Absorbent bath towel recommendation

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good bath towel that actual absorbs water. I am tired of these plush bath towels that actually seem water repellent when new and only push water around on your body and that you need to break in by multiple washings.

I have Seduction towels and they are the best! They are very thick, plush, and soft but actually absorb water. Whenever we have house guests they want to know where we got them so they can go out and buy them. BTW, we got them at Linen's 'n Things.

One way to keep towels ability to absorb water is NOT to use a fabric sheet in the dryer.
I have some towels from Tommy Hilfiger that seem to absorb water well.

You should never use fabric softener with towels. It impedes their absorbency.

I read once that if you have a dry skin problem you should use fabric softener on your towels then apply moisturizing lotion to damp skin. Has anyone else heard this?
