On another topic, did I tell you all that when I started wearing my hair curly how a girl at work (from India) said it looked bad? Anyway, today she says it looks really nice, twice. So maybe I'm doing something right :) She liked it longer too (as do I ).

Murphy, STS, that is awesome. I've done some 1RM, but haven't actually cracked open the dvds yet. Let us know how it goes and your results. Are most of the workouts close to an hour? Is there some daily halvsie rotation out there?

Me thinks Ronne is really off to Paris or something but she didn't want to tell us, ha ha.

Kimmie, what is on tap for your next workout? I'm focusing on Intensity series for a few weeks.

Roxie, I prefer to workout early in day rather than later, but it is hard to jump in with both feet first thing in the morning.

I think I am doing PUB in the morn. My hams are tight from yesterday's PLB floor work. Oh and today while doing BC, I think I look more like a can can girl than a fighter doing some of those kick moves.

This morning I did PUB (I am learning the acronyms, yay!) and burned 186 cal. This afternoon I got on the elliptical and burned 303 calories. I plan on a lower body workout tomorrow, just have to decide on one. I'm finding that I don't like a long pause between exercises, so I'll have to see what might offer that. Dashner's books sound like an interesting read! I hope y'all have a great evening! Kimmi. :)

I think these things are a gauge or guideline, and hardly pinpoint accurate, but 411 is way more than 186. 411 seems surprisingly high. It would be fun to compare the predicted values and the actual values. (oh that is just the math weirdo in me)

I've seen others post calories burned also, does the info come from a heart monitor?
 
Hi everyone!!!

Happy New Year! I'm back!! Not that I've been anywhere apart from buried under a mountain of food and drink!! Had a great Christmas and New Year. First half was very relaxing - just the three of us with friends popping in here and there. Then second half had my parents here and they just left yesterday. Roped the parents into babysitting on NYE and DH and I went out for a Thai meal and then to the pub.
DD back at school today and me back at work. Did MMA KB to ease me back into the workouts.

Jody - no, I've not been to Paris! Believe it or not I have no holidays booked or planned at all yet!! How did the cooking for the parents go?
Re Workout Manager vs HRM stats I usually find that the WM is higher for the weights workouts and about right for the cardio.

Mary - I've obviously missed something, so good luck with dr appointment and fill me in when you can.

Lisa - hope the skiing is good and watch the knee. There is no shame in using one riser!!! We all have our strengths and weaknesses.

Hi, did disc 2. I was thinking I should have started the program in June. DH is a teacher and off during the summer so I could do meso's 2 and 3 without having to worry about getting the kids off to school (the little one is still in daycare). Oh well, I guess I could repeat STS again later - yeah, okay. :) Anyway, I think I will incorporate more of the new series into the program versus the HiiT stuff. This cold weather (14 degrees this morning) is reaking havoc on my knees. Oh, I tried those step shox things on the stepper the other night. The stepper wan't necessarily quieter, but I did feel like it had a bit more cushioning. Two sets would probably be better. Got them at WalMart for $10.

Roxie - I too like to work out in the morning (5 am). If I don't do it then, it more than likely won't get done.

Lisa - I don't get to read much of anything other than kids books.

Ronne - 40/20 was a punishment - as it is any time of the year. :)

Jody - most of STS meso 1 is about an hour. Meso 3 is longer b/c of the downtime/rest time between sets.

Kimminy - I too was wondering where you get your calories burned info, that info is really helpful.

I didn't get up early this morning I didn't sleep well so I shut my phone off so DH couldn't call me and reset the alarm clock, so tonite will be KCM Muscle Definition #1. KCM is suppose to be posting a new rotation but she must be having some problems its still not posted.

Jody-I have a hr monitor and the values are never the same.
 
Well, we didn't go skiing. DS was tired after his night of partying :p, plus spending $200 on skiing that isn't that good (a lot of show through on the icey snow) is a lot. It would be wicked tough skiing (I'm liking the word wicked because of the Dashner book I'm reading it's in my mind). then like roxie, I didn't sleep well, up from 2 to 4:30 (thank you meno) so once I went back to sleep I knew I wouldn't get up early. Sometimes sleep is more important! I'm sure Cathe would agree!

Murphy, I'll have to check out those step shox. Never heard of them before.

