Bosu for Cathe's step workout?

I have knees problems. I heard several ladies here using Bosu to replace steps in Cathe's workout. My question is will it hurt your ankle?

Bosu is half dome. I tried it in the gym. When I stepped on it, it requires more balance control than steps, which mean it needs a lot control in ankle area. When we do cathe's steps workout, the pace is not slow. How do you control your balance and not hurt the ankle? I am thinking buying one. But it is so expensive. I want to make sure it won't hurt me before I make the buy.

TIA

I would love to know the answer to this question also. I used a bosu when doing physical therapy for my knee so I know what you mean about the unstable surface. Tracey Staehle used a bosu for her latest workout (her clips are up on her website), so I can see how it works for some moves. How does it work when you have to pivot though, like on a ricochet? It's great for helping to stabilize the muscles around the knee, but like you I don't want twist my ankle.
Someone wrote that they use for the high impact jumping stuff (tuck jumps, airjacks) and they love it because it saves their joints.

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I have a Bosu, and you have to be careful what workouts you use it for. I would not use it for most of Cathe's workouts because of the turning and speed. However, I do use it for Drillmax.

I also recommend several workouts made specifically for Bosu cardio -Rob Glicks Bosu Cardio Fusion, and a CIA workout called Double Cardio, which has 2 workouts. One is a kick butt cardio workout on the Bosu.

Most of the time I use my Bosu for stabilization and core work. I love to adapt Cathes' ab workouts for the bosu.

I have yet to find a great step workout that can be safely adapted to the bosu. Again, I think the best options are the workouts made specifically for the bosu.
Also, Amy Bento is coming out with a workout for the bosu this fall, just in case you are interested.:)

I use the BOSU for all of Cathe's high step cardio segments. I think it's fun, and it definitely has improved my balance and my core. I have never suffered (thankfully) from knee or ankle problems, so I can't comment on that - but since using the BOSU, I haven't experienced any either.

Give it a try!
