Buff Badgers Tuesday

Cathlete
Good morning,

I have been a bad poster lately, hope everyone is doing well. It has been busy at work and I had a busy weekend.

I finally have a doctor's appointment today to have my ankle looked at. It's been 5 weeks and it's still not fully healed. Hopefully he has some good news. I am dying to do Cathe cardio and to go jogging! I am sure I will have to work my way back slowly though, and I am prepared to do what the doctor tells me.

How many of you are pre-ordering Cathe's new workouts? I will be, I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe tonight. I am thinking of taking advantage and ordering PS and S&H DVDs as well. I have them on VHS but find I don't like to do them because I am used to the good quality of DVDs and not forwarding and rewinding the tape now! I did IMAX a while back and the fuzzy picture quality drove me nuts!

I hope you all have a good day,

Thea

Thea-hi there! I preordered all 4 right away. I'm not sure I will like them all (Drillmax doesn't sound appealing to me) but I know I can trade or sell them. At the presale price it's hard to resist. And I totally know what you mean about dvd vs. vhs. I bought mostly vhs from ebay when I started with Cathe (after taping everything from fittv and then finding out parts were missing). It didn't take long before I sold my vhs and bought all dvd. The premixes on most of them make it well worth the cost IMO. Good luck with your ankle. :-(

Today is the day! I leave in about an hour to pick up Macey. Yay! It will be a long drive (about 3 hours roundtrip) and I hope he does okay in the car. I put his crate in the car. Since we'll be in there so long I don't want to chance him peeing or getting car sick in the car. I hope he doesn't cry in the crate!

I cleaned up the house this morning and did some stuff I won't want to do once he's home. But maybe he'll be sleepy anyway since he had his surgery yesterday. I'm already wondering how I'll shower after my workout later. Guess I'll have to take him in the bathroom with me lol.

Good morning,

Today is a rest day for me, after the insanity that was yesterday. I still feel kind of like a zombie, but I at least got some decent sleep for once! We go to press with the paper I produce this afternoon, and that'll be another sigh of relief.

Thea, I'm sorry to hear that your ankle isn't improving, but hopefully the doctor will be able to help. I preordered all of the new workouts on the first day. I work out to Cathe almost exclusively, and I know that I've paid for the DVDs I own many times over, with the number of times that I've used each one. I just haven't found another instructor who is as challenging and fun as Cathe.

Jill, I'm so excited for you!! I'm sure he'll be a good boy. Just be patient and be consistent in your training methods, and he'll catch on. They always do. I can't wait to hear how it goes.

Have a great day!

Ellen

Morning BB's,

Today will be what I had scheduled for yesterday. Just too much going on yesterday and never had the energy to work out, but tonight will be a different story. GS BBS / 30 min. Interval Run / Abs.

Thea, good luck with the ankle. Hope it gets better soon. I ordered all the DVD's, I think they all look great!

Jill, have a great time with the puppy! I just love puppies. Just wish they didn't take so much time and patience.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning Everyone!

Well, I am still doing the slim in 6 workouts. I did my Ramp it up again today, but I am definately doing Cathe tomorrow. I can only do this same workout thing for so long. I have been doing Cathe in there as well.

Thea....sorry to hear about your ankle. Let us know what the doc tells you. Hopefully it will be all good!

Jill....LOVE the pic of your puppy! I have not been on here for awhile and just saw the picture! You will have so much fun with your puppy. I found that my dog (Myah) was good training for me before I had my daughter. It is funny, I use the same commands now for the both of them.....'DROP IT'....'NO BITE'....'NO'...it is funny how many simularities there are between puppies and toddlers!!!

And as for pre-ordering, I am the same as Thea. I plan on doing it, I just have not pulled the trigger yet.

Hope you all have a great day!

I pre-ordered all 4 last night. I am hoping that she continues to have the pre-mixes on the workouts.

Thea - Sorry your ankle is still bothering you. Hope it gets better soon.

