Afterburn how often?

Is Afterburn considered cardio or strength or both? I'm wondering how often I can do it along with Butts & Guts. The other day I did B&G for the first time. The next day I was feeling fine so I did Afterburn, then my butt was sore for 4 days. I thought the soreness was from Afterburn but maybe it just reworked the muscles from B&G. I did B&G again 2 days ago and this time I was sore right away and still am. I love that I'm sore because it means I'm working those muscles but I do best when I have a workout to do everyday to stay consistent. Should I continue my schedule if I'm sore or take a break?
 
Afterburn gets my butt everytime. I workout everyday, but I usually do Afterburn before my rest day or I'll do it the day before an upper body workout or the day before another cardio workout because it leaves my glutes too sore to do it and a lower body workout on consecutive days. I use Afterburn as a cardio workout. On Cathe's site, it's listed under the Interval/HIIT category and is described as a low impact HIIT workout. I think the weights are just used to increase the cardio output and calorie burn, not for strength training.
 
I don't know the answer to your question, but I just wanted to say that Afterburn causes me to be incredibly sore for a couple days! Crazy sore like no other workout really. Sore like I am actually saying out loud to people "My a** is killing me!" which, if you know me, is completely out of character. But it just comes out. It's gotten that my husband knows when I have done Afterburn based on my grimaces throughout the day. Not sure what it is. Maybe that dixie cup thing.
 
I know technically its 'cardio' but as far as my butt is concerned, its a butt workout. So, I would (as Nikki suggested.) do either upper body or cardio the next day, not AB two days in a row.
 
B&G is a tough workout, at least for me. I have been doing it for years and still get DOMS for quite a few days after!
 
Thanks, I did Afterburn today (well what I can of it :) ) and feel ok now but we'll see tomorrow. Perhaps it was my combination with Butts & Guts. I'm going to alter my rotation and try to do them with a day in between.
 
Although I know that Afterburn and Cardio Supersets are considered cardio workouts, I think I'm gonna use them as cardio & total body strength workouts. Yesterday, I did Afterburn and as usual, I'm sore all over today. I can't imagine doing a weight workout (not even an upper body workout) today. The only thing I could do today is cardio, stretch, or just rest. I don't want to do upper body nor lower body weights the day before or after Afterburn.

I also use AfterBurn as a total body strength workout. And I also do it before a rest day. My entire body is tired after this one. I also add Core Max 1 after this workout. Well I add whatever I can get through :)
