::: CHEETAHS ::: Chillin' on Saturday

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Morning, everyone! :) :) :)

Today's a rest day. Don't feel like I need one, but I know the long run tomorrow (even though it's not a LONG long run) will go better if I do.

Judy :: Unfortunately, I missed BW when it was in Philly. Many folks I know raved about it as well. Just curious: why the warm water?

Gloria :: nice job with your run. What's new at your end?

Wendy :: I don't feel it was too graphic an exhibit. If it looked as lifelike as, say, the surgery channel, I'd never make it through. How was last night?

Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!

Today is a rest day for me. I 'm going shopping with the girls and dh to get some shoes for the year. Plus some other things like socks and underware. Hope all of you have a great Saturday.

Cathy- Enjoy your rest day with me. Need anything at Target

Good Morning Girls.

Well it's not a rest day for me but the only work out I have on tap is my Centergy class at the gym so I won't be pouring sweat either. I just hope I don't get antsy later and want to run or lift!;)

Cathy: Last night was fun. Ended up bing detoured from the original plan but that's okay. I drove into Newark and met BMF and couple other guys and we had dinner and a couple of beers there. The meal did NOT fit into my nutrtion plan I am sure. I am afraid to log on and enter it as it may scare me! That's good to know about the Bodies exhibit. Perhaps I will try to get to one some day. So you and I need to schedule our next visit near a Target. We'll have a contest to see who can spend more money!:D

Karen: Have fun shopping. Target is a fave of mine too. Haven't shopped there in a while. It comes in waves and watch out when that wave crashes, girl! LOL :p

BBIAB!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...not sure if it exactly like Body Worlds but we have a human body exhibit here too. I have not gone but I know people that have and have enjoyed it. Sounds like a good run and KB mish mosh yesterday. I think a rest day before a semi long run is a great idea. I ordered Dexter Season 2 from Amazon last night, hopefully I will get it late nest week...:D

Wendy..good job with the run and 4DS shoulders yesterday. I am also trying to remove the fat over my muscle...:)..Enjoy your centergy class.

Karen...how did the nutrition go yesterday? I was a bit high on sodium, but I knew that would happen!! Enjoy your rest day and time with DH and the kids.

Christine..OMG, it was 117 when I got home yesterday!!! Hopefully today will be cooler. I can understand your DH's feeling about the Pats, it has happened to me many times...:(...I saw the 2 USA gymnast girls interviewed yesterday and they showed all their routines. WOW! Those are 2 lovely, and very talented girls. Good job with the pizza yesterday, I always have at least 3 pieces it seems. Sounds like a fun weekend planned.

Judy..glad to hear I have helped you to lift heavy...:)...

Jackie...I was on the edge of my seat during that Girls Beach Volleyball game too the other night. WOW!! The guys had a tough match last night also. I was so happy for the 2 gymnasts, they had great performances. Good week for you with Barry and the boys.

Today will be MM chest, tri's, abs and KenpoX+. As I posted to Christine it got to 117 yesterday!!
sweat.gif
I hope today is a bit cooler...

Have a great day...:)

Carole :: Season 2 is available??? I want to watch the finale again before the new season starts--can't wait!...I am starting to get a little booty DOMS from yesterday's mosh...:)...I was taking my rest days the day after the long runs, but this seems to work out better for me. 117 is ridic...cute smiley, though. Hope you get some relief today.

Wendy :: glad last night was a good time...I think occasionally zagging just a bit beyond the calorie range is probably a good thing. At least that's what I'm telling myself. :) I thought Friday's run might feel a little like garbage since I had some junky stuff on Thursday, but I actually felt great...ha ha--we would do some serious damage!

Happy Saturday Cheetahs! :D:D:D:D:D

Karen – Sorry about the run that you weren’t in to – it was hot, wasn’t it? Ick, I hate running in heat. Enjoy your rest day!

Cathy – Oh I can’t rule out cheese, either, but I have to be careful otherwise no one wants to be in the same room as me. Glad you enjoyed BW2. For some reason I get the heebee Jeebees every time I saw the commercial. And I’ve dissected about every animal out there – I was a bio major. Go figure. And your free day sounded wonderful! You simply cannot go to Baltimore and not have a crab cake. YUM!!!! Nice KB Mish Mosh!

Jackie – Sounds like you’re all nice and settled in your house and loving it. It gorgeous. I enjoyed watching the two US gymnasts win gold and silver. And they are just so graceful about it – both of them. I have to admit I enjoyed hearing about how proud the silver medalist was of the gold – what a refreshing change from the idiot who threw his medal and stormed off the stage.

Judy – I’m leaving the cheese off my salads, too. I can handle a 6 oz yogurt a day, but I cannot handle milk as is. That bloats me to no end. I had some yesterday, stupidly, and WOW!

Wendy – good job with your run and enjoy pilates today!! I like pilates, but only really did it when I was going to the gym in the afternoons. I should get my one co-worker to join a gym with me to workout. My garage is limited. :p

Gloria - Have fun Kayaking today!!

