Mornin', cheetahs!

*hangs head in shame*

Nope, no workout for me last night AGAIN. I zonked out at 7 pm (!). Just feeling kinda pooped this week. I felt myself fighting the urge to doze in class yesterday. There are definitely some germies floating around that I don’t think I will succumb to, but I’m giving in to the body’s need for rest and will try not to feel bad about it. It might be better this way than pushing on and getting full-blown sick down the road.

So I’m not going to vow to bring it today ‘cause I just don’t know if that’ll happen or not. I’d like to bring it to the couch and stay there all day:7, but oh well. Somebody’s gotta teach the kiddies.

Sunny :: I’m really glad to hear you like your BOSU. What’d you think of the hi/lo dome workout?

Lorie :: how was the meeting yesterday? GREAT job on your run, you, speedster, you! Hey, if you’re feeling down about LV, you can always come join my crew for skiing in Colorado over winter break. We’ve got a condo that sleeps 6 outside of Winter Park. There are 4 of us.

Lori :: how’d the family pics go?…The massage therapist in the Bahamas found several knots in my calves, where I do tend to build up trigger points, but I wasn’t aware of them at the time – until she worked ‘em out, that is. :) Yeowch! They (the calves) hadn’t been feeling particularly tight to me, and I *have* been stretching fairly consistently.

Wendi :: how did you fare with the core work? Glad you had the day off to spend with SO. Do anything special?

Kristi :: I just saw a weighted vest for the first time in Target…I wondered how people use it. Interesting idea. Thanks for the DWTS info. I am surprised Marie is hanging in there still.

Carole :: I will keep my eyes peeled. Is the Nordic available in stores? School *is* a little crazy right now. November in NJ is kind of a joke. We are only in for 14 full days and two half days. The kids get all wired up from the time off (and residual Halloween candy) and we have grades and parent conferences going on. I think I have just had a lot going on, and it’s caught up to me…I would’ve have probably done the same with Kohl’s. I’m not one for big crowds – I’d head the other way. I have no idea how I muster up the gusto for Black Friday madness every year. But my strategy is always to get in and get out early…Helluva w/out yesterday!

Wendy :: Sounds like a good w/out yesterday…did you do those exercises on the BOSU?…IA the rain makes things sort of dreary…That’s great that Hammer responded so quickly and favorably…What about having the protein shake for b’fast? I sometimes do that just because they’re so tasty and they fill me up.

Christine :: Amy’s is the only BOSU video I’m aware of. One came with the BOSU, but I haven’t watched it yet. I’m not sure if it’s a workout or just a tutorial, actually. The ones I’ve seen on youtube do look helpful, though. http://youtube.com/results?search_query=BOSU I’m the same way with the TM…I can make it through about 45 minutes, and then I’m just bored out of my mind.

Judy :: Carole’s Nordic is most appealing to me right now…I love the fact that it is a space-saver, and it is under $1000. But in my fantasy world, I would go for the Precor, for sure. :) Your classes yesterday sounded interesting.

Jackie :: it’s tough to get caught up after some time away…The 4DS w/outs were released in perfect timing for the busy hub-bub of the holiday season, IMO…Congrats the building’s commencement! Exciting!!

Hi Shelly, Linda, and anyone else I may be inadvertently missing.

Happy http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/greetingsandsigns/th_fridaysmiley.gif , all! Sending feel-good vibes to anyone who needs them today (and savin' a few for myself!) :)

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

Just getting ready to go to work...one of the three day shifts I have ahead of me! Im going to try to get my boss to bring in the Christmas decorations today so I will have something to do on Sat and Sun:) Weekend day shifts are usually boring. When I get to work I will read what i missed yesterday.

