Any of you suffer from the OPPOSSITE of anorexia?

That is... Believing you look absolutely slim when you are totally overweight? I have suffered from that symptom, though I wasn't very overweight. I would have progressively lowered my standards if it wasn't for my "reality check jeans".

I don't *think* I do but I am convinced that a huge part of our society does. I see far too many flabby hips and bellies hanging out of the low rise jeans of our youth. Reminds me...I need to go to the mall....

"Fat-arexia" I call it and I have it big time. Even tho' I'm in a size 12, I still THINK I'm in a 4 or 6. When I see photos, or catch a quick glance in the mirror, I'm thinking 'who's that lard ass w/ the 3 chins?"
Alas, it's me.

I think that might be called being happy with your body and having high self esteem.

I think it is very possible. Five years ago, I weighed 230 pounds and although I knew I had weight to lose, I did not think of myself as obese. Then low and behold my employer wants me to take a picture for advertising purposes for the local paper. I had photos taken and once they were developed was absolutely horrified at the end result. That lard a** could not possibly be me, lol!

Pictures bring the reality to light. They don't lie.

Boy! They sure do make me feel heavier.

Interesting . . . that would explain why fitting room mirrors and lighting are so humbling! x(
