Morning BB's,

Today will be Imax2. I was doing PS BB last night, the only thing I don't like about that workout is that Cathe doesn't tell you what weights she is using. I went back to the last time I used this workout and had to up all the weights. }( Made my day!! The bicep curls at the end where killers, but I finished. x(

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good morning,

Today is a packed day for me. Lots of meetings, then I have a biology test right after work. I'm going to try to study around meetings :) That's a benefit to having my own little office!

I haven't been feeling quite like myself lately, so I think I'm going to lay off my high-impact workouts for a few days. I've been doing extra long, extra tough workouts now for a few months straight, and I think my body is saying "stop!" I felt awful yesterday, and by the time I got home from class, I just ate dinner, studied a bit and went to bed feeling drained. I'm taking Friday off though, and tomorrow after work my boyfriend and I are driving down to Indiana to visit friends and relax a little. It'll be a nice, though short, break.

Anyway, enough complaining from me! This morning I did 20 minutes of Jennifer Kries' Method pilates, then Bryan Kest Power Yoga. Do any of you have any beginner/intermediate pilates or yoga to recommend? I realized this morning how tight my muscles are. I definitely don't stretch enough.

Take care everybody,

Ellen

Laurie great job on your workout as usual!

Ellen good luck on your test! I am not feeling well today either. Mine isn't workout related, though. I have quite an upset stomach and have spent considerable time in the bathroom (sorry for TMI lol).

The good news is that Mace's paws look much better today. I've been giving him lots of cow's ears to keep him busy-they are his favorite chew toy. :)

Not sure what's on the agenda for me. I am going "up north" with 2 girlfriends on Friday and have a lot of work to finish first. Darn job-wish I was independently wealthy!

Have a great day gals!

Hi - I'm a Wisconsin native living in New York and I stalk your posts. I really enjoy the Ali McGraw Yoga Mind and Body workout. It's great for beginners but still challenging, offers a great series of asanas and has a really great instructor. I recommend it highly.

Hi, girls! Today my butt was still sore so decided Lowmax would be a BAD idea. Pulled out Supersets and did the upper premix going as heavy as I could and then went back and did abs. It was a shorter workout than normal but better than nothing, right?

Laurie - Congrats on upping your weights!

Ellen - I have a couple of yoga/stretching workouts but I hardly ever do them. It's something I've tried to get into but because of time constraints they usually just sit there on the shelf. I do enjoy Minna Lessig's Strength & Grace but I don't know how that compares to other yoga workouts. I also sometimes record Inhale on the Oxygen channel. I also have a Tamilee Webb stretching workout I really like.

Jill - Glad to hear Mace's paws are better. Have fun "up north"!

Hi BBs,
I am still the slacker but the Nyquil is helping me get a good night's sleep. Fortunately not a real bad cold but enough to keep me from working out in the morning. I think the Nyquil is contributing to that too although I am only taking 1 capsule.

Thanks Sue for the decorator's name/number. I am looking forward to help with this final decision on the floor but also hoping for ideas on the little finishing touches for the bathroom. Unfortunately it will now be the nicest room in the house. But we have only begun!

Jill - they have stuff that can soften paws but glad they are better. You might just check with the vet to see what they recommend so Mace doesn't have problems with the cooler weather that is coming. Muggs has chafing problems by the inside of his back legs and we have used Bag Balm for that. Very stinky! I always get to be the spreader while DH holds him and it is tough to wipe that stuff off - repels water. But you wouldn't want to use that on his paws and have him track it all over. Unless he would wear little socks. :)

Hi NY25! Thanks for stopping in to our little group. I am in New Berlin (Waukesha County).

shakeubooty/Marie,
I'm from Waukesha, too!! I grew up in the Sussex/Pewaukee/Hartland triangle. All my family is still there. I've been in NY for almost 9 years.

Hi Marie. I love Nyquil lol. I'm going to watch the puppy paws closely for awhile and make sure he's okay. He's been good about not licking them today.