Yesterday I did a 75 min run outside. When I left the house to walk up my drive way the wind was so strong! It was taking the babies breathe away so I had made up my mind that I wasn't going to go for a run...I was just going to walk down to the mail box. But when I turned in a different direction I realized the wind wasn't so bad. And I knew that when DS fell asleep (by the time I was facing the wind again) he would be lying back and the wind wouldn't be bothering him. Soooooo thats what we did! hehe It was a good run but to windy to run 10 miles!

The picture taking in itself yesterday was a treat:+ They were behind so we had to roam around Walmart for a bit...and that left me wondering how many more people were roaming around? LOL It didn't take to long though but DS wouldn't stop going with his hands and DD started smiling like she was half asleep! I hate it when she takes pics that way. Its like she is to lazy to open her eyes! Because the girl had to take 6 pics, I had my pic with just DD b/c she wanted to and DH had his pic taken with DS. They all turned out nice. When DD and I were getting ready to have our pics taken the girl said "so you guys are sisters?" I said "no" And she looked at me confused, as if there weren't another option! LOL Then I told her that she was my daughter...she was in disbeleif! hehe I am only 29 and DD is almost 12...so you can see where people would get confused.

Anyway...I did set my alarm to get up and workout but I reset it before I went to sleep. I decided to workout after I get home tonight and DS is in bed. DH may hang with his buddies for a while so I will have plenty of time!

Have a good day and I will be back within the hour to write personnals!
Lori:)

Happy friday!!

cathy- no need to hang your head in shame it happens to all of us. not sure if this is an option for you but we purchased our precor on HSN a couple years ago, they offered free shipping and a monthly payment plan. worked out really nice...maybe you could check it out.

lori- did you get your new workouts yesterday?

wendi- how was the day with your SO?

kristi- sounds like you are going strong with BFL. good for you!!

carole- what a nice mish mosh of a workout you put together yesterday!

wendy- how did you like itread 14? what BOSU workout did you purchase? i have one from gay caspar called (well something like this) Bosu strength. ok, i can't remember the exact title and am too lazy right now to run upstairs to check :p however i purchased it from collage.

christine- will let you know about amy's workout today as i didn't get to do it yesterday.:(

judy- so hare are you enjoying your pilates classes?

jackie- Hello and welcome back!

so yesterday wound up being a unplanned rest day but that's alright because i was just so tired and busy. anyway right after i finish posting i am going to do 4DS B&B and then amy's hi/lo dome.

BBL...:)

cathy-you definitely hit the nail on the head. i am really disappointed about not going to vegas. for lots of reasons. i would love to go to colorado. i've never been and i've never been skiing!

so, here is what is hopefully my last bought of bad luck. i received some news on wednesday that i was NOT happy about. i have been working on my dissertation with my (not very helpful) advisor for about a year. i have gone thorough all the hoops to be able to start my research. presenting my topic, doing my literature review, writing my proposal, etc., my advisor now thinks my research is "scientifically trivial" and won't find any new results (realize i had to do a methodology form which outlined my ENTIRE study and she saw no problem then). isn't the point of doing research to SEE if it yeilds results and what they are?!?!?! i don't want to do some random topic. i picked this topic because i was passionate about it (animals and people-i wanted to compare people who had a companion animal with peope who didn't and see if people who had pets had a greater sense of well-being (based on a scintific measure) the first issue was that my advisor didn't think it was good enough to look at the general population because she said that wouldn't be good enough and i had to pck a specific, smaller group. she wanted me to do teachers since i work in a school. so, even though i didn;'t want to do that, i changd it to teachers. now, she says there are too many other variables that would affect a teacher's well-being (DUH! one of the reasons i told her i didn't want to do it) and it wasan't good enough. basically, now SHE WANTS ME TO DO A WHOLE NEW TOPIC!!! do you realize that i have probably put about nine monoths of research and writing into this already?!?! i am ready to DROP OUT! we are suposed to conference on sunday. i am pissed... i can not statrt a whole new topic. i have put so much time, money, and work into this one.