Carole – 117!?!?!:eek::eek::eek: WTF? That is crazy! I know in Phoenix the planes cannot take off at 122 – that’s awfully close! I so hope it’s cooler. We got up to 95 – so it wasn’t too much cooler than Thursday. It’s already hot in the house this morning. L Yes, the two gymnasts are lovely and graceful both on the floor and off. As I told Jackie – what a refreshing change it is to see two competing athletes who so obviously wish each other well. DH was almost in tears watching them be interviewed (okay I was too). He kept saying, “Now THAT is what the Olympics are all about.”

Yesterday a friend of mine got 3 kittens. Yes, three! So I had to go over and see them (this is the friend who took care of the dogs for me). They were so cute!! Today will be a bike ride or a hike. We’ll see what DH is up for. I know which Jimdog would prefer. :D I’m going for a bike ride tomorrow with the kitten friend. Hopefully it’ll be a challenging one. If she has to bring her son in the trailer, it won’t be. But it will be fun. I got my grocery shopping done last night, so I just have to do my nails. Then we have a party tonight. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Cheetahs!

Cathy: Not much new with me. Just working on cleaning, thinking about school, etc. Just got the class list yesterday via email. I did not want to go in yesterday after all. Maybe today. The BW thing sounds cool. I loved human biology and anatomy and physiology in college. I actually liked to study for those classes! Great workout yesterday! Enjoy the rest today.

Karen: Enjoy your shopping today. I love back to school shopping. Since I am a teacher I still consider it an excuse to buy new clothes!!! I hope you have a nice rest day!

Wendy: I hope you end up liking the class! Good luck with your long run tomorrow!

Carole: Hoping the weather cools down out there for you. I love pizza. I had some last night actually. I have always liked watching gymnastics. Yes, very talented girls. Have a great workout!

Christine: That is sweet about you and DH re: the Olympics. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. I really like Zappos too. Excellent customer service every time I have ordered. Those shoes are adorable!

The kayaking got nixed for today. Will do something other than running today. I have run the last three days and that is pushing it for me. Met up with some friends last night. That's it for me. Enjoy this lovely Saturday!

Hi to all other Cheetahs! :)

Good morning strong Cheetah women!

Cathy - I know what you mean about being careful with the back. Just make sure you keep stretching and you'll be ok. I sleep with a pillow between the knees and it seems to help. Things seem to be picking up at work and it makes it hard to get on here and read and post. Enjoy your rest day!

Karen - I have done Jillian's 30 Day Shred and I like it a lot. I usually combine 2 or more of the workouts to make it longer. Enjoy your rest day and have fun shopping. Spend too much money at Target when I go. How are your parents doing?

Judy - Did you see Phelps win the gold last nigth? Now, that was too close for comfort. I thought for sure he came in second. Guess having those long arms paid off for him.

Wendy - Laughing at you living in a cave. You're not by yourself. I don't normally keep up with a lot of the athletes but the Olympics will make them known. Glad last night went well for you and BMF. So, what's the Centergy class all about.

Gloria - Good job on the 4 miles yesterday! Did you go kayaking today? How's Pip?

Carole - 117?? Wow! We had a few sprinkles yesterday and the temp dropped to 69. Oh, boy, it's rising again though. Try and stay cool. Enjoy MM and KenpoX+.

Christine - Didn't you just love that support and admiration the two gymnasts had for each other. Compare them to the two swimmers that had been roommates and now they don't get along very well. I missed the one that stormed off stage. What country was it? I'm ready to watch some track and field races now. Watched a little of that last night too. Enjoy your bike ride or hike. Have fun tonight. Those shoes are too cute! :D Do let us know about the comfort and fit. I use shoemall.com a lot too. Plus, I go through ebates and get a 13% rebate. Can't remember how much it is for zappos.

Hello to all others.

I ran 6 miles outside this morning and did another mile on my TM to cool down. Did Cool It Off Express. That stretching felt good. I was hoping to see my neighbor out running this morning so that we could get something set in stone about running together. I was out between 7 - 8 and never saw him. I do remember him saying he had a race coming up but don't remember when. He also has two little ones and a pregnant wife. I'm definitely more flexible. Hopefully, we'll run into one another within the next couple of weekends.

Going to do some laundry, dust a few more cabinets and run the dust mop. Once I get the haze off the cabinets, then I can use my big feather duster. Then, I'll see what the rest of the day holds.

Have a wonderful day!

Jackie: Nice run! Hopefully you can meet up with your neighbor. I will be washing walls today since it hasn't been done in three years! Pip is doing well. She got a clean bill of health at the vet, so that was nice. We love her so much. I can't tell you ladies enough how sweet she is. She is crazy in the morning though. Glad you are getting some time to watch the Olympics. I am a big fan of the Prefontaine movies.

Hi Girls.

Just checkin' to say 1 class down and 2 to for this month. It wasn't a bad class but not a true yoga/pilates mix IMO. It was all yoga except for one small abs segment. Good nonetheless I guess. I had a hard time hearing the instructor though. I suppose if I continue to take it I will learn what's coming so I won't have to look around to see what everyone else is doing constantly.

