Good Morning all:

It sounds like we had a good weekend ( maybe Linny had a little stress! LOL)..that apple picking can get you every time!

Today was P90X Shoulders & Arms. ( 238 Calories) I am doing 3 weight days in a row, since I will be away for the rest of the week, and most likely the only worthwhile thing in the hotel workout room is a treadmill. So I will do 3 cardio days there. I have one day back and then I am headed for DC on Saturday for 5 days. I hope the weather in Tunica is not too humidx( . I know DC will be pretty good, as we go there this same time every year.

Todays Menu:

Thanks for the info on Absolute Kickboxing. I may get this after the new Cathe's come in. I need to mix up the cardio. Do you use a weighted bar? if so, how heavy? How about this for recipes with squash? http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?q=butternut+squash..
If I was closer I would take some off your hands!

Linny:
Go get the pedicure! You don;t need to be embarrassed, they see all kinds of foot problems. I have a nasty callous that never goes away and the skin on my heels is awfulx( .. this is what pedicures are for! They are also so relaxing and when done you feel so good! The fair food can be your "cheat" meal for the week. Now just get back on track and don;t think about it! Sorry to hear about the orchard and your DH's mood... men can be sensitive but in the wrong way!

Have a great day... I will be back tomorrow am, but then I am off until maybe Saturday, if I get a chance to post in between un-packing and re-packing! I also have to pack up the dogs to drop them off on the way to the airport Sat morning. They go to stay at the breeder's house ( who we refer as "Grandma & Grandpa"... I know silly dog people:7 .)

Hi Deb and Linny (I read your post from yesterday)--

Today I did Kimberly Spreen's Cardio Camp, with its alternating hi-lo aerobics and kickbox. I really like this one and the way the intensity builds. It's about 50 minutes of aerobics, and then I skip the legwork and do the cooldown stretch.

Wow--what a treasure of recipes for butternut squash! I am definitely going to try some of them, especially the lower calorie ones. Today, though, I'm making a soup.

I read your post about apple-picking, Linny, and noticed that you referred to "my oldest" yelling at your husband. Is your oldest child not your husband's oldest? I wasn't sure whether they were unrelated except by your marriage to your husband, or whether this was a Freudian slip. Too bad--I hate when my husband gets sulky over some imagined slight.

Talk about stupid--I spent the whole weekend studying Fanny and Alexander, and then I look at my syllabus and see that what I really assigned for this week was Apocalypse Now. So now I have to catch up and watch another long film and review my readings for it. Oh well, next weekend will be easier for me.

Enjoy your Monday ladies!

Hi Deb and Garance and Linny,

I will be running tonight. I did my usual this weekend and also I did a circuit training at a new place that just opend near me. It was good, but not as tough as Cathe.

Garance, I love squash! my favorite recipe for this is one can of mexicorn, 1 large tomato, 1 large onion and a tsp. or a cube of chicken broth. Saute everything with some olive oil add salt and pepper to taste. You do not have to add water to it because the squash has so much liquid when it is cooked. When it is done add some monterrey jack on top and mix. You can also use zucchini for this recipe.

Linny, My daughter and my husband have been yelling at each other lately. I know what you are going through, husbands do not understand teenagers.

Josie

Hi Ladies:
Deb: I'll try to start post when your gone, can't promise everyday though. After this weekend I need a pedicure. I definitely am a emotional eater. You don't want to know my menu for yesterday;(
Garance: Actually my oldest(32yrsold) is from previous marriage. My husband and he have always had a strained relationship. This has just added fuel to the fire. My daughter(31yrsold also other marriage) emailed me tonight and said after speaking with her brother and daughter more, is sounds like my husband was egging my son on trying to get into physical fight. Wanting to take the fight into woods or into the parking lot. I know my husband can get very upset and inpatient at times but it tough when my kids are involved.
I think that Kim Spreen kickboxing is sounding better and better. }(
Josie:Run like the wind.(Take me with you).My new job has a workout center that will only cost me $24 a month. I've thinking of checking it out. I did belong there 4yrs ago but they have alot more classes now.
I'll check in tomorrow.~Linny~
