Bikram Yoga

The stinky factor: don't wear any chemicals, including deodorant to class so you can sweat - its not stinky unless it hits clothes I think...but be clean as ya can..we have a floor that is antimicrobial and doesn't stink up like carpet can..I agree that "the series" can get tedious, so I mix it up..and we added a class called""hot vinyasa"" - which is yoga in heat and I use what I learned from Doug Swenson (the yoga teachers' yoga teacher!)...some folks like the same old routine every class - I like variation....so come to see me in Williamsburg!!! And don't be intimidated, if you can do Cathe, you can do hot yoga!

I have been to a few classes and I loved them. I did feel like I was going to yak towards the end so I just went to child's pose and waited it out. The instuctor told me my first time to try not to leave the room. I felt better after backing off a bit. It was wonderful to go into the stretches so far. I did get dehydrated the first time but did not realize what my terrible headache was from until I read more about it. The other times I went I drank gatorade before going and did not get the headache. I have only been about 4 times because the only studio is pretty far for me but I did really like it and I would definitly say it is a great w/out plus very relaxing, well once it's over. I don't understand how you would do this at home unless you have a sauna because it is a dry heat, (right?) not just hot. But I do recommend any yogis to try it!

I must admit that it definately does not smell like roses in there. But I don't notice it during the class. i just notice it when I walk in the back to get my stuff and then have to walk back through the room to get to the exit. STINKY STINKY...but i dont think that it is just the room, i know that I don't smell very pretty after leaving there, but i am going to look damn good after burning all those calories!! HEHEHE :*
