Hi Ladies!

I invite you ladies to check out www.armyofwomen.org

This is a research initiative by Dr. Susan Love and Avon to hopefully get 1 million volunteers to fight breast cancer. They want healthy women, women with a family history, women without, women from all walks of life. Dr. Love says, we WILL find a cure in her lifetime.

Take a look at the website. It is pretty awesome.

I hope it is o.k. to post this information here. I couldn't think of a better place to reach a lot of women at once. It's time we find a cure...this type of study has never been done before!

Interesting! I'm looking at the site trying to figure out exactly what joining the "Army of Women" entails...?

MC

Watch the video for the launch of the Army for Women from the "Today Show".

Also, when your on the site click tab "Get Involved" and read the Frequently Asked Questions Section.

There are many different studies. Some may require you to fill out a questionnaire, some may need a sample of urine, blood, tissue, etc. YOU decide which study you may want to participate in.

Most research has been done on animals or on women who already have breast cancer. The Army of Women study will allow researchers to hopefully figure out what caused the cancer in the first place.

It's a different approach to hopefully find a cure.

My first thought when I saw the thread title was, "Are we finally going to storm and then take over the nation's Hooters restaurants?" :p

This looks great ~ thanks for posting!

:D

I once suggested we ladies start a chain of "Weiners," complete with a weiner dog mascot and half naked, "healthy" male waiters. Then we could crow about how great the "food" is.

How long would it take for men to be totally annoyed? :p

I once told my husband I think women should have an establishment like "Hooter's" to go "eat" and enjoy the "view" and call it Woody's. He immediately said, "it will never fly, men would never step foot in a place like that". I said, "who said you were invited"!

Seriously, though, I think it would go over. A girls night out could start there for drinks and a bite...hehehe