so, that along with the car wreck, my kid in the hospital (who is out and doing much better), my crazy work schedule, and all the MAJOR drama with DF has really made for a craptastic time. i am sure you can all see my need for the HH (hidey hole). i have been wanting to tell you all what's been going on, but i haven't even had time to do a proper post (i set my alarm early so i would have time to write). also, after allt he crap with DF and his evil mom, i find myself wondering about things. do i want to be a part of a family that obviously has issues? do i always want to be caught between not knowing what i can and can not say (although, i have already decided that should she talk to me about anythign having to do with DF or ask me any questions, i will not answer and tell her to talk to him). not to mention that i had told everyone at work and friends that we were getting married on november 30th so i can not tell you how many times a day i have to tell people we are not (i try to kee the explanation to a minumum). they are asking things like if we are registered, am i excited, when are we leaving...they are trying to be nice but it sicks to have to say we're not doing it.

i am DETERMINED to turn my luck around and the ony way i can do that is through my outlook and my behaviors. i am excited about my run yesterday. i feel really good about that. today, the schedule says stretch and strengthen. i am not sure what w/o i will do.

anyway, sorry for my very long and self-absorbed post. i am hoping for an upswing.

thanks for being there...

Alright Cheetahs...I am back. My boss is here early today but is kind of roaming around so I am hoping to write this before he reappears. If I post without saying good bye...then you know why! LOL

Cathy** Im not very good at stretching, I feel great after I do but I usually don't have the time for it. I know I should make the time and I have been doing better lately. I did stretch after B&G the other day and it felt awesome! So I know where the knots are comming from, its my own fault!

Sunny** Enjoy your workout. I am hoping to get mine today but I don't know if thats just wishful thinking. Its been a week and I am in another Country. I think once it as cleared Canadian costumes it shouldn't take to long...and it is only in New Jersey, not like its California. So it probably will cross through Toronto area, after that it shouldn't take to long. Really, really hoping to get them today so I can preview them at work}(

Lorie** So sorry to hear things are still not going good. But your right, you should try to turn everything around. I know sometimes it may be impossible but if you kind of shrug things off, you will turn out more at ease! HOpe it works for ya!

Carole** Sounds like you had a good workout yesterday and yes, the family picture thing turned out to be good:) Im so glad we did it, they turned out so nice! DH is going to go back to Walmart today, put them on a disc and hopefully I will be able to upload them to my picture trail.

Wendy** You never did return for persoannals yesterday! You just kept yacking about yourself:eek: How rude!;) Sorry to hear your Bosu didn't workout for ya but I would have to buy a dvd for it, Id never do it on my own!

Christine** Looking back now, Im not sure how I use to get up and workout in the morning before work! I can't seem to do it now. I guess b/c I have to get up at 5 and then workout between 5:30-6:30...then I know it will be a big rush to get to work. I like getting up and taking my time plus I get to spend a little time with DS before I got to work!

Judy** I can do cardio, then weights but I can't do it the other way around! MY legs are to weak after weight work to jump around. Enjoy your run today!

Alright, I think I have caught up. My boss is gone for a little while so now I get to roam around the internet for bit! YAHHHHH!!!
Lori:)

Hello Friday Cheetahs-

Lorie- Oh-my-goodness is what comes to mind. I am truly sorry you have to answer all those well meaning questions about changed wedding. And the stress of your research, the student troubles and your car is really so much all at once. Can you meet with your adviser again and remind Her that she led you down the path you are on? If you are passionate about the study perhaps you could persuade her that it is worth doing with different parameters?

Cathy- I do hope you aren't catching a virus. I am having similar symptoms myself.

Sunny- Do you use the BOSU too?

I have a long (8-10 miles )run planned today. Right now it is snowing, but it is not supposed to accumulate.

edit to say Hello to Lori :) We posted at same time.

judy-that is exactly what i am doing on sunday when she and i have our "conference". i have already written a "response" to the critique with ways i could change it to make it less "trivial." it may be trivial to her, but i think it would be good to find out if companion animals do truly contribute to well-being. you would be surprised to see that, while most people would think that is the case, the research is really, really divided. ahhhhhh...the whole thing pisses me off to no end.

