****<<<-----6 Monther Alumni---->>>>**** week of Feburary 20, 2011

Can it get any better than this? I just completed Step Moves, did all PT exercises for my shoulder, then did Abs and stretch from Butts and Guts! Ahhhhhhhhhhh....:D I'm a happy girl! But now I'm starving!

I forgot to tell you that DH has been exposing me to his bad habits! LOL! Last night I had 2 pieces of pepperoni sausage pizza from Costco and a Hershey's chocolate bar! I know you're as shocked as I AM! He wanted me to try the pizza since I couldn't eat anything like that pre-gall bladder removal. Guess what? NO ISSUES! LOL! But I was horrified I ate all that and YES, a whole candy bar but my goodness it tasted good! But this morning when I woke up my eyes were all puffy. So no more of that! HA! I'm going to go fix a salad with some cod. :)

Now it's almost 1:00 and need to get back to getting some work done. It's just above freezing so the snow is melting a little but it's supposed to snow again this afternoon. We'll see. I really wanted to go to lululemon!

It's been a non stop day here! I did a tm walk and stab ball abs and then I've just been goin, going...

Jo, what a nice workout time you had! LOL on the pizza and candy bar! Considering some of the crazy healthy things I will eat, people are sometimes surprised too, to see me eat fish and chips or some other sacreligeous thing... so glad you enjojed it though, and your tummy wasn't upset either, yay!

Kim, my asthma always acts up in cold weather and when I have a cold, I hope ds will do fine!

Rachel, what was your workout today? Were you working today? Did you guys get the new CE mag? I find that a lot of their recipes take too long, so I was happy to see the 15 min options! I haven't decided yet what to try...

I am back!
Sorry no post yesterday but we had not only a physically challenging day, it was mentally draining too. Lots of things to have to figure out and lots to worry about since our vinyl cuts were so big and had to wrap around pipes and columns. It all worked out but when I got home last night, I was just wiped out. But we are pretty much done now. We are just waiting on the welding rod to finish up the seams and then we will be out of there. Another one bites the dust!
Today we had some bad weather. It looked like it was going to storm all day and then when it finally got started it looked like a white out outside it was raining so hard. Thank goodness rain like that doesn't last that long around here. Now it is pretty much cleared out.

This week has been a challenging leg week. Mon was BM2, Tues was Intensity with the BBW, Wed was 4DS kickbox and the legs part...I didn't get the second workout in last night which was supposed to be LBB, then for today it was supposed to be 40 minutes of interval running so I did 40 min of DM and then 400 lunges and the BBW!!! Then tomorrow is plyo legs!!! Talk about a workout week! She is shredding the legs on this week!
I am not getting DOMS really but I think that is because there is just so much leg work...Don't yall?

Jo-Oh I hope everything is going to go well with your test. I would have probably totally panicked and not even got back to the essays in time! It is a good thing you were quick thinking! Uhhhh Technology sometimes get the best of us. But hopefully your other answers went through by some grace!
I think you are going to be OK on the pizza...that happens to me too. DH will get one of those bring home and bake ones and they are just so good but I do control myself on the portions too like it sounds like you did.;)

Cendrine-Hang in there. I know how discouraging it seems but hopefully it is just some kinks that will work out. I think you are doing the right things by keeping the weight lighter.I know it is frustrating but just try to keep your chin up!

Kim-I hope Ds is feeling better. I had a feeling you were going to enjoy this down time. I am glad you decided to take it after all.
I think after the Feb rotation I will just move on to the March rotation...Most likely with a rest week for sure though...LOL I am going to need after this one.
I think I am getting some good leg endurance out of this rotation which is what I am always lacking.

OK off to eat and relax with my extra time tonight.
Have a great Friday!

Cendrine you busy busy girl! Good you got your workout in! So were the kids off this week? It is winter break up here for the kids. Are you going to be able to get up here to visit your inlaws? I'm still waiting for you!

Rachel, you guys just set them up and knock them down! You are another busy busy girl! You are really going at those workouts and I salute you! Reading about putting down the vinyl and your other jobs always reminds me growing up when my dad had his floor covering business. See Rachel, you remind me of home!!! LOL! :D My oldest brother still does floor and counter tops. My one nephew has a floor covering business in TN and another nephew has a paint company in AZ. Floors are in our blood! LOL!

I guess we're all busy busy girls! LOL!

