Bikini Countdown 4/12

Good morning- hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

I for one had a very pleasant weekend but was a total bust with diet and working out. Except for some ab work I didn't do anything I felt like I was wearing heels all weekend (actually, I was). I finally sat down last night and had to rub my own feet to get the kinks out.

THEREFORE, today I'm getting serious again w/clean eating and working out. Here's what I'm doing this week:

Mon - Imax1/2 combination (HIIT). I'm going to pick the harder intervals, do a short rest in between w/lo aerobics, move on to another hard interval, continue till I do at least 12 high intensity segments. I'm thinking plyo jumps, ski jumps, sumos, skaters, scissors, jumping in place w/arm circles(repeat). Then ME or SuperSets.

Tues - S&H Biceps/Triceps. MIC floor only.

Wed - S&H Legs/Shoulders. Run hills (HIIT).

Thurs - S&H Chest/Back. MIC step only.

Fri - Repeat Monday.

Sat - Step Blast.

Sun - rest.

Ugh. I'm so tired right now I can't imagine going through this, but I'm sure once I am eating better and drinking water I'll be up for it.

Shywolf, did you post your before/after pictures? I'd love to see them! Question- how hard is it to get your 50lb bar up to your shoulders? I like to do squats w/this weight but am afraid I'm going to kill myself lifting it over my head. Any suggestions?

Lori, I have PILES of winter clothes that I took out of everyone's rooms and placed them in one- there aren't enough tupperware containers in the world to make sense of this mess. What can be worn again, who can wear it next year, what is worth passing down to other families, what's too worn to save... I need to go through it today because its taking over the room. This is the thing I hate most about the change of seasons:-(

Lisa, glad your boys are back! Are things getting back to normal yet?

Hellos to Sabine, Joy, Pinky, Elizabeth, Kim & Tracy. Hope you didn't eat as much Easter candy as I did... I think I'm in sugar withdrawl right now.

Good Day Everybody!:) (Its not morning here anymore)
I had a good weekend.I got my workouts in,eating went well, other then that it was a pretty lazy weekend.DH has the flu so you know what men are like when they are sick. All we did was stay home and look at the four walls.I found any excuse I could, just to go to the drugstore(b/c it was the only thing open)
I just got home from a 16 kms run.It is a beautiful day here.It seemed a little chilly but wasn't when I started running.I am going to work my abs now shortly.
I started BFL faithfully today.Last week was just a warm up:) I ordered the Eating For Life book so I am hoping that there will be some good recipes in there.Which also means that I have to go to the grocery store today and pick up some odds and ins.
I will check back later, hopefully everyone will burn off the choc that they ate this weekend!:)

Yep, Lisa, coming home is always nice. We were gone for only two days but it felt like a week! Plus we came home with twice as much stuff as we went with...mostly candy and presents! The candy isn't calling to me too loudly and as long as I have some sort of low-fat, reduced-sugar snack in the house I won't eat it. But I'll have to ration it out to my boys!

Brenda, the weekend wasn't good nutrition-wise for me, either! Today is a new day! I think I'll join you on ME and some sort of interval or hard cardio. Tomorrow I'll try the HIIT on the treadmill at the Y. The rest of the week will probably stay endurance with ME again and one of the PP or SS premixes.

Check in later. Gotta hit the road. Have a great day!

Hi everyone,

I was visiting my sister over the weekend and got back fairly late yesterday. I'm soooo tired. Eating went completely to heck! On Saturday night we went to this restaurant which serves the BEST steak cheeseburgers and homemade fries. Then it was off to the movies with lots of snicky snacks! Sunday we went for an Easter brunch at the local Hyatt and it was amazing. They had a pancake/waffle/baked goods bar, a cold salads/seafood bar, a hot food/eggs/meat/roast beef bar, a fresh fruit bar, and the piece de resistance, a dessert bar with no less than 4 varieties of cheesecake, this insane chocolate cake, a pecan turtle cake, a tiamisu cake, a carrot cake, 3 varieties of tarts, a sundae bar, and chocolate covered strawberries. I admit it, I pigged out! Only had a protein shake for dinner (was still so full) and am trying to get back on the good eating wagon today. This will be tough as I got lots of Easter candy and treats.

