Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YOU WANT!

punky3333

Cathlete
Is anyone trying her June rotation? Is there a check-in post for people who want to do it together?

I did day 1 of the rotation today and woohoo! After S&H legs, my legs were totally dead. Then you want me to do what? Step & Intervals. I started doing the steps and then boom, right near the beginning she has power 7's (in fact there are freakin' power x's all over the place in that workout). I wasn't sure my legs were going to hold.

I pushed myself through - some mod on interval 1 & 3 blasts, but made it through.

I could sure go for a nap this afternoon though. This is the first time I've done weights first and then cardio. Very different feeling. I'm not sure I like it, but I'm going to reserve judgement until I've tried it a bit longer.

So how did everyone else do on Day 1?

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1

Hi! I'm going to do the rotation too. It would be nice to have a check in. Today I did the same as you and feel the same as you!
TIRED! LOL! This was the first time I did Step and intervals(just got CTX) and I thought it was really fun. I'll be looking out for a check-in. Or maybe this could be the check in?

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1

Weren't your legs just dead after the S&H Legs? When I started Step & Intervals and she went into a Power 7 I laughed. My legs didn't want to! But they somehow made it through.

We might as well leave this as the check-in, unless someone thinks its a problem because the title doesn't have check-in.

Let me see if I can edit it.

I was literally wanting a nap at lunch time. First time I've had that problem. Maybe it was the 50 pounds on the squats that did it. First time I pushed up to that weight. Almost didn't get the bar over - lol

Hang in there!

Are we on target for tomorrow? I think its Back, Abs and....oh I forget, but I'll follow it and kill myself if you will!

hehe

Hi! I also started Cathe's June rotation and what a start it was (whew!!). My legs were fried after S&H..got up to 65lbs and then I thought "no way am i going to make it through Step & intervals" but i did make it. I'm really going to be feeling it by late tonight, I can just tell. This month's rotation looks amazing and i'm totally psyched to master it. Yippeeee!!!}(
I'll check in after tomorrow's session.

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

Hi Everyone!

Like all of you, I started the June rotation today. My legs felt really fried but got through with both the S&H Legs and CTX S&I. I will be following this week's rotation including the rest day which is a Thursday. I usually rest on Sunday, but I'll give this a try to confuse my body.

Enjoy your workout everyone and talk to you next week.

My legs are still warm and it's been 6 hours. LOL! Probably that mountain bike ride I went on yesterday didn't help. Since this was the first time I did step and intervals, I thought it was over and then came the 3 intervals! I thought "Ain't no way Cathe!" But I made it somehow. I feel pretty good really. Kind of energized!
See you all tomorrow.

Hey Nette,

Glad you could join us in our future pain and suffering! Congrats for making it through Day 1. I'm going to use the same rests as well, I think - I love working out on Saturday and Sunday because I don't have to do it at 4:30 am!

Drop by tomorrow and let us know how it went!

Take care,

Jodi (Punky):)

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

I am going to give this month's rotation a try. If the rest is anything like today, I may not make it :7 This was my first time with Slow and Heavy. I've had it for a couple of months, but have just been too busy with other things to try it. Well I only used 40 pounds for all of the leg exercises and I definetely felt it. Next time I may up the first squats to 50. But I think I was quite happy with 40 for the lunges. And then once my legs were totally toast, it's time for Step and Intervals! I was not happy with Cathe at this point. When I got to interval three I noticed my legs felt like they were stuck to the floor. And I agree, this workout has a lot of power 7s and 15s. I'd never noticed how many until today. But it was a great workout and I am excited about sticking to the whole rotation. I will probably do some cardio substituting with spinning and swimming, but I will stick with what Cathe says on the weights. See you guys tomorrow. Heather

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

okay so I didn't get the rotation till after yesterdays workout which was legs.I had done ctx one body part a day last week and wouldn't you know was going to do the same thing as cathe's rotation one part a day.except the order .I did ps chest and me chest instead of s&h {that is what I planned for next week). But anyway I did ps chest since I did legs yesterday and added me chest because I had done only the ctx and didn't add on so in a way I am a week ahead;-) and my cardio was boot camp cardio only and imax2 blast only.Still my legs were crying for mercy by the time I got done.and the sweat was rolling.

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

That was a tough one tonight. Did S&H Legs and Step & Intervals, couldn't make it through that last intervalx( . This rotation looks like a good one, just like last months.

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

Hi All:

DaisyHeather - I'm with you on the 40's for lunges. I can barely make it through at 40's - I was just soaked! hehe

Sheila - wow you are already ahead of us! hehe What is Imax2 Blast Only like? Is it just all of the Intensity Blasts one after another? If so, you are crazy and I salute you! I wouldn't even attempt that one.

