Barry's Bootcamp

Does anyone have this? Is it worth it? DH and I wanted to do P90X to improve ourselves and mostly to look good on our trip for our 10th in April:) Unfortunately due to the wonderful economy and the holidays, it is not in our budget for a while and we want to get kick started after Christmas. I saw this at Sports Authority for $60 and we just received a $25 off coupon so the price is right but I don't want to waste money even though it would only run around $40. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Have a wonderful day:)

I'm guessing it's the new one since the Academy series is OOP now. There's several threads about this workout series at VF and collage has reviews too. The general consensus, IIRC, is that it's a good, well rounded program, but more at an intermediate level. So, depending on your DH's fitness level and goals, that might affect your decision. Cindy Whitmarsh who co-leads the series with Barry has gotten universally good reviews, again based on my recollections of what's been posted. HTH.

I have the original Barry's Bootcamp and I get alot out of it. The strength portions are interspersed with abs so it forces me to work my abs. I heavy up on the upper body portions and go at my own pace and have seen great results. The cardio portions are pretty intense, but sometimes I'll just sub in my own cardio. I've previewed the newer BBC and it looks alot less intense so I passed on buying it. I got the original set for $30 and it was well worth it!

Thanks for the info. I imagine it is the original, the one that comes with the 3 DVDs, the ball, and bands. I know the resistance portion my DH would have to up in weight but the cardio he may be fine with(or not be able to take). He HATES cardio. So this may be for us. Thanks again, wish us luck!

The original Barry's Bootcamp is five DVD's and doesn't come with a ball or bands, just dogtags ;-) I have that one and really like it a lot.