BUT...like i said, i am deteremined to change my outlook and my behaviors (the only thing i have comtrol over). i have so much to be grateful for.

still haven't decided on a w/o. my training schedule (which i NEVER follow until the last two weeks) has me doing strength today, then 4 miles tomorrow, three miles sunday, and two miles monday with two rest days before the race. so, i am going to do ME, MM, or Pyramids and here is my question: should i work legs today? maybe do that B&G premix you all love (which one is it?) and UB? or should i skip legs altogether? for my long run on sunday after B&G on friday, i still had some booty doms. okay, race experts, i need your expertise.

wow...i sure am chatty today!

Good morning Cheetahs!

I know eveyone always says TGIF but for me it's OSIF (Oh $#!t It's Friday)! Between late Thursday nights and the fact that it's my "hump day" it makes Fridays kind of tough! As is usual on a Friday no workout this morning. If the weather cooperates and the wind kicks up like it's supposed to I may be able to get out of work a bit early and squeeze something in...maybe a run if it isn't too windy.

Cathy - It sounds like your body knew what it needed last night...I'm glad you got the rest you need. Whenever I find myself that tired I give in and sleep because I obviously need it at that point! I'm happy to report that I have no after effects from the core work..other than some normal DOMS (my abs are so out of shape right now x(). It was a miserable, nasty, rainy day here yesterday...perfect for staying inside and making our own *fun* }(! I did make us a yummy seafood stew last night before bowling with shrimp, scallops, calamari, and mussels though...DELISH :9!

Lori - Too funny about the "sisters" comment! I'm glad the pics turned out nice. I dread pics...I'd rather go to the dentist x(. Photogenic I am NOT! Great run yesterday with the wind! I hope you get your dvds soon!

Sunny - Thanks for asking about my SO! It's been a long time since we've been able to just spend a day together doing "nothing". Have a great workout today!

Lorie - Oh, honey, I'm so, so sorry about all the drama in your life right now. I completely understand your feelings regarding DF and his family. I'm just praying that everything starts to turn around for you...you are so overdue for some positive things to happen. WTG on your 10 miler on the TM!!! I bet that lifted your spirits a bit!

Judy - Eek, snow!?!? I guess that's pretty standard in your area this time of year. I'm about an hour and a half from the city in Orange County so we tend to get a bit more rain than snow compared to you. Enjoy your run today...if it stops snowing!

Wendy - I'm sorry to hear you haven't enjoyed your bosu thus far. That was quite the workout you put together though yesterday. I can't wait to hear what happens when you get your silver band }(! I'm glad to hear that Hammer has such great customer service...I find that hard to come by these days.

Kristi - I hope you had a great run yesterday!

Carole - Heehee...my SO gives incredible massages!!! Maybe that's why I keep him around *lol* J/K! I had to laugh about you turning around in the parking lot at Kohl's...i've been known to do that during the holidays. I try to hit those kinds of places during odd hours like first thing in the morning or just before closing. Wow, great workout yesterday!!!

Christine - I *loved* that verse...it is so true for me! Thank you for posting that! You will have a blast with HSC, I promise! I hope you enjoyed your rest day...you earned it!

Jackie - It's good to hear from you. Don't get bogged down with personals...playing catch up can be pretty hard. What's happening to your house, if you don't mind me asking?

I'll see you chickies tonight! Have a great day!

Hi All –

I’m going to do BootCamp this morning (not the 4DS). If I have time, I’ll do it twice. I enjoy that challenge and I need a workout! I’ll let you know if I manage it. :+ Had lunch with my friend from Search. Now I have the bug again. I might take Jimmy to some of the trainings just to see if I really do have the bug again, or it’s temporary insanity. I figure at the very least, Jimmy will have fun running around like a crazy dog looking for people.

