! LOL! Cathy, did that back thing and nada??? oh well...it worked earlier.

Shelly - We have got to stop meeting like this. :)Sorry you had slept badly last night. Yes, we know that will not interfere with you getting a good run in. Hope you had a good one. Like your siggy. These youngsters are hard to keep up with sometimes.

Sunny - Bummer on leaving that ipod at home. Hope you found some good cardio to make up for it.

Kristi - Girl, it sounds like you need some time off work. Hope the flu bug lets go.

Christine - I'm trusting you not to have that wine tonight. Glad you enjoyed your workout. Glad your dad is continuing to improve too. You will love Hi/Lo Dome and Slo Mo.

Wendy - S&H Legs was too easy for you? You go girl! I think I did Yoga X one time thru. 30 minutes or less is enough for me too. Have a good workout session with BF. More new workouts? I'm covering my eyes. :p

Dallas - I don't add any extra to the 4D weight work. I like that they're short and I can add cardio. I'll look for the pics at Yahoo.

Almost going home time.

Jackie

arghhhhhhh, doesn't look like i will be able to workout todayx( x( . why oh why did i leave my ipod at home.

dallas- where did you pre-order bento's kettlebell workout? did you see tracey's new ones}(

wendy- i pre-ordered tracey's circuit zone and strike zone! i wish i would have known you want KBX, i would have sent it to you. i just sold it on ebay.

jackie- i love your new siggie..see you are so chic that you even has a chic siggie, lol.

christine- poor mil, she is still here asleep in bed. she had to go back to the dentist this morning because she was still bleeding heavilyx( . thanks for the vibes. how long are you there? geesh, i would love to come down this weekend but ds#1 has his last bball game(was supposed to be last saturday) this saturday and just bought home a bday invite to a hannah montanah party on sunday:eek: i really hope we can get it together before you leave even if it is a very brief visit.

Hey cheetahs...

Wow, I am shocked to hear on the news that Heath Ledger was found dead in NYC.

I haven’t made up my mind yet about which u/b workout to do…to my surprise, I not only have DOMS in my back but it’s settled into my bi’s, tri’s, and forearms, too – WTH? *lol* I have been doing pull-ups & chinups once a week for about 2 months now – why am I in so much pain today? I find it odd. Did legs yesterday, so I don’t want to do them back-to-back. Therefore, I’m thinkin’ I might go with Squeeze u/b rather than heavy weights. Does that make sense? Advise me if you have a better idea, please!

Lorie :: I have thought about doing Disney as my 1st mary in ’09…I wouldn’t mind a cheetah sweatshirt, either…I am in need of a new sweatshirt or two. The only potential problem with having our individual names on the back might be the cost…I do like the neti pot…I can’t access Facebook at school, either…Actually, I’ve never tried, but I’m sure it’s blocked…I am usually on-the-go, anyway, while at work.

Judy :: True, Facebook is predominantly used by college kids and folks in their 20s, but there are plenty of adults on it, too. And actually, privacy settings are in place so that if you *were* tempted, your kids would never even know you are on there. WOO-HOO…mistaken for a teenager. Nice! :7

Wendy :: I like the looks your rotation this week.

Christine :: Ooh, wine & goodies? If you need help with that, we could expedite the cheetah GTG. :7

Dallas :: you sure do pack in a helluva workout! I’m with you on the 4DS split weights…at one point, I switched to the premixes, and they quickly became my preference…man, what DOMS they gave me!

Shelly :: sorry about the poor night’s sleep…LOVE the new siggy!

Jackie :: Yeah, she has valid reason to be cranky…she’s been sick every day…I’m joining you in the sore legs. Hammies this time.

Sunny :: sorry about the forgotten iPod…Poor MIL. Six was a lot to be removed all at once! I hope the bleeding is under control now.

Kristi :: Hope you feel better!

Misery has enough company. Dare to be happy. ~ VW ad

i hope you guys forgive me for the lack of personals but i am absolutely knackered! i never did get a nap, then i ran 6.5 as well as did CC3 (i wanted to do the same exact w/o that i did the day before) and then had to leave to meet my friend. he took x-rays and really, really doesn't think there is any stress fracture in my hip as he didn't see it on x-ray nor upon examination. i don't even have pain in the area that one would typically have. he gave me two cortisone shots. he said he really doesn't like to give two but there were two areas that were very painful. the shot going in was fine but the medicine going in burned like HECK! the area is pretty sore right now but i think that's from the injections. of course, he said it's an "overuse injury" (who, me?!?!). he diagnosed me with bursitis and piriformis syndrome. i am going to physical therapy for the PS.

GET THIS...i can't do ANY cArdio for the rest of the week. not even the ext which doesn't bother me. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif the worst part is, I GOT MY HRM TODAY AND I CAN"T EVEN USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif

after my appointment, we went to lunch. gotta love a doc that doesn't make you pay for the visit AND takes you out to lunch!!!

i am going to go crazy not being able to do cardio. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif i am so glad i got a good session in today. i will be doing lots of weights...

anyway, http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_20.gif

Howdy Cheetahs!

I just finished Cook Max (I cooked for the week...lots of good stuff!) and am settling in for a nice quiet, early night. I am quite tuckered at the moment. SO and I had a lovely day just chillin and enjoying each other's company without having to feel like we had an agenda for the day. It was so nice!