Hi NY25. Nice to "see" you here. Sue's not far from where you grew up. What prompted your move to NY?

Okay you guys, please bear with me. I just HAVE to vent a little. Who has Time Warner digital cable? I am so fed up with the high cost of cable! I have been thinking lately about getting rid of some of the channels, but today realized I'm already at the "cheapest" package level! $49.95 and if we watch 30 channels I'd be surprised. Now in today's mail, there is a notice of another fee increase! It's going up to $51,99 per month. I know $2 isn't a lot, but it IS a lot to pay when you dont' even watch half the stuff. I mean-there must be 100 shopping channels for pete's sake! Plus I pay $7.65 for the hd converter and another .30 for the remote. All that $$ and I don't even have any movie channels!! I don't want to go back to "regular" cable because I spent all this money on an hd tv. Which is another sore point---there are only a handful of hd channels and I'm paying $7.65 plus tax for THAT?????????

Okay, thanks for listening. I'm just so angry about this-what a monopoly!!!!!!!!

I also did IMAX 2 today. I just love that DVD. I really need to get IMAX 1 and IMAX 3. I can't wait for the new DVD to be completed. See ya all later

:7

Jill, I hear you on Time Warner. We also have the HD converter. I love watching football and the races in hd. }( But I would love all the channels to be hd. Another rip off is ESPN, if you want HD, you have to pay extra!!!! What???? So I feel your pain.

NY25, I live in the Vernon. Do you get back in this area often? If you do, let us know when you are around. :)

Laurie

Hi Jill,

Glad Mace's paws are improving. Maybe he just stepped on something that made them itch for a while?

I used to make the same complaints about cable where I used to live. Our cable bill in Indiana used to increase every other month it seemed, for no apparent reason. People used to write letters to the editor about it all the time, but there didn't seem to be a solution because, you're right, it appears to be a monopoly! We have Charter digital cable and haven't run into any price increases. If I remember correctly, I *think* all channels have to be digital by 2006. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure that's what we were told when we also were buying our digital TV. Hopefully that wasn't just a scam too!

Oh, and welcome NY25!

Ellen

Hello everyone!

Well, I'm not sure what I have on tabs for today. It is so beautiful out that I may just try and do a workout outside today!

~Ellen - good luck with the Bio test!

~Jill - cable sucks! We go back and forth on it as well and the price of it is insane!!! Vent away, because we all agree with you!!!

Talk to you later!

Hey guys I finally got a new dig cam and just tried it out. Isn't he getting big!? He's only 5 months old. I made it my new avatar lol.

Sue, next time I go out of town and can't take him, you're welcome to babysit! They are like grandchildren---fun to play with and then send home so you have some peace and quiet lol.

Oh my goodness I never check this thread but today I did and now I know why!!! To get a load of this LOVIE creature!!! I love the big ears they have when they're growing. How fun!!!

Jill - Mace is a cutie! What is he a mix of? I wish I had bought the Kodak digital. I need easy!

Re: cable - When we moved I was going to switch to DirecTV but when I called Cable they gave us a good price to stay. So at least for a year we will stay with them and then evaluate and compare.

Marie, his mom was a purebred Beagle. Not sure on the father---we think German Shepherd; he has the mask. He also has some black on his tail-other than that he's pretty much a reddish/brown all over.

Speaking of reddish/brown, I dyed my hair tonight! I used to be blonde but stopped having the highlights put in 11 months ago because I wanted to grow my hair out (which is taking FOREVER I might add). My sister does my hair and she said the dye was drying it out too much. Every time it got a little long the ends would start frying, so I stopped. I got some home dye this time and it was like a chestnut brown on the box, but it turned out a little reddish and I absolutely LOVE it! You guys will see it Monday---I'm so happy with it! It also gave my hair a little body which I'm thrilled about. My hair has been stick straight and so incredibly boring.
