Cathe's June Rotation - week 1 - Thursday- check in

dorothyrd

Cathlete
Just trying this by day so it is not so long. What do you guys think. I am a day behind, so I am off to do shoulders and MIC.

See ya

I am back and survived shoulders and MIC hi/lo. I forgot she started those overhead presses with 15 and then dropped to 12. I should have started with 12, but was trying to do Cathe's weight. OWWW.

I always have the same reaction after all the jumps that never end in MIC( I hate those jumps, I hate them in Imax, hate then in step and I and MIC and anywhere they rear their ugly heads). Anyway after those jumps and I am gasping for air, Cathe says, "oh I want to go faster(harder?), what do you say?" I always think, "what are you nuts?!!!"

I am trying to decide whether to take the rest day tomorrow or not. I usually rest on Saturday, because that is a true rest day. Friday I have Master swimming practice. Although if I rest with the weights, I will swim better at night!!

Hi dorothy, I'm taking a rest day and it's driving me crazy! This rotation has me energized, like I keep saying.:+ I think I might take the dog for a hike later on today. I can started with 10lbs. on those overhead presses. 15lbs. is ALOT! My daughter just started this rotation yesterday. She is 18. I could hear her groanin' and moanin' while she was working out yesterday morining. LOL!
Punky, I still haven't been looking for a weighted vest yet. I just saw your post that you are from Canada and coming to Maine soon. I'm from Utah and I'm betting we don't have the same fitness Chains as Maine has. I'll try to go looking this weekend and see what I come up with.:)

Hi Everyone - happy rest day!!!

Dorothy - great idea to start a new thread - I hope everyone finds us over here. I hate the plyos too - they are so aerobically challenging for me.

Christi - lol - rest days are for resting - not for running 4 miles! hehe Now I can see why you like all that hi/lo! Seriously lots of people like the hi/lo. I've just always found it bothers my back. This is the first time it didn't, so maybe I am finally getting some muscle support and some better form! I find it super mentally challenging to keep myself going during hi/lo - always wondering how much time left. I never feel that way with step for some reason. I guess we all have different preferences - thank God actually, or we'd all be fighting over the same tapes on the swap! hehe

Sunnyside - I can't do 15 pounds on the overhead presses either. 10 is my max so far if I want to make it through all the sets. Sometimes I have to drop to 8's on the 3rd set.

Phyllis - so what is a spinnerval workout like? Is that done on a stationery bike? What's the difference between a stationery bike and "spinning"?

Gayla - congrats on making it through Day 1 - alot of us found it the most brutal. How did you find MIC when you tried it?

Upearly (Annette) - thanks for jumping in with us! I find hi/lo deadly too!

I, like Sunnyside, didn't feel like taking a rest day today - I'm so energized. But I skipped out on my rest day (which would have been Monday) already, and I woke up with some DOMS - each of the body parts is settling in now - hehe, so I decided better to take a rest and have more energy tomorrow than to kill myself and have to miss a couple of days right? Convince me!!!! hehe

Next week I am going on Thursday for a 1 week vacation. I'm ticked because I'm enjoying this rotation and our daily check-ins. I was thinking about taking a 10 lb weight with me and working one body part per day as much as I could, and then going for a run on the beach. What do you guys think?

OMG I talked a lot! hehe

Thanks anyways - I got a couple of suggestions to check out - Target and one other one have stores in Maine.

Rest up for tomorrow and then off we go for a killer workout. I forget what we do tomorrow?

Shoulders and MIC was much easier for me than S&H Legs and Step & Intervals. That third MIC section is a killer, though.

>Anyway after those jumps and I am gasping for air, Cathe says, "oh I want to go faster(harder?), what do you say?" I always think, "what are you nuts?!!!"

Me, too, Dorothy.

My three-year-old daughter sat on my step while I was doing the weight work and "lifted" without any weights. Pretty impressive form, I must say--although it's probably a lot easier when you're only lifting air.

Enjoy your rest day today, everyone!
