Cathe nutrition vs any free nutrition plan?

I have been entering my food into the go wear fit plan, but i'm interested in entering it into the cathe nutrition thing. Can you tell me the main benefit from the free sites vs this one?

Cathe's site had the report card where it tells you which nutrients you are lacking in or getting too much of. It's a very cool tool but I found I was obsessing over trying to get "straight A's" and lost sight of why I was really using it which was to track my calories and p/f/c's.

I have used fitday in the past and currently use sparkpeople and find that they are both suit my needs just fine. That being said, I let the Cathe nutrition plan expire....

I am not saying it's a bad program. It's EXCELLENT. It was just more then I was looking for so why spend the money?
 
I currently have a subscription to Cathe's nutrition program. It is a wonderful program but like fit_mommy, I was obsessing over getting straight A's. I got my gowearfit a couple of days ago and have been logging my food there. I am finding that I really like it! It is a little more user friendly and you can print report. However it doesn't not focus on overall nutrient/vitamin intake. I've never used any of the free programs so I can't speak to them.

Personally, I think I will let my Cathe subscription expire and continue to use the GWF program just because I am already paying for it.
 
I had a subscription to Cathe's nutrition program last year and used fitday and sparkpeople before. Whereas I really liked Cathe's program like others I started obesessing over getting As, spending way to much time playing around with it and thinking about food.

I personally do much better if I don't use any of those programs because when I do it makes food the center of my universe. I ended up totally changing my diet and not counting calories, protein, fat or carbs at all and it's the best thing I ever did for my weightloss and fitness. Everyone is different though.
 
I love that Cathe's plan gives you a grade, it really helps to me eat better. I don't worry about all A's. I find I do plan my meals so I am getting better grades and if all else fails I take a vitamin. I found it interesting that you can get too much of a vitamin and it let's you know that also. I tried Cathe for one month before I signed up for a year. I think that's the safest way to see if you will use it. I also have gwf but find I am on Cathe's site more so I am more likely to use it.

What I liked so much about Cathe's program was knowing I did not have to take so many vitamins! I cut back so much after finding out what foods provided the right nutritional intake for me. I really feel much better knowing I got in the correct amount of vitamins and minerals. Not sure what free programs cover this but I love Cathe's program and will probably renew after 5 more months..:)
