Ab workouts

I have a question. I am new to this website, but not that new to Cathe workouts. I was wondering when you do Cardio Kicks do you normally do ab work also. How many days a week do you do ab work? I mean actually lying on the floor and doing crunches or whatever.

I usually don't work my abs after any kickboxing workouts(which I only do once a week). I feel that my core gets worked enough:) . I usually work my abs 4-5 days a week switching between pilates type ab work and traditional & weighted ab work. This method really works for me.

I do abs twice a week, usually I squeeze sets in between sets of other body parts. Two exercises, 4 sets 15 each, always with weights.

Sometimes I add the ab workout from CTX kickbox to Cardio Kicks --- if I have the energy! I do ab workouts about 5x a week.
 
I usually do them 3 times a week but not on days I do KPC, Kickbox or Cardio Kicks. I feel they get worked good in those workouts and I try to do Kickboxing at least once if not twice a week. So I do abs on weight days or when I do step.

I have done abwork after kickboxing, it just depends on my time. I really like KPC abs though. As a general rule I work my abs about 4-5 times a week. 10-20 minutes a session. I like to do P90X AbRipper once a week as that gave me great results during my P90X rotation. The other days I do Cathe's ab's and her ab marathon when I have time....:)...Carole
 
I only do abs 3 times a week. I don't do them if I've done Cario Kicks. With the workouts that are included in the newer Cathe workouts (i.e. anything with planks or stability ball), I get an excellent workokut for just the 3 days and don't feel that more than that is necessary.

Welcome to Cathe's Forum! We're glad you've joined us.

I never do ab work on kickboxing days, but I suppose you could if you wanted to really up the intensity to that area.

I do abs/back usually 3 times a week, maybe 4. (Now that I have the Ab Hits DVD, I've started working them longer...makes it fun to mix & match.)

I have been doing abs everyday because I am trying to lose that lower belly pudge! I am not sure if that is too much; I keep reading different things. For now, that seems to be working for me.
 
Melissa, I say do what works for you when it comes to AB work..... most of the time, I do mine everyday and some days twice a day, depending on the mood I am in.... Rhonda:7
