Okay, we went for our first ultrasound yesterday in our fourth month. No scheduled visit with the OB. But, the nurse (?) stated that there were abdominal calcifications and had the OB meet with us. Showed us the picture where we could see small white dots in (or around) the abdomin. Now, my understanding is that the calcifications are calcium deposits caused by lack of vascularity. But, all else "looked good and was normal". So, in your experience, is there anything to fear? EVERYTHING I have read on line indicates 50% mortality, and lots of other strange things. But, the OB said the calcification would only be a concern if other abnormailities were present. He also stated that he is not concerned with it...seen worse. So, why did he schedule a visit to the perientologist? This is our first child, my wife is adopted with no family history. Should I be worried and what is the possible problem(s)?