Cathy – no shame – you’re just exhausted from your trip and everything that’s been going on. You’re doing the smart thing. Happy Friday! I’m so happy it’s Friday and it’s a short week next week!

Lori – you’re good. When I have to roam around a store, I end up picking up things I simply don’t need! :p I have a friend like you – she has an 11 year old daughter (and a 1 yo DD as well) and she’s young (and looks all of 16). She also gets mistaken for her daughter’s sister. Too funny. Makes you feel good, though, doesn’t it? That’s sweet. Glad the photos turned out great. I do work out in the AM, but I don’t have a set time I have to be at work. I have some flexibility there. So, that’s easier. Plus my DD is 14, so she doesn’t need me to do much for her now. :+

Sunny - No worries about Amy’s workout. That happens. I hope it’s a fun as it looks.

*Gathers the Cheetahs to stand beside Lorie and push that pendulum into an upswing * Come on ladies – push! Lorie – with all that muscle behind you, it HAS to get better. Sorry to hear about the dissertation. Did you ask her why she allowed to go down that path if she did not think the topic scientifically significant enough? And why is it scientifically trivial? If you can prove that teachers who have pets and in better health in general than those who do not, that’s pretty significant. *pooh-poohs the advisor*

Judy – A run in the snow? How pretty! (Well, if it’s not sticking to the ground). Enjoy!

Wendi – I enjoyed my rest day a little too much. Now I have to work hard! :p Oh well – it happened, and I will take care of it. Hope your Friday isn’t too bad or too late! That does not sound like fun. I was thinking of you the yesterday when a friend posted a photo of a gorgeous mare. Fresian – dark dapple gray with a white mane, and gorgeous movement. Not a jumper (too heavy), but gorgeous none-the-less.

Happy Friday...

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..I have had those days when bringing it to the couch sounds nice! I bet your fatigue also has something to do with the cruise last weekend...rest is good!! I bet that Nordic EXT could be in a store, but not in my small town. Maybe you could get some info on that thru their site? School does sound crazy...is Dec any better? I don't know how you can do the Black friday thing either...

Lori..that was a nice compliment about you and your DD being sisters.

Sunny...enjoy your 4DS workout and Amy's Hi Lo dome. I do have some DOMS from my workout yesterday..

Lorie..sorry about the dissertation crap...I can't believe your advisor wants you to pick a whole new topic?? Maybe the conference sunday will iron some things out. As you have mentioned a few times about your doubts with DF, it makes me feel you do have some serious thinking to do. Some of the little annoyances you have in dating can be compounded tremendously after a few years of marriage. Sending {{{HUGS}}} your way sweetie...

Judy...I am sure I will eventually check out Kohl's, just for my curiosity. Now one of my clients said Macy's is having a sale Sat!...:)..Sounds like a fun ball class....ahhh, I want snow!!!! Enjoy your 8-10 miler.

Wendi..I always try to shop early during X-mas too...I always think the rude people you encounter are still asleep! Sorry about your OSIF!! Maybe you will be able to squeeze in a run...

Wendy...good workout with the purple band and the 4.37 mile run! That silver dynaband is tough...:)...not sure I have an answer for your shake/recovery drink question.

Christine...hope you had a nice rest day yesterday, I like the unplanned ones myself...:)...I think you will like Amy's APX, the premixes are good too. I have always thought Search & Rescue could be fun. I have a niece and another friend that do it here. I bet Jimmy would have fun too..:)...have fun with BC.

Jackie...how fun you got to try out Cathe's new workouts. That is great they are starting on your house...

I am so glad its friday. I am planning on PUB Sho's, bi's and tri's and a 4 mile run..

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetah dees!! :)

Cathy - Way to listen to your body and get some extra rest. I've been disinfecting things here at work this morning. Don't want any nasty little germs either. BTW, did you send info on the gift exchange or card exchange? Want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Don't think I listed my size on anything. I take a small in everything and color doesn't matter.

