Active Recovery????

I'm just ending STS Meso1 and getting ready to take an active recovery week. I know how important the rest is, but the concept of resting for a week is very difficult for me. So I'd like to know what you guys do for active recovery. Any weights at all. (I'm a weight junkie!:p) Maybe yoga and a little cardio? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

When I took my first active recovery half way through Meso 1 in the 6 month STS rotation I did 6 days of cardio and abs/core. No weights.

I am coming up on active recovery soon before starting Meso 2 and plan to do 3 days of intense cardio (Insanity Month 1 work outs) and I will rest for 2 days. I end M1 on a Sunday and will begin M2 the following Saturday. It's a shorter recovery but I'll be resting on both Monday and Friday so I think it'll be okay.

I SHOULD throw some yoga in there some where but I'll be honest and say that I doubt that will happen!:p

First 2 rotations I took that "recovery" part WAY too literally :p and managed to ignore the "active" part, this time around I only took off 2 days, did Powerstrike a couple of times, a Turbo Fire and High reps, and forgetting the other. I started in to Meso 2 as strong as ever. I think the trick is to not do any real heavy weights and if you feel like you need an extra day or two off, take it, the one full body of lighter weight workout did not seem to do any damage. I'm just not a yoga person either, I have come to terms, that yoga isn't in the cards for me.

IMO, active-recovery week is a great time to do core-focused workouts and/or functional-fitness workouts that work the smaller supporting muscles, balance and core all at once.

I'd also include some moderate cardio, like walks or hikes, and flexibility work (and/or any rehab-prehab type work that would address 'problem areas' you may have had in the past).