I did okay with workouts over the weekend. Saturday I did Slow and Heavy Legs and Shoulders with 45 lbs. WOW!! My legs were quaking! And yet I did pretty good and felt the DOMS the next day. Sunday night I did Tamilee Webb's Total Stretching for Flexibility and Stress Release for Beginners. This morning I started week 2 of the April rotation so it was Step Works. Had a lot of fun with this one.

Brenda- To answer your question about getting a heavy barbell over your head on to your shoulders. I don't extend my arms all the way up when getting the barbell overhead. I get it up high enough and I kind of duck my head underneath, then work it down to a comfortable part of my shoulders. HTH!

Lisa- Glad your boys are back and that they had such a good time!

I'm going out of town again this coming weekend into next week for my mom's birthday. While it will be good to get away, I can't drag all my fitness toys around so will be doing pretty light workouts for a few days. Since I'm in the mood to challenge myself these days this is not a welcome break.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello to all.
I'm so glad today is a new day. I did good until Saturday night when we ordered italian food from my favorite restaurant here in town call "Moonlight" and I got the toasted ravioli with house salad. Their raviolis are homemade and about as big around as your fist. I ate all but one (7). I had also bought a bunch of candy on friday to make this Butterfly cake for my husband to take to work on Monday. But I got into the jelly beans Saturday afternoon. Oh did I mention I made pecan bars Friday night which were 4pts a piece for a 1" square - OOOOH but they were good? So anyway the Butterfly cake recipe on uses half the batter and then you use the rest to make cupcakes (just what I need). Then yesterday we met my husband's family at Outback Steakhouse at 2pm for lunch. Did good. Then went home and even thought I was still full I decided I needed to eat something for dinner so I had a handfull of jelly beans, 2 cupcakes and spaghetti O's and meatballs. I feel like crap today from all the sugar I've eaten. Plus this week is TTOM so I think that's why I'm never satisfied with what I'm eating. Sorry to go on and on about that it was kind of long. Tonight is kickboxing that is if the sugar withdrawal doesn't zap all of my energy. Well hopefully tomorrow I'll be in better control. I need to stop baking on the weekends.
Have a great day!!!

OK, I did my HIIT this afternoon and I both hate it and love it.

I stretched and did some light cardio to warm up then started Imax2: Interval #4 x2, int #5 x2, int #7 x2, int #8 x2 and then (you won't believe it) int #9 x 6!! I just kept rewinding, doing jumping jacks and would start again until I could NOT do it anymore. I was surprised that I could do it, but I think if you're not doing the whole tape (which already has you working for 50 minutes) then you have the energy to put into the HIIT.

It really isn't that bad- think of running to the top of a hill. Its really hard but you know once you get to the top you can take a short breather. Its would also be MUCH easier if I had a DVD!

I finished w/ME and feel pretty good despite my lack of activity for the last 3 days.:-(

Eating hasn't been bad either (so far)- its usually the night that is my downfall!

Hope everyone is well- I'm glad I'm not alone w/the nutritional abandon.

Judy- forgot to say hi to you earlierx( - Have fun on the college tour!

Hi Gals;
Well I'm just now able to get online to checkin with you all.

Today was Step Works and I'm following the 2nd week of Cathe's April rotation. I'm just beat from all the stuff I did today not to mention I have my kids home from school this week for spring break. Read: constant refereeing on my part between my 13 & 11 yr old ...it just so happens it's TOM for my 13 yr old and I can't tell you how often I have to tell my 11 ~ almost 12 yr old son to just leave her alone during her moon time. Ugh!

Brenda to answer your question on how I lift my bar with 50 # I lift it in 2 progressive moves ...once up to my chest then I take a deep breath, bend my knees a bit then quickly lift it over my head onto my shoulders. It takes some concentration and seriousness LOL.

I'm thinking that I 'can possibly do it up to 60 but no more' my upper body is just not as strong as my lower.

Well I'm sorry to be a 'party popper' but I'm extremely tired and I still have a load of whites to fold and put away, not to mention bathing my 5 yr old for her bedtime. So I'll see you all tommorrow . Hope you all have a fantastic evening :)