Lori - Sometimes it takes me awhile to get into the Christmas spirit especially if it's not cold. Hope you get to put the decorations up. Glad you were able to get a run in. I hate running and facing the wind.

Sunny - Interested in hearing how you like Amy's Hi/Lo Dome. I hope to get around to mine maybe next week. The new Cathe's and Amy's have lots of premixes to choose from. I like that.

Lorie - What a PIA with your advisor! Seems like she needs to get a grip on what she really wants instead of having you do so much unnecessary work. Hope it works out for you. I'm glad to hear your kid is doing better. Will continue to keep you in prayer that things start looking up for you. (((((HUGS))))) to you!

Judy - Hope you had a good run today despite the snow.

Wendi - Hope you can manage to get out a little early today. I'm building a new house. With all of the rain, they couldn't get things started and it's already been more than 30 days. I have a 6 months time frame. I'm hoping they can get it framed and the roof put on before more bad weather days set in. Then all of the inside work can be done. I'm looking at a finish date of April.

Christine - Search sounds interesting. DBF volunteers with Civil Air Patrol and gets to go out on missions from time to time.

Carole - I like to go to the mall on a Monday morning during Christmas. It's so peaceful and quiet and you don' have to worry about crowds and standing in line. Enjoy your workout today.

I took it easy today. I walked for 15 minutes and did the core work and stretching from Cathe's Kick Boxing along with some extra stretching. I've decided to complete the Road Race Series and do my second half marathon on Sunday. I'm giving my legs 2 days rest and getting a massage tomorrow. Since I know what to expect, I should be ok even if I have to walk most of it.

Hello to all others.

Enjoy your day. :)

Jackie

Good morning cheetahs! Work was terribly busy Tuesday so I had no time to drop in and chat and I had a lot to catch up on yesterday, but I'm back this morning and feeling ready to tackle the world:)
I got in a nice easy paced 6 miles run and also had fun with 4DS KB and legs:7 :7

Here is a little amusement for y'all. I thought I had accidently deleted the few pics I took from my epic Man Against Horse race but I found them! Anyway, here is me with my "opponent" Maddie the Mule, before the race.

http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL488/4961079/16333934/288698865.jpg
Wendi- How do you like them ears?:+

For today it'll be upperbody work only. I'll be doing the 4DS B&B and SCT. Sparing the legs for a race tomorrow! It'll be 11 miles
... odd distance I know, called "rails to trails", run mostly on a beautiful trail that links two of our cities in our quad city area here in N. Ariz.

I'll be back with personals.

ShellyC

Okay, back for personals:) :)

Cathy- With your schedule you've had lately and your trip it's no wonder at all that it's a low energy week for ya and I'm glad you are listening to your body and giving it the rest it needs! So, about to invest in an EXT? You will love it! Fantastic cardio/leg workout without the impact!!

Lori- I'm impressed that you went for a run with the wind, even if it wasn't too strong. I'd sooner run in rain any day then wind... hate it!! Makes me suddently like the old dreadmill! Putting up Christmas decorations should make for an enjoyable work weekend for you.:)

SunnyD- We're doing the same workout today :7 :7 Are you going to be getting the STS series? Probably a silly question!

Lorie- Wow, you sure have one flaky and very unsympathetic advisor!
Holey Moley, nine months down the road is not the time for her to suddently decide you need to change topics!!!!   BTW, I think that's a fascinating topic you have chosen and yes, indeed there is much debate over it. It could have long range consequences in many areas. For instance, would it benefit patients in hospitals to allow them visits from their pets? Personally, I've always thought so but there is no good definitive research to back this up.
Anyway honey, stick to your guns and I think you have a good strategy to deal with this. Re; ongoing issues with your DF and evil mom ;-) Those issues between them are there to stay forever and I don't blame you for hesitating on committing to a lifetime of dealing with it all!!! You're a smart gal and will ultimately make the right choice for you I have no doubt.

