Hi ladies!
Thought I would come over here while downloading new pictures into our online albums and I didnt see a thread here for the checkin so I will start it off. I bet someone else is typing right now and we will have two threads! :)
My back is still sore so I did 3 days of circuit training to try something different and to stay away from heavy weights so my back can get better.
Mon. -- did 30 mins. on the climber in 2 min. high intensity bursts. After a 2 min. interval I would jump off and hit a weight machine lifting lighter weights slowly for 1 min. Then back to the climber for another 2 mins. and so on.. Did all machines plus abs in this manner hitting upper and lower body.
Tues. -- nothing
Wed. -- another circuit as per Monday but used the bike instead
Thurs. -- nothing
Fri. -- same as Monday.
Sat. and Sun. -- nothing
I recommend these types of circuits to break up the monotony.
I think my back is messed up from either holding Brandon or from bent over dumbbell rows although I am not quite sure.....I am really trying to pay attention to form when I lift.....as alot of us already know....a sore back is the absolute pits! :)
Is everyone enjoying the spring? It's been nice and cool here although raining the last few days.
Take care everyone. Be safe, happy, and healthy.
Trevor

Hi Trevor!! I hope your back feels better. Your right, a sore back is awful.Well, I didn't have any ball games this week because it rained for for 5 days straight! Yesterday afternoon was the first time the sun came out and stayed out. Today it is sunny again, Thank God! Well, I get lazy and tired when it rains, but I tried to keep up with morkouts just the same. Sooo.... here's my week:

MON: PS BBA and MIC(Step only)

TUES: PS CST and CK(cardio part only) and Intense Moves

WED: PS SLA

THURS: PS BBA and BMAX (Step part)

FRI: PS CST and Kathy S. Step Workout (needed something slower)

SAT: PS SLA and CTX Kickbox

SUN: Yoga and maybe a walk.

Well, this was my first somewhat "normal" week of workouts since the colonoscopy. My stomach is still a mess, but at least my workouts are back to normal!

Monday: Bryan Kest Vol 2 (Man this was TOUGH!...It was my first time doing it, and my legs were SHAKING after I was done!)

Tuesday: MIS Chest/MIS Back/MIS Shoulders/CTX Kickbox Cardio

Wednesday: MIS Back/MIS Triceps/Abs (overslept)

Thursday: Body Max up to Shoulder training

Friday: Body Max - Shoulders/Biceps/Triceps/Abs
Yoga Zone Conditioning & STress Release

Saturday: CTX Step & Intervals/30 minutes TKO Boxing (still learning the TKO tape so am planning to "stick it" on to the end of various workouts this week until I get it down!)

Sunday: Decided to be decadently lazy today....

Hope everyone has a good week!

Terri

it's been awhile...

...since I've checked in...believe me I haven't slacked off! How's that baby doing Trevor? Doing any cute tricks? Terri, hope your tummy gets better! Getting extra resistance work with my DH, it's planting season so periodically I "get to" load 20-40 bags of seed at 40-50 lbs each (YEAH ;-)) Anyway, we're almost done! I've been doing a lot of treadmill running, got a great deal on ebay-love it :D Very stable and pretty quiet! But I can't get it through the basement door...oh well
Sunday-does gardening for almost 7 hours count (I slept like a baby!)
Monday-whoa...still sore!
Tues-intervals on treadmill while watching regis and kelli
Wed-Cathe's advanced treadmill workout plus PS CST
Thurs-straight run then incline walking on TM for 75 minutes (glued to TV for Will and Grace-last half, got stuck doing the farming thing first-and then ER, didn't expect that ending!) + PS SLA and BB
Fri-Method Perfect Mix (gotta ways to go to get used to this DVD)
Sat-70 min interval workout on TM (watched Friends on tape...whoa, that one was a shock at the end!) and Firm TBSM
have a great week! off to church for me!

Hi everyone--Sounds like you guys had a busy week. I realized that I posted most of this week's workout schedule last week (it was my first time participating in this check in). Duh. Mon-Thurs is a redux of what I reported last week:

Monday - Step Jam (am), PS-BBA (after work). Love that PS DVD!!
Tuesday - Interval Max (am---wooo hooo!), Leaner Legs & CXT kickbox abs/planks (after work). Good news-LL has really built up my endurance. I can keep my barbell loaded w/40lbs until Cathe goes to Static Lunges & Plie Squats, then I drop it to 35lbs.
Wednesday - Cardio Kicks (am), Body Max upper body section (after work), Abs
Thursday - Power Max (am), Precision Toning (after work)
Friday - OFF!!!
Saturday - Interval Max, PS-Standing Legs only, Leaner Legs' Abs section
Sunday - Step Fit, CXT-Chest, Shoulders, Triceps. My chest was beat today. I had a hard time getting through that part of the workout. This afternoon, I will do Precision Toning.

I ordered Christi's Hi/Lo Happy Hour and Hi/Lo Heaven from Collage last week, and expect they will arrive tomorrow. I'm thinking about doing Hi/Lo HH first since I've never done a Christi tape before. Do you Christi fans think that's a good way of easing into her choreography? I'm trying to diversify a little because I do Cathe step tapes most of the time. I used to mix it up with Gin Miller's New Body workout, Kathy Smith's Timesaver cardio, and a Gilad tape, but I kind none of those workouts challenging or fun since I discovered Cathe. Maybe I'll combine MIC's Hi/Lo section w/some of the hi/lo stuff in CXT.

