Belly Blahs

I have had it with my belly. Or should I say my two bellys. This is my problem area. I don't think I will ever rid myself of it. I have read through old posts about this and want to complain too. After my c section in 2003, I developed a lovely overhang. How much clean eating and cardio has to be done? I just want to vent here. Sorry. I am glad my routine has paid off with other areas of my body or else I may think what is the point? I already feel better! Melissa

Hi. I am very familiar with the "belly blahs". I have had them for years! lol It is the one part of my body that no matter how I try, I have never been completely happy with. Prior to my pregnancy I was OKAY with the way my stomach looked but far from thrilled. Now, well, it appears to be a totally different shape so who knows...maybe once I have built up the muscle again, I will like it...only time will tell...Best of luck getting the stomach that you desire! :)

I feel the same way about that horrible area between my butt and my thighs. It is impossible to fix. Horror and more horror. Has never looked right. Probably never will. And I will probably never "accept" it or "appreciate" it or stop complaining!!!

My belly is fine, one of my best parts, and still there is much to complain about so, see? Even a great set of abs does not guarantee happiness. Hope this is helpful. :+

My belly is not my best part either, 2 babies, 2 c-sections. I think the best we can do is get at a nice weight that you are happy with, exercise, eat right, and camaflouge it with clothes, and show off your good parts. Unless you want a tummy tuck. :)

Boy this hits home. I've put on a little of the weight I lost, but when I was at my thinnest last fall (125 lbs, 5'4.5", size 2/4), I still had the overhang. I couldn't lose any more weight, and decided 130 is my best weight-any less and I look older/wrinklier and gaunt in the face. I have decided it's just the price I paid for my 2 wonderful sons (both c sections also).

I have surgery overhang too...three c-sections and then two surgerys. All five surgeries used the same initial cut. Not pretty, but it is bikini line and could be worse.

Another one here with that overhang. It's like my saddlebags. If I do a lot of cardio and eat very clean, it gets smaller but doesn't completely go away. I don't believe it will. Just like stretch marks, it's part of being a mom. I don't like it, but it's there. I can, however, live with it. The musculature underneath the overhang is tight. With the right clothes, no one will ever have to know.

Thanks for the replies! I am a master at clothing camo. I guess I have no excuse now to get a case of beer, dozen donuts and box of cigarettes for a pity party. Just kidding. Melissa

If you get those pity party supplies, I'll come over and party with ya!!! lol :p

The beer sounds awesome-nothing like a really cold beer in the summer time!:D The donuts...well, they speak for themselves! :9 The cigarettes sound TEMPTING as I quit just over 1 year ago. }(

Pinky - I think you're too hard on yourself. I don't notice anything wrong with any part of your body when I look at your pics. You look great.

I've NEVER had a flat stomach, but I'm very good at holding it in when I need to. Since I've been doing Cathe workouts these past four years, it's gotten MUCH better, but I still have a pooch, and as I get older, my skin is starting to sag there. Lovely.

Thanks, mogambo and Lora. I really do have that overhang. The shorts that I wore in the photos cover it well, but if I wear those low-cut shorts, that overhang pops out. But thanks for your kind words. It helps to see myself from another person's perspective. I live in this body every day, it's almost impossible to look at it another way.:)
