6 Monthers STS Alumni, Week of Dec. 6

Kim, WOW! You guys had a jam packed vacation! Sounds like tons of fun! Yes, big shock to your system with the temperature change huh? Scheesch! So are you ready to get back to working out or do you need a rest from your vacation?!? LOL! :p

Yes the HRT kicked in over the last few days and I've only been having a couple a day! It is SO NICE! It's such a relief! Hopefully this dosage will do it for me (especially since it's a nice low dose!)...I'm just finishing week 4 now and feeling great, wearing turtlenecks in this cold weather, and overall happy! Though I didn't think I had mood problems, DH remarked I'm now not as "edgy" but I was probably edgy because of all the hot flashes! LOL!

Cendrine, I'm so SORRY you can't workout! But take it easy, take your time and heal! You'll be glad you did (I know you will!) otherwise you'll just keep having problems. I had a back injury from a skiing accident years ago and it took a long time to heal...but I was very careful and it completely healed. And, of course I'm always careful now, but also make sure to keep my core and back as strong as I can. Anyway, I know this will frustrate you but you'll be back working out sooner than you think! Also...the flannels love you so enjoy that extra time with them! :D:cool:

Rachel, it's Low Impact Step for us tomorrow! I don't even remember the last time I did that workout. It should be a nice relaxing change of pace after the last few days of high intensity/hi impact! Hope you're not working too hard this week! 3 AM - is that AM???? Holy Moly! What time are you going to bed?

Okay, off to read! Kim, we really missed you and so glad you're all back safe and sound!

Oh and did you see Antoine propose? It was truly a great finale!

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Day!

I did Low Impact Step today. It was just right! You know that is such a great workout for people new to Cathe to do as it contains many steps she uses in a lot of her step routines (like pendulums and drop squat pendulums). It was amazing though, as it's a more intermediate workout, but I still felt I had a good workout and, it clocks in around 40 minutes.

Not much else to report. Tomorrow is SJP, it is still very cold and sunny here (but I didn't need my fur lined boots today!) I went out at lunch and it is about 30; much better than the 11 when I came to work this morning!

Okay, back to work, just wanted to say Hi!

Did we get another coupon for buying the calendar? I can't find my email and wanted to buy a couple of the new items but wanted to use the coupon (am I imagining we got another coupon?). If we did, can you tell me what it was?

Oh, and Kim, no, no calendar yet!

It's CAL2010, at least that is what worked for me on my last order. I'm thinking of using it to buy some more stuff too, since I don't know how soon we'll get another coupon...LOL And I can't even work out right now! LOL! When do you decide you have enough Workouts anyway?

I do not think you can ever have enough workouts!
Well this morning I realized I had let a friend borrow my 4DS and so I did the step part of the low impact circuit. It had been a long time since I had done that one too but it was the first set that I got of Cathe...DM, BM2, B&G, and then low impact circuit so I did it a lot back then and I loved it and still love it!
I love having a lot to choose from because it feels like I get renewed energy when I get to do one I have not done in a while!

I have to rearrange my workout and do a core work out tomorrow and the SJ&P on Saturday because I am going to have to leave the house very early tomorrow and would have to get up at 2am just to fit that one in and that is not happening so I figure I will have all kinds of time on Saturday so it will be good to have a long work out!

Jo-What are you going to do next? I have not decided but I did take a brief look at the December rotation and thought about it but maybe changing it up a little. I have been enjoying the challenge of the long cardio workouts and I noticed today that I feel like my endurance has really built up because I felt like after the 48 min was up I could have gone longer!

Cendrine-Well I am glad you got some good news even though you have to lay low for a while. Maybe when this month is up you will be better. I knew you would like the gym style work outs. We seem similar in our likes of the weight work outs!

Kim-It is great that your travel time was super short. I hate long waits in airports or layovers! I can not believe that it only took 4 hrs though. I do not know why I thought it would take longer than that.
I am the same way with food on vacation, esp if we are are some place pretty foreign. I want to try things that I feel I might not have the opportunity to ever eat again! When we went to Croatia I ate the ice cream every day! It was the best and every where you went there was a stand or a shop that had it. But we walked every where we went so it was ok.