Thanks again for all the positive vibes! I'm starting to feel like the Elephant Man (er, Cheetah) with all these lumps and bumps lol! I want to catch up on personals tonight because I want to hit the gym early for a 6-8 mile run tomorrow morning.

Cathy - I heard the Heath Ledger news this afternoon. I find it incredibly sad to think how self-destructive people can be when drugs are in the equation. I hope you had a nice dinner with your BFF. Thanks for understanding regarding the personals. I still can't put into words just how much having this group means to me. BTW, you have come so far, darling!!! WTG!!! I wish I could help you with the mystery DOMS. I get weird stuff like that, too, sometimes. My personal fave is DOMS that don't show up until two days after the workout and leave you thinking "what on earth?"

Sunny - Sending {{{{{{{{HEALING VIBES}}}}}}}} onto your MIL! I cannot imagine how much pain she must be in. I'm sorry to hear your workout got nixed for today...go get em tomorrow!

Lorie - Oh, DO NOT tempt me with a trip to Disney!!!! Are you kidding??? I would kill to do a half (not a full!) at Disney. Talk about the ultimate excuse to visit. BTW, I'm sooooo jealous of you having a share of the DVC. My family always wanted to do that but between finances and work it was never an option. I am so, so sorry that your appt didn't go as well as expected and that you have to lay off the cardio this week. Your smilies just about made me spit my seltzer all over my computer :7! BTW, try wearing your HRM while doing heavy weight work. You'll be surprised how hard you work...I know I was the first time! I love the idea of Cheetah shirts, btw.

Judy - Had to laugh about the "quarter" comment. That must have made your day! Congrats to your DS for playing so well, even though the team ended up losing in the end. Enjoy your S&H rotation!

Wendy - WTG with S&H! Legs too easy...you're insane! I have trouble holding a heavy DB like that, too. I end up using a BB on my shoulders behind my head (I can't hold it in front of my head like Cathe usually does...kills my wrists). I like both plans that you have cooked up. Play around with it and see which you like.

Christine - Like your new siggy...too bad we had to say bye to the cute wagging pup :-(. You've been doing a fantastic job gettting your workouts in. The little bit of indulging you've done probably won't have any consequences. I know you'll be right back on track soon enough!

Carole - I hope the DOMS in your UB resolve soon so that you can fully enjoy the DOMS that will follow that killer leg circuit you did today...WOW !! I actually don't mind the actual playing time during a football game but the time between plays is what gets me bored. I won't even talk about how slow baseball can be for me!

Dallas - You do get some kick arse workouts in there girl! I can't wait to get back to Disney soon...hopefully in the next few years.

Shelly - Nice siggy! Thank you again for all of your help. I don't tend to be a Chicken Little about stuff like this but I'm surrounded by a bunch of them so it's been hard to explain to them why I'm not stressed about it. I hope you had a good run considering your batteries weren't fully charged :-(...although I don't think that would ever be enough to stop you!

Kristi - You should be saving those vibes for yourself! I hope you truly are on the upswing now...you poor thing! I have to second the comment made about your boss sending YOU ona cruise after all of this! I love your siggy, btw.

Jackie - Thanks! I love your very chic siggy! Nice run today on sore legs...well done! I think that's going to be me tomorrow. I can already feel it starting to set in.

Gonna go roam around OD for a minute then it's off to bed. Hasta manana!

Evening Ladies!

Thought I'd pop in because tomorrow will be a super early workout again, but then have to run outta here! I'm thinking a spin workout and upper body. This way I can get it all in before I wake the kids.

I went to the chiro this afternoon when dh came home. He cracked, er adjusted my hips. (Carole ;) ) He said that they really needed it. I was surprised. Anyway, they feel weird when I walk now. ha ha!

Dh told me during dinner about Heath Ledger? What on earth happened? :(

Cathy ~ How do you like that Squeeze workout? Not that I need ANYMORE. LOL! I don't think Facebook works w/Safari (Macs)? You all get great workouts in here!!

Sunny ~ Now stop that!! See above. ha! No, I didn't preorder yet - last time I checked it said, "Coming soon." on Amy's home page. It may be up now? Or at least the clip? Hope you can meet up with Christine.

Jackie ~ Do you have Eoinn's Magically Hips? It's a nice short yoga that "magically" works the hips. ;) I'm definitely doing that one at some point this week.

Lorie ~ I just got off the phone with a personal trainer/runner, which made me come here to tell you that she had a piriformis syndrome as well. She went to my Physical Therapist 4 weeks before Boston. She could barely walk and received treatment and ran that Boston!!! This Physical Therapist uses a method called ART. Anyway, this gal I was talking to said it was a miracle. Doctors had told her that she was done running! I know ART works I went to the same PT and she worked wonders on my ankle injury two years ago. Can you see if anyone is certified in this type of therapy? Just a thought. :)

Wendi ~ Have fun on your run tomorrow! Cook Max - that's funnY! Like I said to Cathy, you all get in some awesome work outs! I like checking in with you guys too!

Better hit the hay...that alarm will be going off in no time. :(

Dallas aka siggy-less Cheetah LOL! I'm too tired to monkey around with it.
