Band for Back

Mar

Cathlete
Hi all - I have a metal beam in my basement and was wondering if you think I can do lat pull-downs using the band and beam. Any suggestions on how to do the exercise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mar:)

Sounds like a good idea. I'd be afraid it could snap though. Maybe tubing would be sturdier and plus they come in different degrees of difficulty.

They use tubing as a modification in P90X. I don't know about the bands, but maybe if you wrapped a towel or something over the beam so that the band is protected from being cut and therefore snapping...then it might work.

I would try leather staps. Maybe two belts at first. You can go to a sporting good store and get the straps. I would NOT use bands or tubing. Now I only say this b/c I truly care for my fellow Catheites, but when I read that my mind screamed "DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!"
The towel idea would work.

I just wouldn't want you to fall on your tooshy and not be able to workout for a week. That would be a MAJOR tragidy!