OK I have a tough day at work tomorrow so I am going to go relax a while!

Have a great night...Jo tell me how SJP was so I can look forward to it Sat

Rachel

Oh Rachel, you think we were supposed to do Low Impact Step off of 4DS? I did the Low Impact Step off of Cathe intermediate Low Impact Step DVD! Oh no matter...they are both shorter. :p

I don't know what I'm going to do next. I need to look at the calendar. We're going to go to my mom's for Xmas and then from there to MT for New Years so I'll be gone about 10 days. And during that time, I'll probably only be walking etc. BUT, if we get the new DVD's, I might get to take the new travel workout! So in answer to your question, I don't know what I'm going to do. I might just do another week and a half like this week. I really enjoyed the workouts this week. Actually I really enjoyed this entire November rotation! But I might entertain doing what I can of the December rotation until we leave. Think how fresh I'll be when we come back after New Years!!!

Cendrine, thanks for the coupon. I'm going to go give it a try! Hope you're feeling good today!

Hello Kim! Are you readjusted to the cold? Are you working out?

We're getting our new garage doors tomorrow. Did I tell you guys about that? I'll save it for tomorrow if I didn't.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

PS Rachel, have you not done SJP? If not, you're going to LOVE IT - I PROMISE!

Good Morning to yall! Yea it is Friday but I am going to have a long one but when it is over we will be happy!
I was sleeping so good this morning and then I got a rude awakening by the cat. She has this new thing when I sleep past my normal time where she claws at the curtains. (she doesn't tear them up) She used to open and shut the closet door. She wants me to get up and feed her and normally it is at about 4:30 when she thinks it is past time for me to get up but I guess her stomach was growling early this morning because it was 3! Now all the other mornings that I have woke up that early this week, I did it without any help and then this morning I was sleeping really good. So I probably had time to do SJP but I did not want to feel rushed so I am still going to leave it on tomorrow. I like a long one on Saturday anyway so I probably would have ended up doing something in addition to core work anyway.

Jo-I have done parts of SJP but I don't think I have done the whole work out all the way through so I am looking forward to it! I like that there is so much variety in one work out!

OK I am off to try and catch up on the shock cardio stuff before I have to get ready to go to work!

Have a great day!

Rachel

OH yea, Cendrine, did you get you shopping and wrapping done?

Okay, I have to confess that I haven't worked out since I got home! Usually I get back from our trips, all excited about getting back into an exercise routine but not this time! The idea of doing the last 3 weeks of Insanity is pure dread! This trip really seem to tire me out. Walking around theme parks for 12 hours and then swimming, is a workout in itself! Then yesterday after work, I did a 3 hour round trip drive to pick ds up from band camp to bring him back to the city for his hockey game. The school band was staying overnight and returning by bus today but ds didn't want to miss another hockey game. He was so tired that he feel asleep in the car. We all need a nice quiet weekend to catch up.

I'm seriously thinking of doing Cathe's December rotation starting today or tomorrow. It looks good with lots of variety and shorter workouts. (sounds like Jo and Rachael are considering doing some of it as well) Looking at the calendar for the next 3 weeks is also stressing me out, so much stuff to do baking, recitals, work parties, family get togethers, christmas cards. Anyone else getting stressed with Christmas stuff!

Jo I did see Antonio propose! So sweet! That's the code I used CAL2010. I just received my bands, and one dvd I ordered (to replace a VHS) but no calendar. I emailed SNM and they said the calendars will be shipped mid-December, I was surprised it didn't come all together.

Cendrien My thoughts are that you need all the Cathe's workouts because then you can do the rotations :D How are you feeling? Did you get the Christmas shopping done?

Rachael Hope your long work day flies by! Will you get some time to relax over the weekend? I love SJP! The music is so fun in that one!

Hi All! Well, I did 3/4 of SJP. Besides the new garage doors being installed, I had to have my dryer worked on and the dryer man showed up during my workout (they never come early!). So I made it through the 3rd hi/lo...I guess actually I was a little more than 3/4. Anyway, I got enough done! What I did do felt great! But, like last week, I'm tired. I guess this combo of workouts was more taxing...or maybe it is the cold weather and flannel sheets making me tired! LOL! I'm not as wiped out as I was last week, but I'm feeling it and looking forward to a rest day! I can't remember what tomorrow is but I know it's less intense.

