I was thinking of doing this for 2days to just cleanse my system.Has anyone dn this? Or does anyone have a opinion on this? Thanks! Lori

i think it was just put out there to lose a few pounds of water weight for special occasions(like celebs getting rid of the bloat for the red carpet) but you gain it back after the diet. i never done this however,b/c i am weary of these type of products but that is just me.

I've never tried this, but, IMO, it seems to me that that stuff is just juice?? If you want to cleanse you're system, I wouldn't waste your money on their product, maybe try a day of just soups and juice..?

It has to be water weight as someone posted above...great for special occasions:7 :7 :7 ....but it will be back!!!!

I have to say that these types of diets/claims always get my underwear in a bunch. When I pass the mag's next to the checkout that say "3 easy moves to do in just 8 minutes a day and you'll have the arms/abs/butt you want!!!"...I keep thinking....sheesh...why on earth am I working for 1 1/2-2 hours per day with heavy weights and I STILL don't have what I want and to think ....."all I had to do was 3 easy moves for 8 minutes a day"....if not that then I'm sure the answer is hydroxycut right }( }( }( .

Getting a physically fit body requires clean eating and LOTS of work (meaning exercise). No pill/drink can give you that or we couldn't pay enough for it. :) :) :)

Briee (sorry...I realize this didn't help you. Hope someone can give you first hand experience.)

Edited to add....after rereading your post I realized you weren't looking to use this product to get in shape, but to cleanse. Cleansing your system IS a great way to clean out your body from all the crap that normally builds up. As someone said...the hollywood diet sounds like juice, and you could easily do the same thing without spending so much money. There are many good books on cleansing that would probably give you some other ideas. "Toxic relief" is one that my dh has used. He did a 30 day carrot juice fast once and felt like a new person post cleanse. I could never go this long...but there are definite benefits to cleansing ones system. Just be aware that you can loose some of your hard earned muscle from fasts because of the lack of protein.

If you want to try it, it's cheaper just to do watered-down juice with a powdered multivitamin in (which is basically what this is).

As others have said, you may lose water weight, but it won't stay off (in fact, I think the "fine print' or the ads advertising this stuff say that it's for losing weight for a special occasion.

If you are looking for a 'cleanse," then adding fresh veggie/fruit juices to your diet, or doing a 1-to-3-day juice fast, could serve the same purpose.

I'm kind of wary of cleansing and fasting diets in general. Your body doesn't need help in cleansing itself. That's what your intestines (which are full of good bacteria that helps get rid of harmful toxins) and your lymphatic system is designed for! If you want to make sure your bowels are empty of "what ails you" just eat lots of fruit and veggies, drink lots of water, and let your body do the rest! I also think going on a three day juice fast would throw off your body's metabolism. Not getting enough calories, nutrients, fats, etc would put it in starvation mode. Sure people may feel great after doing a cleansing for a couple of days, but who doesn't feel good after a big dump!

Don't mean to offend!

Proponents of cleansing/fasting use it to give the body a break from digestion, so the body can go to work cleaning the liver and other organs. There are so many toxic substances in our everyday life (including processed foods, prescription and non-presecription drugs, chemicals, heavy metals used in fillings, etc.) aside from the toxins created from the normal metabolic processes, that a once-a-year cleansing isn't a bad idea, IMO.

But one way one can 'detox" the body without fasting is to take chlorella, which is a good detoxer, and also binds with heavy metals and removes them from the body.

I think it's rather ironic that the people most apt to want to fast/detox are probably less in need of it than those who wouldn't even consider it (like people who exist on processed foods, and smoke, and have a more toxic lifestyle in general.

hi kathryn,

is this safe for children say around 6years old?and if so where can one purchase it?i might want to bring it up to viola's doctor next visit. i hear so many good and bad things about chelation removing metals from the body(for autistic and hyperactive children) but if this is a far safer thing i would like to give it a try rather then go the prescription route.

Hi, Kassia.
I will have to check, but I don't remember reading anything about contraindications for children. They do caution that one can have some strong detox reactions to it (headaches, nausea, the typical things when the body is getting rid of old toxins).

http://www.sequelnaturals.com/ is one manufacturer (they have a list of suppliers available, and one is www.veganessentials.com ).

thanks,i will see if her doctor has an opinion. i know the debate of metals being in the bodies of autistic children in never ending but its worth a shot for me if its safer then chelation and ritalin.

>My acupuncturist has an autistic daughter, and they do different types of therapies with her to help get the heavy metals out of her body. If you remind me, I can ask his opinion next time I see him (on alternative therapies).
