Aerobic Shoes For Guys

For Cathe or anyone that can help

I have not had good luck finding a good shoe. I know all the ladies here love rykas. I usually try to get a cross training shoe, but find they wear out within a couple months. I do not have good luck with Reeboks especially. Nike's seem better, but even they wear out fast. The pair I have now are really killing my feet at the end of a workout.
For background, I do Cathe step 2-3 times a week, kickbox about 1-2 times a week, and circuits and weights 2 times/week. I have heard good things about Asics. Anyone try them? Also, would a running shoe be better for me? Thanks in advance.

Although I am switching to Rykas now, I have had good results with Asics Crosstrainers. When I was running high mileage, I always wore Asics. I hope this helps.

I currently am loving my Mizuno's, which I had to buy when my Ryka's started causing ankle problems after just 3 months. My Mizuno's (I call them my Halloween shoes because they are orange and black) are men's. They are extremely light and very supportive for lateral work like kickboxing and step. I also had a pair of Saucony's that I liked. There's a store near me called Trade Home (I don't know why a shoe store is called that!) and when I walk in I say, "I need someone who can fit me *well* for aerobic & cross-training activity." I think the key is finding a store that is interested in finding you a great shoe. Good luck!

Hi Brad,
This might seem strange but my SO swears by his kswiss. Strange I know but he would rather work out in them than any of the running or athletic shoes he has which he uses more for daily activities.
Supposely they are light enough and cushioned enough to really support his feet when I convince him to do step with me. Just something to look in too.
Good luck with the search....:)

I forgot to add that you can order Asics Crosstrainers from roadrunner sports. The site is www.roadrunnersports.com. I have found Asics Crosstrainers to be much superior to New Balance, and for studio work, you need a shoe that will help you with the turns and the lateral movement, so running shoes are not suitable for aerobics.

Thanks to all of you! I really know what to look for now. You've helped me soooo much. I love this forum!