Kim, sorry you're dreading Insanity! Well, I'm not stressing about Xmas, but I'm definitely not ready! (Maybe a little stressed!) That's probably partly why I'm tired just thinking about all I have to do that I should have already done! It sounds like you need a vacation from your vacation! LOL! :p

Rachel, maybe your cat has been secretly waking you up! :D I can't wait to hear how you like doing all of SJP! It is such a fun workout! Glad your week is winding down!

Hello Cendrine! Hope you're continuing to improve!

We're supposed to get snow tonight. I'm tired of this cold snap! I'll check back with you all later!

Hi Everybody,

it is cold and rainy again here, so we are staying inside and keeping warm. If there was ever a time not to be able to work out, this would be it...LOL!

I got some more therapy today at the chiro, but not before slipping on the stairs and falling with a green smoothie in my hand!
The kids were super sweet. Ds ran into the garage to get rags for the green smoothie mess, then ran into the kitchen to make me a chamomille tea (which he knows is a good one for calming down LOL) and dd went to get baby wipes to wipe up what the rags didn't take then came and stood next to me saying how sorry she was that I fell. It was enough to make me want to spoil them for the rest of the day!
I was really afraid I had done more damage to my back, but it seemed it wasn't to bad, according to the chiro. Therapy today felt really good, I'm hoping to get more next week.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to start workouts again but was thinking of doing walks and maybe some ligth weights for the first week or so to get back into things, I know my muscles must be loosing strenght right now, so I would be too sore to pick up where I left off. So I don't think I'm going to look at any more rotations until STS.

Rachel, I know all about the joys of having cats remind you that they have a mind of their own! Mine always parks herself on my clothes in the closet, especially the ones I have just dehaired and washed! I tried to keep the closed door closed so she would have to find other comfy places, but she figured out how to open the door.

Jo, we will be coming to Seattle on the 25th for about 5 days. It sounds like you are going to be gone? I'm not too stressed out about Christmas either, but at the same time I am less prepared this year than last... I did get all the shopping done but nothing is wrapped and all the stuff that needs to go in the mail is also not ready... So I better get on it too! Oh,, and do tell about the garage doors!

Kim, I think I can imagine where you are at with Insanity, I probably said this before, but I think I am too scared to try Insanity... I would dread each workout because it is asking everything of me and then some. It sounds like the Christmas rotation might be just right for you.

Well yall...I just got home and it is 9 pm but we got all that we needed to do done and we are off to another job on Monday! I think this is the busiest we have ever been in the winter! I am not complaining but I am a little tired:D:p
So it was no workout for me this morning but I am planning to make up for it tomorrow with SJP. I am going to try to sleep in if the cat will let me ;) and then have a good breakfast and then hit it hard. You wouldn't believe it but even right now I am looking for ward to it...

As far as Christmas goes, I am not stressing too much but I am trying to figure out when I am going to finish my shopping and when I am going to do the baking that I do annually for the people in the office that we work out of. They might just have to settle for one big thing to split instead of the individual cookie boxes I normally do...They would be so disappointed:rolleyes:

Jo-I hate it that you are already tired of the cold and it is not even winter yet...I hate to tell you this but today the high was 40 I think and then on Sunday it is going to be 70...They say in East Texas if you do not like the weather...wait a minute! So I will concentrate on enjoying it for you! But I do think it is going to be rainy so we will just have to wait and see what we get.

Cendrine-I hate it that you fell! I always tell my dh that stairs will be the death of me but so far I have managed to just almost fall...I hope you do not have any "whiplash"! Your kids sound so thoughtful and caring.
Our cat is a wierdo:p she used to open and shut the closet door to get us to get up because it made a squeaking noise so dh oiled it and now she knows that does not do it anymore so now I am going to wrap the curtains over the curtain rod tonight and see what she does!

Kim-It sounds like you are worn out from your "vacation":DI get that way too. I like to have an extra few days off when we get back so I can really relax and do nothing! I think if Insanity has really got you that bummed you shouldn't do it. I know I would just not work out if I was dreading it.
I have to look at the rotation a little closer sometime this weekend but I am thinking about doing my own version of it so that I can make the workouts a little longer. Maybe have a few long ones in and add them to some short ones too.