Judy- Good luck with your long run today..... SNOW!! I'm so jealous!!!!

Wendi- OSIF???? too cute!!! How do you like my mule pic? Isn't she beautiful?

Christine- Good luck with BCX2... that is a great sweaty challenging workout... even done once! That would be so cool if you trained Jimmy for Search like you did with Tucker, but it must take a lot of time!!

Carole- I'm so excited about seein ya again soon! Have a great time with PUB and your run today.

Jackie- WOW    I'm in awe that you find it in you to get through yet one more Half Marathon!!! You really will earn that title of road warrior!!!!!

Time to get this old bod movin now! Hello to any cheetahs following!

ShellyC

YES! I did BC twice. No abs, though. I’ll do those tomorrow. If I keep in the abs it just makes BC x2 WAY too long. I’m very nicely fried and feel wonderful.

Carole – I’m excited to get my new workouts. I may have to revisit Amy’s step workouts too. I know ASC is tough, but I do really like the straddle taps around the step. We’ll see. Did you get her Hi/Lo one too? Have fun with PUB S/B/T and your run!

Jackie – Wow – your second half after your vacation? I’m impressed! Enjoy your massage! And yes, it’s okay to walk. Although once you’re there, you won’t want to.

Shelly – I love Maddie and her ears! You two look cute together! :p Oh, your race sounds really nice! I would love that one. Enjoy it!

I actually have done Search and Rescue myself with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. It is interesting. To be on the actual county search team is not too much time – a meeting once a week and off site training once a month. You do have to have an advanced first aid course (it’s a 40 hour course) and CPR for Rescuers (which is beyond your standard CPR). Many of the team get their EMT licenses, because you just don’t know what you’re going to run into out there, and the more training the better. Most of the time searches are a big waste of time. A relative calls in and says a person is missing and gives a PLS (point last seen) and you start from there. Three hours of intense searching later, you find that he hopped a ride with his best friend and they’re sitting at a local pub drinking Budweiser. Or you get paged out on a search that is in a different county, so you spend 5 hours driving, only to be told with one hour left to go to get there, that he’s been found. There’s a lot windshield time. And a lot of time spent looking for suicides. You’d be surprised at how many people go out into the wilderness to commit suicide. But for all of that, when you do find someone alive and know that without your skills that person may not have made it, it’s an amazing feeling.

quick pop-in for me...

lori- i am so sorry for all that you have been going thru for the past couple of weeks. my prayers are with you.

shelly- silly girl..of course i am getting the STS system, this is my dream come true system, cathe style!!!!

judy- i do use the bosu, however mainly for my clients.

wanted to let you all know i did about 30 mins of amy's hi/lo and loved it! i am not a hi/lo person because i don't like dancey moves but this one was pure athletic moves and drills and what a sweatfest!! i am planning on doing the dome portion when i get home later on.
i know i am going to have bicep DOMS tomorrow}(

ttyl...:)

*sighs* Another Amy workout I have to get. THEN I have to get a BOSU. Which will lead to other workouts for the BOSU so I don't waste my investment. Sunny - you are leading me down a slippery pathway... :p

Sunny - glad you enjoyed it. I had heard a lot of people say that they hate hi/lo, but loved this workout. I had the feeling you would love it.

I have a question - this is going to sound odd, but... I'm thinking of doing a true three day split - M, W, F (or M,W,R - depending on my mood), with the GS series for three week. Would it be okay to do a circuit workout in the morning before that? It may be that I use the time savers (and go heavier).

christine- lol, you know you love it! i didn't get a chance to do the dome part today. i will let you know my thoughts once i complete.

cathy- i sent you a pm re: the christmas card list

Hi cheetahs!
I just emailed or PM’d everyone with the holiday card exchange address list. Please let me know if you didn’t receive it for some reason.