Off to shower and nap now. :)

Afternoon Cheetahs!

Just now had the chance to post. We ran 9 miles this morning. I came home and did FW-running segment and Kelli Roberts foam rolling DVD. That foam roller is like a torture device!!! ha ha Y-day, I bagged the workout due to my stomach thing and wanted to get an early start to the beach. We had the best day!! :D We even got to see the airplanes practicing for the air show (today). Bonus!!! My stomach didn't start bothering me again until we were on the way home. Weird!?!?! The day before the kids wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. They had fun, so that's all that matters. I was fine on the run, but when I got home the stomach thing was in full force. UGH!! Also, had a little hamstring tightness. I'm hoping the foam rolling and FW did the trick.

Let me go read some threads...BBR.:)

Personals:):)

Hi Ladonna ~ Good luck with your training. These girls have been most helpful! :)

Jackie ~ Nope, have no idea what's going on with the stomach, but dh has been having these issues for several weeks. Geez, could a bug last that long?!!? Hope you "run" (pun intended ;)) to your neighbor soon.:pIt is so much fun running with others. Get that laundry done? It's an ongoing thing here.

Christine ~ IA with your DH. I was so happy watching the two gymnasts during their interview. :D Enjoy your party and bike ride w/your kitten friend! I had to lol when I read "kitten friend". :p What did you decide to do today? Cute shoes! I'm always happy w/Zappos. :)

Posh ~ Thanks!!! It will all be fine. It's just the down part of the roller coaster right now. :( Yeah, next week is a 16 miler on the lake front. Should I run if I have no race planned in the near future? It would be so fun though...well, sort of...ha ha! I read your post to Judy, and you're doing great!! WTG!!! I buy a flaxseed and millet (gluten free)bread from the local nutrition store. It's pretty good. They actually get it shipped from Fla. If you can't find the Nuun tablets, I can send you some. The orange ginger is my favorite. :D

Karen ~ That was some great stuff in your goody bag!! I had a bunch of flyers in mine. How did shopping go? Kids get all their school supplies? I have one thing left to find, but can't find it!!!

Gloria ~ How long do you have to complete the plan for the principal? Oh, the race shirt was ok, but the "free" shirt was not. That's ok, makes for a nice sleep shirt. :) Enjoy your night out tonight! Sorry about the kayaking.:( Glad Pip got a clean bill of health! He's got a loving mommy! :)

Wendi ~ How did your turkey chili turn out? Bummer about bowling! You still burned some good calories during work!! :)

Judy ~ Awww, thanks!!! How's the foot? Yep, mine was lateral as well. Now that that's gone, the left hamstring has decided to give me some grief!! No problem all week, but then today on mile 4, I started feeling. Good job passing on the B&J ice cream!!!

Cathy ~ Thanks! I do plan to schedule that massage. I have one day left w/my babysitter before college. That's what I'm doing! :D Enjoy your rest day! How long tomorrow? I know what you mean, when they said 90 easy minutes this AM. I was like, woo hoo!! I won't be saying that next week. lol Nice KB mish mosh y-day.

Carole ~ Stay cool! Goodness - now that it hot!!!! That is a cute smiley!:) Yes, I think doing the nutrition program will show me where I need to add some variety. I have a tendency to stick with the same food. Mostly, because of my GI issues. :( I also picked up the book Posh was talking about the other day.

Wendy ~ So, you have to take this yoga class? I wonder why? Does Joey nap when you nap? Ahhh, I miss those days! lol

Hi Shelly, Lorie, Sunny, Linda!

Well, better go figure out dinner for the kids as dh and I have a much needed date night tonight.:D Oh, I have a new nephew!! He was born this AM!!!! :D:D

Have a great night. :)

ETA: I added DD's race pictures to MyCatheSpace...forgot about that. This site has it all! :) The company's pictures are horrendous!!

Cathy...Season 2 is avaliable Aug 19th. Nice to have some booty DOMS...:)...I think that is great if rest days work for you this way. I believe when I trained I took Sat's off too. We got some relief...110!

Christine...yes I agree about the 117, WTF!!! 110 today so a bit of relief. Your DH hit it rIght on the mark with what he said "Now THAT is what the Olympics are all about.”...:D...ahh, kittens are so cute. Enjoy your bike ride or hike. Zappos is a great company! What shoes did you get?

Gloria...I have always liked watching gymnastics myself. I took that class in High school. I preferred our balance beam though as it was only about 6 inches off the floor!! I have not had much pizza since starting the nutrition program. Not sure how Round Table will stack up! Sorry kayaking got nixed...:(

Jackie...now 69 would feel so refreshing!! You got in a good run today. Too bad you didn't hook up with your neighbor, I bet you will soon. Yuk..dusting is my least fav thing to do...:(

Dallas...sorry about the stomach issues. Good job with the 9 miles and foam rolling. I stick with the same foods too. But today has been real different. It'll be interesting to see how things add up. Congrats on your new nephew...:D.

So DH was telling me today that I looked skinny. HA! I am far from that. I just thinks he wants something.....Had a good workout and now going to see what is going on with the Olympics.
