40's monthly thread until June 30th

So, I thought I could start the week with one of my favorites, 4DS kickbox. My hips (and whatever area is also working) are so tight that the sidekicks are out of the question. I tell you, each week it is something new. WTH!

Mary - yes, it has been raining. It probably rained 4 out of 7 days last week. Two of them were monsoons. More is coming.
Jody - abandoning the exercise area - it does get challenging at times. Thankfully we have lots of Wii stuff as an alternative. How old is DD?
Lisa - glad you are getting better.
Ronne - BCP is probably birth control pills.
Roxie - glad the enjoyed the lake.

Kickbox done and I had a little better workout this time used wtd gloves but there is still on confusing combination.
 
I did 3.5 mile walk jog w/ a some sprints thrown in and a little pistol practice One Legged Squat (The Pistol) « Bodyweight Strength Training « Beast Skills Dance later this eve.
Murphy, I agree, wth?
Lisa, you can give your sister all your recovery stuff when you are done!
Roxie when I was a kid my mom drove boat for my dad while he was skiing and it (the boat) ended up a few feet above the river in a tree!
Mary, we will see Superman for sure, dd into the superheros. I kinda like Thor and Tony Starke myself. I hope dd (17) tolerates pills ok and that she clears up and regulates, too! I worry about mood and stuff.
Ronne, glad you had fun catching up, even if the food wasn't good for you!
ps final exam for this semester next mon.

Jody - that looks really difficult!! I think I'll stick with my DVDs! V funny about your mum and dad!

Roxie - sometimes I think it's good not to get a DVD straight away - at least it gives you something to work on.

Murphy - that's one of my favourite Cathe kickbox. I always feel really tough doing it for some reason!

Mary - you took a rest day?!! Amazing!

Went to a clothes swap last night. Mainly a good excuse to catch up with neighbours and friends. Got a skirt and a couple of books (we threw jewellery and books in there too!).
Did KCM's Lift plus the quick body refiner and then added her extended stretch from Bootcamp.
 
Hi all! Today did a leg w/o from meso 1. Ronne, I would enjoy a clothes and book swap! Especially the book swap! Jody, the end is near! I don't think I will ever be able to master a pistol squat, I bow down to you! Murphy, good weather here, it will get to you eventually! Hope your hips are ok. Lisa, I didn't realize the stimulator was big! So much I don't know! Hope your sister wlll be more empathetic now that she is in the same boat. Hope she does well. Roxie, I tried water skiing once, I had so much trouble getting up! It's hard! Well, at least for me! DD is getting her gums done this afternoon, shes so excited! I have to give her some Valium shortly, that should be fun to watch! Have a good day, Mary
 
Good Morning,

I did KCM's Muscle Definition 1 then tried to do CK25 WK6 D2 but running was just to painful so I walked more then ran and after looking at the scale this morning I decided to go for a walk outside. We are headed to the lake this afternoon I think DH wants to ski again.

Mary-I tried skiing once to and I got up but the landing sucked. DH has been skiing since he was 5 years old so its second nature to him.
 
BM2 mash up for me today. DD 17 cracked me up yesterday, she said, "uhh, nice work out? I accidentally stepped on the soggy pile of clothes on the floor." Then later another funny snarky comment after dance when I came home w/ new dvd from walmart. Oh yeah I did. Jazzercise Burlesque - YouTube

Mary I'm still working on the pistols, not sure that I will master them but it makes me mad that I am no where close! Are you going to make a video of your dd? There seem to be a lot of viral videos of kids after dental surgery, better keep your phone handy! JK, I hope all goes well for her today and she has a speedy recovery.

Jody - you're a real BM2 fan aren't you? I still haven't got that one out again. It's on the list.

Roxie - sounds like you need to take a break from running. Don't get injured! Is there some other cardio you could do instead?
I've only tried waterskiing once, years ago. I couldn't stand up, it was so hard!

Mary - what does getting her gums done involve? Sounds scary!

Did a short workout today, just the cardio from CTX Step & Intervals. Nice to do something that didn't wipe me out.
Went to the cinema last night to see Behind the Candelabra. It was fabulous!
 
Had a bad couple of days with pain increasing from washing my hair, combing and putting in a pony tail. Something so simple is still so hard. Told DH he would have to do the washing part next time (about 5 days). DH got a setup where I can be on the computer yet in a comfie position in preparation for work next week. Hope it doesn't cause muscle soreness to increase.

Keeping short, don't want to increase any pain and I have to do some banking online before any pain increases.
 
