BFFM ?on calories

I'll be the first to admit math is not my strongest subject, but I'm trying to figure out what calories I should consume according the formula in BFFM. It just doesn’t seem right. Could someone please double check my calculations? Thanks so much.

current weight: 93 pounds = 204.6 kg
height: 5'3" = 160 cm
age: 36 (will be soon)

655 + 204.6 + 160 - 169.2 = 850.4 calories.

I'd die on only 850 calories!!

Hi Susan.

The part where you went wrong was you should have divided your weight by 2.2 instead of multiplying. Therefore:

Current weight: 93 pounds = 42.27 kg
Height: 5'3" = 160.02
Age: 36

655 + (9.6 X wt in kg = 42.27) + 1.8 X ht in cm = 160.02) - 4.7 X 36 = 169.20) = 1,051 calories (BMR). You also didn't state how often you work out and at what intensity. BFFM also needs you to factor in your activity level. Assuming you work out in the very active range, you would need to multiply your BMR X 1.725 totalling 1,814. This would be your TDEE (maintenance).

You should feel a lot better now know that you know you don't have to starve yourself! Remember, Burn the Fat, FEED the Muscle!

Thank you SO much, Marcy! I knew I was calculating something wrong. 1,800 calories is about where I'm at.