Jill - We usually shower at different times so Muggs is not alone BUT since DH travels way too much for his job (Purchasing Manager) I have had times where I needed to find ways to keep the little guy occupied so he didn't take advantage of not having supervision. I have taken him in the bathroom usually with something that will keep his attention - kong with peanut butter, rawhide.... I don't like to give him rawhides often but keep one wrapped in the freezer for use as needed. I have to distract him with a "cookie" to get it away and back into the freezer. He knows "drop" but often chooses to ignore it if what he has is too precious. Sometimes he thinks "drop" means "swallow before they take it away". Per our vet - a tired dog is a good dog! He is almost 6 now and I can take a shower without needing a diversion but it took awhile. He is part terrier which I believe comes from terror/terrorize/terrible 2s. He was a handful at times as a pup!

I think I will do Step This Way 2 and some ab work. I am not preordering. The more I looked at the discriptions the more I decided that I wanted to see them first. I don't care for the stability ball, so Butts and Guts are out. Drill Max, doesn't sound appealing. Body Max 2 may be good, but I want original cardio and weight work. I'm getting bored woth the same stuff. So I'll have to wait and see. I'm liking Christi much more for cardio!

It's a hot one hear today. Already 96 Degrees at 9 am.

Take Care,
Cynthia

Hello BB
Today was ME from FitTV and this afternoon I will do LowMax intervals 1-4....then it its off the scrub the bathroom and our back hallway's floor, yuk, but it needs to be done. Eat clean is going ok, it can always be better. I hope everyone has a great day.

Thea - Good luck at the doc's with your ankle. Hopefully you'll be back to your cardio in no time. I preordered all 4 DVDs. Too good a deal to pass up.

Jill - I read you are picking up your puppy in Sun Prairie. I'm from SP and my mom and some of my sibs still live there. Have fun with Macey (cute name)!

Marie - I just can't see Cathe NOT including premixes on her DVDs. That's 1 of the great selling points of her workouts and 1 way to justify the higher cost.

Cynthia - 96 degrees at 9 am? Ugh! You're making Wisconsin look good today:)

I'm starting week 3 of the September rotation so today was Imax3. The blasts are getting easier at least but I still need extra recovery time between intervals. Jogging on a more regular basis is defintely helping my cardio capacity.

I have DH's permission to buy a heavy bag for practicing my punches and kicks. I'm not sure if I'll want to get the boxing workouts Cathe is planning for next year but even if I don't, I plan on using it for the drills in Cardio Kicks, portions of KPC and KM or as an add-on to other workouts. The kids can use it, too, to practice their Tae Kwon Do kicks which is the main reason DH said okay.:)

Does anyone else have the new intermediate Cathes? (The ones that will be sold at Target with step and stability ball.) I find them very BLAH so far. I expected them to be easy but thought I'd see SOMETHING new! To be fair, I've only previewed the step workout and done segment 1 of the stretching workout so maybe I'll like the premixes. We'll see. Maybe I just need a Cathe break. Time to get out the Collage catalog - heehee.

Sue

Jill-Good luck with your puppy and have fun!

Robin-How do you like Slim In 6, do you find it gives good results? I almost bought it once, but I am always skeptical of non-Cathe workouts!

Did you get some info on crate training? The book by Amy Ammens - Training in No Time is good. Walmart might even carry it. Better to have him in their for short periods of time at first if you can. And take him outside right after you take him out. We found the spray bottle of water much more effective than the can with coins. Have fun! Remember the little guy is adjusting and probably confused as to where he is and why his routine has changed so be patient.

Marie gives great advice. He'll be okay; just keep in mind that he doesn't know you or where he is, so he may be scared. He'll learn that you're his new caregiver! While he was with the rescue group, was he living with other animals? If so, he may be lonely for them too. He'll come to appreciate the fact that the attention is all his now, though. Just give him a few days to adjust to you :)

Good luck!

Ellen