Good morning! Today did BS CB&S. Lisa, I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. I wish there was something I could do. Sending you good thoughts. Ronne, DD did amazing! She had a "gummy" smile. They took off some of the gumline, so more of the tooth would show and shaved the bone down. It looks beautiful! She is such a trooper, not one complaint! I'd be in a ball in the corner! Jody, she did have a couple funny comments, she was staring at a door, telling me how pretty the door was! Haha! If it was a pretty door I didn't see it! My kids make fun of me buying new dvd's too! Murphy, you with your company? Roxie, have you tried the 2nd kickboxing w/o with the weights yet? Hope everyone has a good day! Mary
 
AOL done after much procrastination. I should have done wts and put in PUB but didn't want to, I tried my new Burlesque which was fun (Jr Judy Missett is a girl after my own heart) but dance is just a fun cardio event and so I finally did AOL.

Mary, happy happy for your dd.

Lisa, have you given thought to which types of moves you will be avoiding, if any, once you are clear to workout? Also, are you going to be able to work next week?

Ronne, that movie is about Liberace with Michael Douglas?

Roxie how did boat go this aft? When I was a kid we had one set of skis and one life jacket. My parents were so disappointed I didn't turn out to be a darling little skier at the age of 8. Uh maybe if I was in equipment that fit. Oh and waiting to get pulled up or after taking a face plant, floating in the mystery water with the slimy bottom, gators and snakes. ugh! I'd probably like to try it now but back then it just felt like : (

Good Evening,

We went to the lake today to windy for skiing but the fishing was good. I did the abs from Oxygen magazine while laying on the back of the boat but that was it I have had a migraine all day and the sun didn't help much and the water was a little chilly.

Jody-I didn't like the face plant its like landing on concrete.

Mary-I did do the second workout with wts and I liked that one.

Lisa-sorry you are in so much pain.
 
Lisa I really hate to ask but would it be possible for you to put the new James Pattersons 12th of Never on your list?

Jody - yes, that's the one. I highly recommend it.

Mary - that sounds horrible! She's very brave!

Lisa - you're right not to hang around on the computer, your recovery has to come first!!

Felt like challenging myself today so did Hard Work Conditioning 2 (Patrick Goudeau). It's still as tough as every - I was hoping I might have improved!! There are just no breaks which I think is what makes it so tough. Feel very proud of myself for doing it anyway.
Doing the gymnastics run tonight - popping out to get some new gardening gloves. What a treat!!

Still have the headache so I took another one of my pills but I got smart and cut it in half. Today I will do KCM TLC2 and YBB2 so I can get caught up again.

Ronne-no I don't fish I just catch some rays and then watch him and help hold the net when he catches one.
 
Feeling pretty good today, must remember not to overdue (as in, don't wash your own hair! lol ). One day I will be able to, must be patient!

Roxie, I don't have it, have asked my book group.

Jody, I should be able to do work for 1/2 days since i can work from home. As long as people don't expect me to "chat" (ie. typing not talking on phone) too much. I have 1/2 days planned thru august. As far as moves to avoid, neurosurgeon says no restrictions, but then did say may be best to replace runnign with elliptical, etc. So, I will off hand do no running, no jumping jacks, no big plyo moves (like jumping onto step with 4 risers on each side). I kind of like having a reason not to have to do those things. :) Not sure what to sub yet, especially for stuff like 30/30 and tabatacize. I'm open to ideas :) You are so lucky to have your body do the things it is doing for you at your age (or should you really be checking into the 20's group?) :p Pistols, uh, never in a million yrs for me, now or even before. Oh, I probably will limit to not lifting toooooo heavy of weights, like maybe keep bicep curls to 15 lbs dumbbells vs 20 lbs. I've accepted it, more importantly, I know it will be awhile before I get back to cathe, once I can, I will mostly do walks with the dog. At 3 mths activities will no longer be restricted but i will take it slow.
 
Hello! I did CF this morning, hard today! Ronne, I have that movie on my dvr to watch. I will try and give it a go this weekend, when the kids aren't around! I have the first HWC, I think I have done it once! Lisa, so glad to hear you are feeling better! Be careful when you start working again. Roxie, hope your head feels better. Jody, I don't do very well with dance videos. I always feel so silly. Maybe I would do better at a dance class instead? Hi Murphy! Not much on the agenda today. I learned a valuable lesson today don't do 2 workouts when your head is hurting. I am now caught up on my workouts may try and go for a walk later.

Lisa-its ok if you don't have it I am on the wait list here at the library they only have 1 copy and it is out. I need to put money on my Amazon acct and buy it.
