Yesterday, Toronto experienced our first weather warning of 2008. A lot of people stayed home because of icy road conditions. I was one of them.

Since this was unscheduled @ home stay, I got quite bored and chatted a lot on the net. Then, I put in my scheduled workouts which led to my next activity. Inventory taking.

So I sat down and cleaned up my closet and counted how many pair of WORKOUT shoes n socs and shorts and gear I had. Then, I started couting all the DVDs and VHS from various trainers that I collected over the past 10 years (Started with Tae Bo in 80s - my sister purchased that one but now I own it since she is size 18 and doesn't workout anymore).

Anyway so here is a total of what I have (I am sure I have miscounted somewhere).

300 VHS and DVDs (not workouts, DVD discs!!!!!)
16 pairs of workout shoes (5 of them Ryka. Only 1 New Balance the rest Nikes)
8 pairs of BRAND NEW (i.e. still pkg never used) workout socks.
25 existing pairs of socks
12 sports bras (I change these every 3 months - think money!!)
8 sport shorts (Thank you Winners and Walmart!)
28 t-shirts and tank tops
12 hair bands (moisture absorbant)

Oh gosh! Where did all that money come from???????????

Is anyone else this crazy or do I seriously need help here?

Update: Oops, forgot to mention stability balls - I have 3 flated and 1 deflated, brand new still in the box - came with Gunnar Peterson's Core workout.

And of course, don't have to mention the barbells and the weights, steps, risers, resistant bands, pull up bars etc.,

It adds up pretty quick, doesn't it?

I don't dare count - DH would find out and take away my credit card!!

It's like those Visa card commercials, $XX for this, $XX for that. Being in good health...priceless!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

Are you a pack rat by any chance? Cause thats what it sounds like! hehe:) Are the deflated balls any good? And all those shoes, they can't possibly be wear able, can they?
As soon as I am done with my shoes, they are gone out the door. I only have 2 pairs of shoes on the go at a time. One for running and one for step.
My workout dvds are all Cathes. I got rid of anything I haven't used. They say if you haven't used it in a yr, get rid of it.

Lori:)

Jonahnah .. I love your reminder! Absolutely great response!
I feel better ... and, I will tell everyone else who tells me "how many of these will you collect" (I was discussing with my mom about adding P90X Plus series and STS - and she asked me the question - LOL!!)

Thanks!!!
:)

Lori - nope, all the equipment is good and in working condition - I trash worn out stuff in 3 months so I don't think I qualify as a pack rat. Maybe a shop-a-hollic. I think. Or is it obsessed? Hmmmm... ???

i have my workout shoes that i dont wear outside the house and a pair of neglected running shoes. quite a few sports bras but i don't mind the UNI-boob and get the 3 for $10 at wal-mart,a good 20 pairs of socks for just working out same with shorts. i have a ton of dvds/vhs from various sources but i am starting to purge(for list of currently owned workouts yes i am that crazy!!! http://www.angelfire.com/vamp/ldy_solana/FitnessVideos.html ) dummies from 2lbs up to 30lbs, 320lbs total in plates, 2 straight barbells and one tricep bar. 3 steps(club step, high step and smaller home step)medicine balls from 2lbs-12lbs. 10 resistance tubes(different lenghts,strengths,2 figure 8 ones and a cuff one),at LEAST 5-6 resistances bands.3 yoga mats(i don't like to get sweat on my good yoga mat so i use the others for ab work).i have 2 sets of ankle weights, pair of gliders, and the yoga burn yoga gloves with the little weight inserts, a pilates ring, and 4 binders with fitness stuff from rotations,eating/exercising tips, and workouts from various magazines.

not sure how i afforded all this but i know i shopped alot at ross,tj maxx, tuesday morning, and play it again sports. not to mention the good yard sales and thrift stores.