OK I am off to bed Have a great night!

Rachel

Would you believe that the forecast for tonioght is MINUS 35 and with the windchill MINUS 48!!! That is crazy cold! All kinds of warnings on the news here. I have the furnace blasting, sweatshirts on, blankets around the doors and still don't feel warm. Had to go out a few times today to ds's hockey game, dd's piano lessons but tomorrow there is nothing on the agenda and we are staying home all day!

I got the Christmas cards done today and made a menu for the Christmas meals so feeling a little more on top of things.

Haven't worked out yet but plugged the Dec rotation into my workout manager so that means there is no turning back because I don't know how to erase it:eek::eek:

Cendrine Goodness gracious on the fall! How does you back feel today?? The kids sound like they were such sweethearts!

Rachael Glad you got your long day finished yesterday, is the job next week a big one? Did you do SJP this morning?

Jo So did the garage doors get installed??

Kim

Brrrrrrrr! Kim! I can't imagine those temperatures! How do you manage? And you're not even used to it because you were in Florida! What a shock! My goodness, I don't know if I would even take my kids to their classes in that cold! Don't your eyes freeze over before you get to where you are supposed to go? The temperatures here have been the same for the last few days, so I think my body is finally getting used to cooler weather. I walked around just with a scarf around my neck all day and felt fine, no jackets, just long sleeve stuff and the scarf. That was kind of nice, feel less bulky that way...! LOL!

My back is taking its sweet old time getting better, but I am just going to take one day at a time and be ok with that, even if I get somewhat out of shape in the meantime. I am doing well compensating the lack of energy expended through workouts by eating less than I am used to without too much trouble, so that is something I'm grateful for.

Rachel, did the cat let you sleep in today? How's the shopping going? I still have to get the christmas cards out and send what needs to be sent gift wise and then wrap up what is left. Things are happening fast this year.

The kids saw a pretzel snowman in the Family Fun magazine and wanted to make it, so I decided instead of being stuck with all the junk I would make extra and take it to ds' Tiger Cub Christmas party and leave it all there, that way the kids have the fun of making them and can have a couple and we are not left with a big batch of leftover ones. They turned out pretty cute and the kids enjoyed eating the fruitleather leftovers (we used fruitleather to make the scarves for the snowmen)

How are things with you, Jo? I would hate being interrupted in my workout by service guys... I always tell them not to come before I know I can have my shower and be sweat free...LOL! I hope everything went ok with the doors!

Hi Guys! Busy busy day today! I've been cleaning, Xmas shopping, on the phone talking to people (catching up stuff) and where did the day go!!!

Garage doors got in yesterday. I guess that's our present to each other :p one for me, one for DH! Did I tell you I ordered a new laptop? That's my true Xmas present. That's also why I still haven't posted any house pictures for you guys...my old laptop died and that's the one with all the pictures on it!

Rachel, regarding the cold. I just want it to get above freezing!!! Also, DH found a mouse today in one of the garage traps...made me think of you! :p So, how did you do with SJP?

Kim, I'm freezing here so I can only imagine how cold it is where you are! We're still supposed to get snow tonight but it hasn't started yet. Good for you on the cards. I realized after you asked the question about being stressed that the Xmas cards actually are what stress me out! Once they're done, it's all down hill for me!

Cendrine, oh you puhleeze be careful! I hurt reading about your fall! Yes, one day at a time is the right attitude! Don't push yourself and ease back into things as you can. I'm sorry this happened to you! I know how frustrating it is!

Tomorrow I'll take a rest day and hopefully finish shopping. I need to get Xmas cards done tomorrow also...that's the other thing I was working on today...our Xmas letter!

Okay, I'll chat more tomorrow. Hope you all had a great day!

Oh Cendrine, I forgot to mention! I talked to DH and if you want to try and plan to get together on Monday, the 28th, I can make that work. We were going to drive from my mom's to MT, but we'll just drive home Sunday night, be home a day, and then leave on Tuesday. That way I can see you! (Assuming you don't have plans on Monday!) Let me know if that's a possibility for you!