Well, my abs are feeling it tonight. You know today was the first time I did a full hardcore ab workout since my surgery - I've done a little ab work but not a full Cathe workout! IT FELT SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!

Happy abs are here again
The skies above are clear again
So let's sing a song of cheer again
Happy abs are here again

My butt is happy about stepping too!

I am hoping to be able to get back into a routine of workouts this session. DH mentioned to me if I would get up I could do them before work like I used to :p (isn't he wise?) He also suggested I do shorter workouts. (He knows how much not getting my workouts in has been bothering me. ) I told him if I don't have to stay up until 1:00 every night doing homework that's EXACTLY what I want to do! LOL! :D

Alright, I'm going to go look at some fitness magazines. Oh and my CE magazine came today so will take a peak at that too! I'm with you Cendrine, I want recipes that don't take very long!

Kim, hope you had another great holiday day!

TTY tomorrow!

For some reason I volunteered to be a parent helper for my dd's field trip today. They are going to the Festival du Voyageur, it's an outdoor winter festival celebrating the French heritage of the city. And it's -40 out with the windchill:(:( and ds took my ski pants on his ski trip. I just want to stay in my nice cozy new house and do some more sewing and reading not go outside in -40 with a school bus of kids. I need to change my attitude, it will be fun, right! Good chance to meet some of the kids, other parents at the new school.

DS has his cellphone turned off and he never called me last night! He knows he was supposed to phone home:mad: They get home late tonight. I'm sure he will be exhausted. They left yesterday at 6am, 4 hour drive to the ski hill, skiied till supper, then pool/waterslides at the hotel. Then I'm sure lots of sleep with 6 kids/room (13 and 14 yr olds). :rolleyes:This morning, they were to get up at 7:30 to be at the ski hill by 9 am, ski till 3:30 and to be back at the school at 8 tonight. I don't know how to downhill ski so I'm glad he is learning. He went with his old school last year and had so much fun but was exhausted when he got home.

Jo, you sound positively giddy! The stress of being done this session is obviously a weight off your shoulders! Hopefully the next session will be easier if it's stuff that you do at work on a regular basis. CTX is a fun little series that you don't hear much about (except for Leaner Legs) Is the snow gone, are you able to get out of the house.

Rachael What interesting weather you have had this winter! Glad you finish up another job. Do you jobs planned for next week?

Cendrine Is it another busy day for you? Will you get some down time over the weekend?

Jo, how fun to have you working out again! Some things sure are done best first thing in the morning... it is so the case for me! My kids and public school all were not off this week, they just had monday off. I looked through my lesson book and noticed we only have ten more weeks of schoo left! It's cracy how fast time flies!

Kim, I hope the fieldtrip is fun! I hope there is time planned in to defrost somewhere with a hot chocolate!

I did the last disk of meso 1 today. Just cardio and abs tomorrow and I'll be done!

Oh, I splurged and got a bistro set for the front porch, it got here yesterday and we set it up. Really dresses up the place.:)

What a glorious day! It was full sun but solid ice. It warmed up to 29 and so I was able to get off my hill around noon. My goodness my abs are sore and my legs feel great from stepping. It's always amazing how differently you use your legs for various activites. One thing I like about spinning is you hit every part of your leg so after stepping I can feel the different emphasis in my quads and butt (soooo goood! :D)

Tomorrow is HOUSE CLEANING yippee!! I've got the boys lined up and we are hitting it right after I get done working out! I think I'll do High Reps tomorrow! I'll feel so much better to get the house back the way I like it before I start these new classes. Also, though DH and I never do this...we're setting up a gal that works for me up with a guy that DH does business with and they are coming to my house on Sunday. Ahemmm...we are NOT match makers but I think these two may hit it off! The last time DH and I were even remotely involved in helping two people meet each other was 20 years ago and it turned out poorly. So we stay away from that sort of thing normally. So it's just a come over and meet each other little thing.

Kim, I love your "for some reason I volunteered..." - that gave me a good laugh! I hope it turned out fun and you didn't freeze! LOL! How was ds trip? Hope he got home without incident. I am giddy and you're right, I do feel like I have a weight off my shoulders! I'll know my results on Wednesday...I hate having to wait.

Cendrine, congrats on wrapping up meso 1! Boy I'll bet that feels good! Are you taking a rest week now or are you continuing on to meso 2? I still think of the 3 meso 2 is my favorite though there were things I liked about all of them. Take a picture of your bistro set! That sounds like a great accessory for the porch! I love outdoor furniture.

