Anybody out there a "Monk" fan?

We talk about so much stuff around here, that I thought I'd throw one out - anybody besides me watch "Monk" on the USA network? I just LOVE that show! The writing is just hysterical! There is a bunch of new ones airing now, and I'm getting ready to watch the one I taped from last night. For those of you who don't watch, they bring out about 7 new ones about twice a year. Please take the time to check it out if you haven't already.

I adore Monk! That is one of the few hour-long shows I'll actually sit down long enough to watch. If I sit down and Monk is on, I know I'll be there until it's over.

Yes, Honeybunch, I love Monk! I don't get much time to watch it, but always enjoy it when I do. (Shaloub is great. Remember him from Men In Black? He played the jewelry store owner whose head grew back.)

I love, love this show. I try not to miss it. Tony Shaloub is just plain nutty. I even stayed home on New Years Eve just so I did not have to miss it. (serious addict. I miss Bitty schram though. I liked her better than the new girl.

Tony Shaloub is fantastic in this. I love it!
I was worried when "Sharona" left, because the chemistry between the two characters was so good, but it's working out without her.
Last week, they had Monk's brother on. I love his quote when someone messed up: 'That's o.k., I made a mistake once myself"!

Remember the cross-promo ad they had for "Monk" and "the Dead Zone"? Hysterical. "Monk" comes up to "Johnny Smith" at a detectives convention and asks him if he really has to touch people to get a vision. Can't he just hover around? Or maybe poke a bit? What Shaloub did with that was so funny!

Monk's season is very bizarre. They started in August, I think, had only 5 or 6 shows, then came back again just in July.

10:00 PM Fridays on the USA network. I always marveled at the writing - they come up with the funniest ideas - then wondered where they came up with the plot lines. It dawned on me that the head writer may be an ex-detective! I've always said I never read fiction 'cause real-life is stranger then any fiction, so it stands to reason that the writers don't stay up at night dreaming this stuff up - they have their own "Monk" type staff writer.

I have finally come to accept Natalie - it took me awhile. I DO think Monk's father will finally appear, so they can milk that story line. Any guess as to whether he'll be like Monk and his brother, or whether he'll be "normal?" I thought Jerry Stiller would be a good Monk's father, but he's already played everyone else's father. Any thoughts on who could play Monk's father?