For those participating in the gift exchange, you should have received an email naming who your person is. I’m not sure if everyone’s posted gift ideas? If you are looking for Christine or me, check the 11/4 thread. Jackie, Linda, Kristi, and Wendi posted on the 11/5 thread. And Wendy, Lorie, and Lori posted on the 11/6 thread. Susan? If you posted your “wish” list, I may have missed it. Our mailing deadline is Wed., 12/5, but have we decided when we want to open our gifts? Do we wait for 12/25 or do you just open the package when you receive it? Or do you want to open them on a designated date before Christmas? Thoughts?

Lori :: wow! What a supreme compliment to be mistaken for your daughter’s sister! Now THAT’S a feel-good moment…I had the opposite once. I went to my sister’s company picnic one year and I guess I looked kinda young in a bucket hat with my hair in French braids – one of the employees thought I was my sis’s daughter. Needless to say, DS was *livid.* She's only 5 years older than me...heh heh

Sunny :: I checked HSN but didn’t see any Precors…I am probably going to go with the Nordic Spacesaver. Thanks for the hi/lo endorsement – you sold me! :) I will go check that PM now. Hope I didn’t screw up! :p :7

Lorie :: we are going from the 26th to the 30th…we are 3 teachers and 1 guidance counselor, all laidback…the other 3 are kind of kamikaze skiers/snowboarders but not me…So sorry to hear about your advisor changing the rules of the game midway…I hope Sunday’s conference can resolve this so that you do not have to change topics. She should have foreseen it long ago if the topic were not suitable. My fingers’ll be crossed for you…I can also see how the questioning, though well-meaning, would begin to rub. You have a lot on your plate these days. The HH sounds like an appealing place to me. Today I’ll opt for Aaron Eckhardt and a vat of Chickie & Pete’s crab fries (it’s a Philly thing)…IMO, you could still do legs today…B&G Leg Blast is the killer.

Judy :: I think I’m going to give it one more rest day. I feel woozy in the head today. I think I might have to talk to the doc about this vertigo thing. I thought it would just go away, but it seems to be lingering. What’s the word on the white stuff up there?

Wendi :: glad to hear it’s just DOMS for you…Remember that back trouble I was having? It’s gone! My last chiro adjustment (which kind of hurt) coupled with that rough massage did the trick. Yay!…Glad you had some *fun* yesterday…that seafood stew sounds right up my alley!!!

Christine :: I think I have to buy Amy’s hi/lo dome w/out…Fascinating about the rescue operations. With Jimmy’s energy and intelligence, he sounds like a perfect match. I admire you for having done it – and for considering it again. What a noble thing to do…I’m not sure about the circuit question. If you do, I would think you wouldn’t need to go heavier. Will be curious to hear what others think.

Carole :: yes, I’m sure the cruise contributed…I actually went to bed early the first night and then decided I needed to maximize my vacation time and didn’t get much sleep the next two nights. ;) I checked the Nordic site…I don’t see a store locator or anything, but I will keep looking. Shipping is $85. I definitely won’t buy until I see what’s doing for Black Friday sales…Yes, Dec. is usually better!…so what exercises do you use your silver for?

Jackie :: I did email you the name of your person, but I think you should have received that before you left for your trip. Did it not come through?

Shelly :: great pic! You look fab as usual, and Maddie’s a cutie, too. The sky looks gorgeous. Good luck in tomorrow’s race. You sure do find the interesting ones…Yeah, I think I want to bite the bullet and go EXT.

OK, I think I'm caught up. Hi Susan, Kristi, Linda, Wendy (where ya been, girl?) and anyone else dropping in.

::::::: paging SUSAN ::::::: :) :) :) :)

We need your wish list, woman! When you get a chance, please post a few ideas to help out your Secret Santa. You don't want to end up with a fruitcake, do you? :7

Thanks!!!
