Bikini Countdown 4/20

Hello to everyone.

I hope everyone is having a better day than I am. You know it's going to be rough when you wake up and step in dog vomit.x( Couldn't find anything to wear, kept running into everything, tried to fix myself oatmeal to convince myself that I will like it (but I still hated it and threw it out), then get halfway down the road and realize my frozen lunch is still sitting on the kitchen table so even though I only had 5 mins to get to work I turned around and went back to get it. That was all before I even got to work. Anyway, I went to step class last night and wasn't really into it much. There was a new girl in the class and I felt bad for her because she just couldn't get the routines. Most of the time when that happens you will never see them again in the class because they are too frustrated that they can't do it. Tonight is the body bar class. I bought me some new workout shoes (the same New Balance 609 that I had before) and I thought that they would be more supportive in the arch but they don't seem to be. I'd had my other NB for at least 2 years and that's why I thought I needed to get new ones. Well I guess that's all I have to say today for now. Everyone have a great day.

Good afternoon everyone~

Wow Kim, that's a pretty terrible way to start the day. The only good thing is it can only get better when it starts that badly! Here's to hoping for a brighter tomorrow sans the dog vomit.x(

Today I did HIIT using Imax1 (jumping/lunges/plyo jacks) and I'm going to do abs and back as soon as I get a chance this afternoon. Yesterday was ME, pretty low key.

Not much else to report on today- the weather is beautiful and the kids are starting to get back into a routine.

Sabine, are you getting to relax? Pinky, are you still enjoyin the pleasures of home sweet home?

One month to go and I'll be by the pool in Vegas relaxing and doing whatever it is that's supposed to stay in Vegas. I'll start shopping for a bikini in 2 weeks...

Hellos to Judy, Tracy, Lisa, Joy, Shywolf & Lori.

Kim--Oh, what a bummer morning! I hope you can laugh (smile?) about it now. I hate mornings like that...was not finding something to wear worse than the dog vomit? The overflowing yet empty closet delimma can be maddening! As for shoes, have you tried using inserts? I love the Spenco cross-training inserts. They add cush and arch support. Have a fun and releasing time in your class.

I ended up doing PUB (and the abs! did all the pikes!) with the SB Challenge twice (does anyone know where the stats are on the Body Blast premixes are?). I don't know how long of a cardio that was, but it felt long enough! Not exactly a HIIT, but I think it was all I could handle last night...especially since I just wanted to go to sleep instead of working out.

Brenda, I saw over on the HIIT vs. IT thread that HIIT should only last 30 minutes. Would a run at 7-7.5 mph on the treadmill for 30 seconds and then a jog at 5.5-6mph for 30 seconds for 30 minutes be intense enough? I'm concerned I'm not truly HIITing it. TIA for the advice.

I'll check in later. Have a great day everyone!

CinDee, from what I gather true honest-to-goodness HIIT should only be 15-20 minutes in length. You could do 30 sec high intensity and one minute of recovery- the actual high intensity does need to be as tough as you can physically handle. Maybe 5.5mph but at an incline. When you're recovering you should be wiped out but then ready to do it again. I need to invest in a heart monitor to make sure I'm getting where I need to be, too. I think you'll feel it though when you reach it! Good luck:) !

BTW, Sabine, I just checked yesterdays posts- bluffs? Where are you staying?