Can you believe next Monday is Memorial Day? Anyone have big plans for the weekend?

Have a good week! And Trevor, Hon, take care of that back!
Suzanne

I'll bet it's your son making your back ache Trevor. I know my little guy makes mine ache!

Okay if I whine? Today is my bday and I'm so very mad at my hubby. I'm thinking of maybe doing Imax to work off some frustration, so I won't be so grouchy all day. He's at work, so my bro is having me and the kids over for food. I know, I have it great, shouldn't complain! I just can't get over being mad :-mad ! Bet you're wondering why? It's so dumb I don't even want to say! But I'm hoping it will help to kvetch and get it off my chest!

Okay, I did workout last week
Sun. Had the best Mother's Day ever painting the cabinets in our little camp trailer. Alone time for a while and then visiting time with my 4 year old. That all ended about 6 pm when I got the 24 hour barf bug from my 4 year old! So....
Mon & Tue. nothing

Wed. Vol. 4 to the abs

Thu. 2K05 hi/lo

Fri. Firm Boot Camp 3-n-1 W/O #1, (does the FIRM know what a warmup is supposed to be???)

Sat. Step Heat I was feeling like lead during this and thinking how glad I was that today is a rest day. But I'm feeling very Imaxxxy!!!

That's it for my whiny butt!
Andrea

Hey, Andrea,
Ugh. That stinks! You are allowed to be annoyed, and what better place to whine than here??! I'd go for Imax--major stress relief! Maybe your husband will xurprise you with something special when he comes home...
Happy birthday anyway :)
Wendy

Hi everyone!
Trevor--glad you're taking it easy on your back, and I hope it feels much better soon!
Aimee--I'm regretting that I've given away alot of my older, easier tapes for those days when I need something slower...aren't you glad you have the option :)
Terri--Is a colonoscopy always so disruptive? I didn't realize that you would be out of whack for a while...hope your normal routine can stay for a while :)
I'm forgetting someone...Sorry!

Here's my week: (5th and Last week of Knee recovery rotation)
SUNDAY: 60 minutes legs

Wendy

Hi everyone!!

Trevor - take care of that back!! Hope it feels better soon!

Terri - hope your stomach feels better soon. Glad the colonoscopy is over with, though!! I had a really tough time with TKO - I couldn't follow the choreography with the punches. I found myself chanting the moves along with Debbie - it was the only way for me to really concentrate and keep up.

Julie - gardening is a tough, tough workout!!

Suzanne - Have fun with those new Christi videos!! Hi/lo Heaven is one of my favorite tapes - it is so much fun for me!

Andrea - Happy Birthday!! I don't know if this will help or not, but my husband generally doesn't do special things for me on holidays, but he is so sweet to me every day that I take that into consideration. I figure that I would rather have a great guy 365 days a year, then one who only treats me nice on holidays. On the other hand, there must be husbands out there who do both!!

Wendy - can you recommend a good Margaret Richards video? I have been interested in her workouts.

We've been busy, busy, busy with wrapping up the end of the school year and baseball with the kids!! It's been crazy!!

Here's my week:

Monday: spin 45 minutes/stairstepper 45 minutes/jumprope 5 minutes (I stink at jumproping and want to improve)

Tuesday: Step Heaven - my first time doing the whole thing. I really didn't care for it. Maybe next time I'll like it better. I love Hi/lo heaven though. Then I did the cardio from Mindy's Ultimate Boot Camp, then MIS

Wednesday: spin 45 minutes/stairstepper 45 minutes/jumprope 5 minutes

Thursday: Run/walk 10 miles, Weights III

Friday: spin 45 minutes/stairstepper 45 minutes/jumprope 5 minutes

Saturday: Run/walk 10 miles, Super Sculpt + I added a little bit of chest/bicep/tricep work.

Sunday: Run/walk 10 miles.

Hope everyone has a terrific week!!! Sorry so long!

Erica

RE: Hi everyone!!

Hi, everyone. Didn't have a very good week workout-wise, only did 2 cardios all week. I did keep up with Cinza's step-up & pushup challenges. :-tired

Just wanted to say Trevor, take care of that back. I'm sure it's as much a pain in the neck as it is a pain in the back! Hope you feel better very soon.

Terri, I'm glad to see you've been able to get back into your routine at least. I hope you are feeling better very soon too. (I'm sure you guys may have noticed, that being fit makes your recovery from most anything at least a little quicker.)

Andrea, I hope you have an unexpectedly

You know, I had never even heard of Margaret Richards until several weeks ago when I noticed her name being mentioned on Video fitness. It turns out that her Body Electric show is on h=every morning on PBS where I live, so I've taped 5 or 6 episodes. I would like to get some of her tapes, but boy oh boy are they ever expensive!
Sorry I can't help you more...

RE: Thanks Wendy!!

Hi, just wanted to mention I have followed Margaret Richard for years. I too have many of her shows on tape, but they are by necessity brief workouts. In my opinion her best videos were Upper Body Sculpture & Lower Body Sculpture. She uses lighter weights/higher reps but I guarantee you will feel it! I sent her an email awhile ago asking if she had ever considered doing a heavier weights/lower reps slow type tape. She emailed back that she had been planning just that! I can't wait to see it as it will be such a departure for her.

Anyway, her web site is www.bodyelectrictv.com - yes her videos are rather expensive, but they can be found discounted or used sometimes. I personally think they are worth looking around for.

Take care, Ruth
