Books, Resources, Research

I have skimmed her Forever Strong playbook. I need to read her Forever Strong book. And get into her podcast.
So many good books, so little time LOL.

I am still reading Forever Strong book. It is a practical focus book. Medical and scientific terms are kept at a minimal level. Well explained. I am actually enjoying reading many facts and data.

I love the podcast.

For many, it is just another campaign to sell programs and many supplements. What she is advocating for was already acknowledged by many --- not really new. Despite the eat less fat, less carb and do more cardio promotion geared towards women, many were muscle focused with cardio and nutrition. Dr Gabrielle lyon is being more vocal and it is up to anyone to take or leave her recommendation and/or her program.

@rhbrand In my opinion. Anyone into Cathe lifting training for years is already practicing what Forever Strong book is advocating for. At least from the training part of the regimen.:p:p:p
I think most Cathletes are doing more than what is recommended to general population.

A new good book about Fascia:

David Lesondak
The Fascia Connection: Discover the Key to Flexibility, Vitality, and Pain-free Living
Balance / Sheldon Press, 2026

Interesting to read about BOUNCING as one of the recommended exercises:

“Before you’re tempted to go get a trampoline or pull out your rebounder, you need to know that’s not the same thing at all. As fun as those items are to use, it’s the springiness of the woven material that absorbs the force and propels you in the opposite direction; so it’s the fabric of the device that is doing the recoil and the bounce, not the woven collagen of the fabric of your body. To use your fascia to bounce and increase resiliency, you need more gravity.”
