BIGGEST LOSER> On Tonight!!!

This is a late post on the show since I tape stuff during the week and veg on the couch to watch what I taped on the weekends. My opinion - The Apprentice is MUCH better! I thought it was a little boring, but I will continue to watch it. Another thought - I thought the trainers were a little over the top with the first intro to exercising being sending these 350+ lb. guys running up a mountain! There is no concept about exercise being fun - just torture! How many people are going to watch this show and come away thinking they have to exercise like that to be successful with losing weight?!!!!! I'd be thinkin', "if I have to exercise like THAT, forget it!!!! I'll stay fat!" I had very mixed feelings about it, but will keep watching for the fascination factor.

I don't watch this show but I did see it last week...well part of it...I watched the airplane challenge...NUTS! I would NOT do that! I felt really bad for the girl who was deathly afraid to go up. I'm the same as her...I HATE flying! NO WAY!

It's pretty cool though that you can achieve weightlessness like that...I didn't realize that! If I were not prone to motion sickness it WOULD be a pretty cool thing to be able to do...I must admit that! ;)

I watched the show (off and on) and my heart went out to every single one of them. Granted, some of being overweight is self-imposed(training your body to be fat by allowing yourself to go into starvation mode or not eating) and environmental, but another part of it really has to be genetic (poor metabolism)...for your body to have the ability to get that large. I think, for every pound they do lose, they are all winners on the way to a healthier lifestyle. I can't imagine what their life is like...(not fitting in airline or regular chairs etc...) Their life must have been so tough. I am really cheering them all on!:)

Okay, I've never seen the show, but it sounds interesting. Just tell me that they lose the weight slowly and sensibly over many months, while exercising and eating well, and I'll watch.

If it's some sort of starvation lose 20 lbs. in 10 days thing (then gain it all back as soon as the show's over), I just can't watch.

They don't lose it slowly, but they don't starve, either. The calorie range for women is 1200-1500, and for the men 1500-2000. Their workouts are over the top, and I get the feeling they are going to be tempted by being led into a room full of junk food to see if anyone caves. In 10 days, some of them lost 28 lbs. - but they were VERY overweight. The biggest guy started out at 401 lbs.