Rachel, hope you got things wrapped up today! What's on your workout schedule tomorrow? You've been knocking through those rotations!

When I got home tonight I took Ibo out and threw the ball with him for a while. He loves the snow and loves playing catch and fetching! He loves to jump and catch. We're going to get a frisbe as he's definitely a frisbe dog! Anyway I wish I had the camera out there as he was a hoot!

Back to the movie...DH has the Green Mile on. TTYL!

Ohhhh geeee...I forgot to mention. Remember DH asked if something from lululemon would make me feel better? Well I just got done ordering me a couple little things! I ordered a jacket, pants and a tank! Bad girl I know! But hey...it makes me forget all about the test!!! LOL! :D

Oh, and I immediately got back on the good eating train and DH has been trying to get me to eat a candy bar again! Bad DH! LOL! I'm not kidding and I know you guys know this to...how I feel after a fabulous salad with tons of greens versus a piece of pizza...words can't describe it!

Last thing last thing. I had someone contact me...a friend of a friend to see if I could help them with losing 100 lbs. So I'm going to meet with her next week. My gal I was working with has plateaued at 100 lost - she wants to lose another 17. But, she has now run several marathons and is logging about 60 miles a week in addition to spinning. I'm trying to get her to get on the weights as I think that will get her off the plateau. But she feels so good about herself that she's not concerned about those last 17 pounds anymore. Anyway, she is running races every other weekend which include 5k's, 10k's and half marathons. I think she's run 6 half marathons and 3 marathons now. Great success story huh? We're going to write a blip up on her and submit it to a couple magazines.

I know I know....I'm just a posting fool tonight! :);):D But I've missed you guys! LOL! So I just wanted to say while sitting here watching this movie I became overwhelmed with the desire to do Step Jump and Pump tomorrow. I love the music in the high/low section. Oooohhh or maybe I'll do the long premix with with SB/SJP cardio. Oh yeah...that sounds good doesn't it?

Well stay tuned and we'll see what I really do ending up doing!

Cendrine, didn't you get the firewalker bands when you got your vest? If so, have you got to use them? I've been using those for some of my shoulder exercises. I love those.

I added a new picture of Ibo - just one. It was when DH took him fishing and clamming on the coast in January. I think it's my favorite picture of him. DH said he had such a good time; got to run crazy on the beach (Ibo that is - not DH! :p)

I am here! haha

OK yesterday work kind of got canceled since the welding rod didn't make it so we had some errands to run in town and then when we cam home we both fell asleep on the couch!:eek: That never happens ...the phone rang at around 2 and scared the crud out of us and then we got up and went to bed and slept till 5 o clock! I hate to admit how much I really enjoyed that nap and I am not a nap kind of person! So I guess we both needed it. DH it kind of a night owl so always when we start back to work it is a transition for him. We were both in bed early last night too so you can see why I didn't get on yesterday!

So plyo legs was yesterdays workout and this morning was HSTA and this afternoon it is B&G...I am siking again on that one!:eek:

Jo-I love the pic of Ibo too...He looks like such a happy dog! So was it SJP this morning?
I am cleaning too today. The house has kind of fell to the wayside the last week or so.

Kim-I hope you got to come home and warm up! I can't imagine temps like that and getting out in them...you know how it is around here:rolleyes: So is Ds in trouble for not calling? ;)

Cendrine-You sound like you might feel a little better. I hope your back is feeling better.
Now your front porch and back porch should be looking ship shape ! LOL

OK I will be back later for more but got to get to the oatmeal!!!
Have a great day!

Quick note as everyone is ready to clean! Rachel, you and DH were obviously needing the sleep!!!

I did SJP cardio only and was nearly wiped out! You really need those breaks between the sections! LOL!

Be back later - gotta get my gloves on!

Great picture of Ibo, Jo! He must be so much fun! I forgot to tell you, we still haven't got anything on the calendar for Seattle... dh clearly does not feel up for the break from work... I was talking to him yesterday though. The kids really want to go camping and he is not making any campground reservations even though I keep reminding him to. So I asked him yesterday if I had his permission to plan a camping trip, green and all that I am without him then fixing it all when I've invested the time... he has a tendency to do that with things that he thinks he knows more about but only after I have done my time on it.... LOL So I wanted to make sure... He seemed open to it and I suggested a drive up the coast or some of the nice valleys all the way to seattle to stop there for a visit with his folks and then take a week or so to drive back down with camping stops inbetween. I hope he will just take the time off, like he did for our Switzerland trip, because it sure would be fun! All that said, I think for us not to be too miserable, it's going to have to be in July.... So that's when you and I can go work out together and enjoy a green juice when we make it there! LOL

I did order the firewalkers with the vest, but they never came, said it was out of stock, but I still haven't seen any of it... I should probably check...