Heidi - congrats on making it through. You are ahead of me because I had to modify and not finish two of the intervals.

Good luck on today's workout everyone - I'm off now to give it a shot (even though I was falling asleep all day yesterday and am still dead this morning). Onward and upward!

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

Hi, my name is Christi. I usually don't write in, just lurk, but I too am doing this rotation and only you guys know the agony of it all. Ha Ha.

Yesterday I did Slow and Heavy legs. 55lb squats, one set of 55lb static lunges, then down to 50lb for the rest. I think I will try 60 on squats next time if I can get it up over my head. Then I did ctx S&I. This was very hard, my legs didn't want to do it.

Today I will do Slow & Heavy back and abs, but I think I will substitute 10-10-10 with a 4 mile run. I am toying with the idea of training for a half marathon. We will see. I don't know if I will have the time to put into it what I will have to.

Thanks for letting me yap. Good luck to everyone today and I will check in later.

Christi

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

Hey Christi,

Glad you could come out of lurkdom and suffer with us a bit. Wow - 55 on static lunges - I am in awe!

All,

I'm glad I made it through yesterday. I was sleepy all day and was in bed by 8:30pm (isn't that sad! - hehe).

Got through the workout this morning. Did S&H back, along with the Supermans and Planks. It was a good workout. I next did 10-10-10 - that's a good little workout. Those blasts in the middle are deadly - I guess I'm still tired from yesterday. I did the ab work at the end - did Workout #1 from Ab Hits. I was worried that if I got down on the floor in the middle of the workout I wouldn't get back up.

All if all though, felt good today and have more energy. I think I might have just been dead yesterday because I wanted to start the Cathe Rotation on time, and so skipped my regular day off (which is usually Monday after a hard weekend of workouts). I'm looking forward to the Thursday rest!

Have a good day everyone and I look forward to hearing about your workouts!

Jodi (aka Punk-meister)

Hi, I am a day behind because I was taking my rest break after 6 weeks of endurance. I had planned on going into slow and heavy so this rotation is great.

I did not find day 1 that difficult. I did 50 on squats, and did lower it to 45 on static lunges. Maybe I need to up the weight. I don't do calves, never have, because mine are huge and muscular without working them.(thanks Mom).

I thought step and Interval was pretty refreshing, EXCEPT the first interval. I don't like plie jacks or jumps, but I did them anyway.

I think that working the intensity series in March, April and May has really improved my fitness. I know I could not do any of those intervals all out last fall. Now I completed them all. I also have lost 40 pounds which helps.

Everyone, good luck with day 2, I will be doing that tomorrow.

RE: Cathe's June Rotation - Week 1 - CHECKIN HERE IF YO...

Hi all!

Managed to get through today's workout of S&H Back w/ planks and superman, All Step Abs and 10-10-10 cardio. I feel more energized today than yesterday. I felt so wiped out yesterday, that I took a nap in the p.m.

Today, I went heavy on the weights, and it felt real good. I was gonna do Bootcamp Abs, but changed my mind at the last minute and decided on All Step. 10-10-10 cardio is fun, now that I can do most of the intervals.

Cya all tomorrow.

Nette

Nette - Funny - I felt so much better today too. You had a nap yesterday and I went to bed at 8pm! hehe Oh well, glad we are getting in the groove now - I couldn't take much more of that being wiped out!

Dorothy - Wow you must have done a lot of hard work with the intensities if you found Day 1 easy. Congrats to you! I will have something to look forward to one day then!

To everyone: has anyone else considered getting a weighted vest? I was just curious because at 50 lbs, I am getting close to the point I don't think I'll be able to get the barbell safely over my head. So its either a weighted vest or one of those stands for the barbell where you duck under it to pick it up. Anyone know which of the bigger chains in the U.S. sells these? We are going to Maine on vacation next week and I wanted to check out the weighted vests.

Can't wait to hear from the rest of the people. This is fun - sharing in the pain!

;)

Yesterday my legs were tired, but I felt pretty good. I think I went to bed around ten. Today was fun. I really liked 10-10-10(again, ctx & S&H are all new to me). I just did the S&H abs(I suck at Planks). I wasn't sure if I should have done extra abs. Now that all you have, I feel like I need to go back and finish my workout.LOL!:+

Forgot to add: Yes, I've been thinking about the weighted vest. I need to go look and see if I can find one, and see if I like it.
They sound neat. I lifted about 48lbs (my plates do not come in 5 #'s increments) over my head. I think I could go just a little heavier, but not much. So the vest might be a good idea.
