Cathe Rotation: Where are you all doing your Walking Lunges?

Tomorrow I will be doing those 400 walking lunges behind my home. I have pine trees surrounding my property in back so I have alot of privacy there. Anyhow brave enough to do them in public?

RE: Cathe Rotation: Where are you all doing your Walkin...

Hey Charlotte!
Not yet. I did them on the side of my house today. I get 20 each way. If I get the nerve and continue thru the back yard I could probably get 50 each way which would make it go by so much faster!:7 I'm going on vacation so maybe I'll do them in public and then brave it out and do them in my yard when I get home.
I hate doing them but I know I NEED to do them. My legs NEED me to do them! x( And when I hate something, I'm finding I actually really LOVE IT! }( Sounds weird but that's how I am.
Do you think you'll ever do them out in public?

I'm not brave enough to do them outside, only at the gym and inside my house. Oh, the neighbors would talk and I would cement in their minds that I was overobsessed with exercise.

I use the stretch of hallway that I have from the study to the kitchen. I can get in 13 straight, but if I turn and go around the kitchen island and back, I can get in 30 steps.

I just do them in the hallway of my apartment. I get 4 or 5 then turn around. I don't need much space - just keep going back and forth!

Carol,

I laughed at your comment so hard that I hit my head on the computer! LOL! You crack me up!!!! :+ :+ :+ :+

Debbie,

I wish our house was big enough for me to do them inside, but I could do them around my entire yard. I think the elderly man across from me already knows I am out there. LOL! My other neighbor did the walking lunges with me once. The other neighbors...well, I can't see them too good.

I don't really care what the neighbors think, and I don't think they would see it as bizarre anyway. We have a corner lot, so I did them on the sidewalk around the corner and back again, with my dog roaming around me looking for bunnies. Tomorrow I will do the same as I am doing Friday's work out tomorrow!

I do mine in church parking lot right by my house and I couldn't care less what ANYBODY thinks!!

I make a path through my house and into the backyard which is pretty private. I have to remember to look down when I'm outside because I have 3 large dogs and want to avoid the poop! x(
Today, at lunch I'm going into a very large empty office and banging out most of today's workout and then after work I will meet up with my sister to do some hill walking. I told her that she would have to do the walking lunges up the hills with me, she didn't sound so thrilled. Have a great workout, SueM

RE: Cathe Rotation: Where are you all doing your Walkin...

I was thinking about doing them on the indoor track of the gym, but then I hesitated because it goes around ALL of the equipment (treadmills, steppers, bikes, etc.) I felt like a whimp.... I just did them in the small boxing room and did five, turned around, did five, etc.
But now that I think about it.... I am an instructor and people look very closely at what I do when I workout during non-class times. Maybe I will motivate more people to do other stuff besides classes if they see me doing the lunges.... Hmmm....I may be on to something there.....
What do you guys think? Should I endure the embarrassment for the sake of others?x( :+

Marietta and Dorothy,

I know, none of us should care what we look like. Your both right! Most of the time I don't and the older I get the less I care anyways.

I did mine on the treadmill on a slow speed. I thought about doing it in our front yard but the ac won me over.

I thought that 400 walking lunges would be a horror, but actually it was not bad at all.

A member of my gym and I were at it 5:15 this morning. Started out with a 5 min. walk on the treadmill, then upstairs for 400 walking lunges...whew. Caught out breathe and went right into 200 jjacks. I had to modify the last 50....oh my, all that jumping. The both of us were drenched with sweat and could barely see....counted for 20 secs. or so and went straight to push-ups.....8 sets of 8. I HATE dips (I think she does also), so we almost completed 4 sets of 25 of lying ext....could only use 8#.....OUCH.

When she left, I don't know what got into me, but I did 3 sets each of leg extensions and hamstrings.....40# each 12 reps.

I know I really worked hard this morning and my legs are fine.

In my driveway for all to see. My neighbors probably think I'm crazy anyway. They have seen me running, jumproping, playing hoopes, throwing the softball, and playing volleyball. I get cheers of encouragement from some of them as they drive by. :)

I do them on the indoor track at work. All I got to do is go half a lap and have them all done. Then I walk/jog the rest of the way. For some reason, people see me doing this and decide to play follow the leader, so I end up with about 5 or 6 behind me doing the exact some thing. Which the other PTs love to joke about, or just stand there and watch.

This is what I do when my daughter is at karate at the sport complex. I use the indoor track to walk and jog. I them do walking lunges on the side. I can get about 50 in one direction. It is so cool I am finish in no time but the thighs are burning.;)