We went to San Diego Zoo yesterday even though it said it was going to rain, because we had already had to postpone it once... So we decided to gamble and the rain hit on the way home! We were so lucky! It was a great day, not too busy, not hot, not freezing. The kids had a blast. We promised them they could pick a toy or something at the Zoo store on the way out. I was sure they were going to go for one of those cheap toys that look appealing and then just sit around. But ds went for a stuffed wolf and dd picked some dr seuss animal books and would not be tempted by any of the girly purses with pets in them or any of it. I love that she picked books! I couldn't resist using the droid to check on the prices of the books and I could get one of them cheaper online, so we just got the ones that were the same price online... LOL! I got a cute little ceramic handpainted hanging pottery filled with cati for the porch... And of course now i have to go find a hook to hang it off of...;)

Rachel, I'm so glad you got to rest and enjoy it! We slept in this morning, we were rather wiped from the day of walking. I then did my abs and stretches and all and hit the grocery store while dh took himself and the kids to the gym. They are still there now, so I get to catch up with you all!

Kim, did ds get home all right? I hope his cold isn't worse! Anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?

I Did It !!! One more double dip Saturday left and this rotation will be done! We had to go to town again today and I felt so groggy...I think it was the weather. It is overcast and muggy , so I thought my workout was going to stink and it was just the opposite! It was a great one!!!:D:D:D:cool:
I am glad its behind me and I am looking forward to my rest day tomorrow. I see some lazing about in my future. LOL

I was going to mention this earlier but ran out of time before breakfast. I think this might be something you would like, Jo. I heard about this thing called birchbox.com on a radio program I listen to in the morning. It is a box that is sent to you every month with high end make up samples or skin care too I think. I think you are able to pick if you would prefer skin care or hair care. It is 10- a month and I think the value is supposed to be around 60- or something like that. I went to try and sign up and they are temporarily out of "boxes". I am sure that is because it was on the radio show but I signed up and they are supposed to notify me by email. Anyhow I thought it sounded kind of neat to get to try all those really expensive products that I probably wouldn't buy. LOL

Oh and on the CE mag. I didn't renew my subscription. I have had it for I don't know how many yrs and although I love all the recipes they give I realized that I rarely made anything out of it because for one the time it took and two I had a hard time finding some of the ingredients in my area. Then if I did get a specific ing. I would not use it up in anything else and it seemed like such a waste and I hate that. Most of my cooking the last yr or so has been pretty straight forward. But I did subscribe to the nutrition action mag, Cendrine.;)

Gotta go we have unexpected company. TTYL

I HAVE A CLEAN HOUSE!!! We worked at it all day! You know how that is...when you're in the mood you got to go for it! :p:eek::D;) I mean I took the shower doors off, we cleaned baseboards, crevices, every niche and cranny. Then DH went out and did the garage! So no kidding we cleaned a full 8 hours and though that wasn't necessarily how I wanted to spend my Saturday, I feel good good good! Now, I can get started with school tomorrow feeling accomplished! It also helped that it started snowing again, so what better to do! LOL! Oh, the only thing I have left to do is go through my magazine pile which I think I will do in the morning. So essentially we did spring cleaning today! :D

Rachel, you rock girl! You are kicking butt on those workouts! Also you sound so energized! It's working for you! I'm going to go check out birchbox. You're right, that's probably something I would like! A girl can't have too many makeup samples! LOL! Isn't it amazing how the weather can affect you physically?

Cendrine, whenever you can get to Seattle I would love to see you and take you to my gym! I think traveling up the coast would be so fun for the kids. There are so many great places to see and it's a beautiful trip. I think doing the trip up I5 from my house to the Jamboree exit on the 405 in Tustin is 1500 miles. (Just in case you're interested. ;)) It's longer on the coast, but so worth it if you take the time. Glad you guys has a good time at the zoo! That's wonderful dd wanted books! Gotta love that!

Hi Kim, hope you're having a great weekend!

Alright, I need to go get something to eat!