Hi girls! Today did 3.5 miles on TM. Saw the surgeon today, all good news, she is 99 percent sure it isn't anything to worry about. She is going to take it out, to be safe. Surgery will be next Thurs., she said only cardio for 4-6 weeks after. I can deal with that! Thank you for all your kind thoughts and words, it all means so much to me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lisa, sounds like you you made the right decision about skiing! Did you have to got to work? Ronne, glad to see you back! We missed you! I had a mammogram, they saw something, now getting it out! Roxie, good idea to sleep! Jody, you start class so soon? I go back the 16th. Kimmi, what did you do today? This morn I did PUB. Those darn flexible variable weight things just don't change quick enough. Grrr. Oh well, I got a good workout in anyway. I hit dance studio for class tonight which was pretty good, too. My flex and strength really need some work to get back to where I was a year ago. I am going to do some sort of cardio from Intensity.

Yep, classes start tomorrow. I'm just taking Speech. Supposed to be a great professor, so hopefully I will do well.

Lisa, congrats on your curl care. I am having good luck with my hair and skin lately, too. It must be some sort of trade off the Universe gives us as we deal with other decade specific issues. : >

Lisa - sounds like you made the right decision - that made me smile about your DS!

Murphy - Cathe's done a 3 month rotation combining LIS/STS if you're interested.

Roxie - does your HRM work OK? Mine drives me nuts with cardio - it doesn't pick my pulse up half the time so the stats are always off.

Jody - I've got some weights similar to yours. I always have to pause during PUB as there's not enough time to change. So what does Speech involve?

Having a pig of a day. Internet was terrible this morning and I just couldn't get my emails. It's been driving me mad. Seems to have finally sorted itself out but my day is shot. If my morning is messed up then that's my whole day gone. Aaarrgghh!! Did Kickbox Surge and punched the &*^%$%^£ out of my service provider!!
 
Today I did not want to get up but I managed to do the bonus step routine in cardio supersets. OMG, I was so tired and it is only a 20 min routine. I am going to tell myself that it was because I was so tired - not any other possible reason. Yes, let's go with that!

Jody-I hated speech class in high school I don't like to be in front of people.

Ronne-the only time I have problems is sometimes when I do floor work.

Today was AB, what a killer w/o. I don't do the pushups, I just hold a plank and I'm still winded most of the time (had to pause a couple -- ok more than a couple-- of times).

Kimmi, how's your workouts coming along? I'm trying to get back in the swing of taking my 4 10 min walks at work....everything counts!

Ronne, I HATE computer (or network) problems. Ruins my day too! Do we rely on these things too much? scary!

Murhpy, yea, it was because you were tired, I'm sure, plus you are doing STS, so a double whammy!

Roxie, what happened to the morning workouts?

Jody, speech? Uh, I don't like talking in front of people! I cursed myself with my hair, last 2 days have been over conditioned and a bit flat :( Guess I was feeling so dry I overdid it :)

Mary, how are you? I think of you everytime I use my aloe socks for some reason. I wake up at midnight with sweaty feet and have to wake up a bit to take them off because they kind of stick to my feet. My skin feels better though :)

gonna be a high of 70 today here, say whaaat? IN january?
 
Hi girls! Today did TS UB, have to get in upper body before next week! Thank you all for your kind words, they are very helpful. Roxie, I believe in sleeping in! DH can get up and work out, my body needs to wake up! I don't want to get up at 3 for my body to wake up to work out at 5! Ronne, I hope your service starts acting right, your post gave me a laugh! Murphy, you get up early to! Somedays are much harder than others! Jody, what will you be getting your degree in? I did not like speech in college! I gave a speech on how to iron a shirt! Hi girls.

Speech is just for an AA degree--IDK, don't ask...anyway it would have been a deal killer for me in my first college go around, but I'm going to do OK w/ it now. I've lead LLL meetings and performed as bellydancer and am just more confident in myself in many things. Plus, at work I find myself in front of a classroom of students going over chemistry and math problems at the board! Its almost surreal- my two hardest subjects as a youngster and now I am standing in front of groups conducting study sessions? Its really weird but feels good to be able to handle it(maybe not have fun, but it shouldn't kill me). Also, I've enjoyed my relationships with other students. No need to be afraid of them.

So I did CW step portion only today since I am DOM'd out from previous Intensity workouts this week. Tomorrow will be CW in full or ME.

Mary, I should have attended your speech on how to iron a shirt, it might be a good life skill for me to have. : ) Between your penchant for floor cleaning and now this ironing thing, I see that you must have some mad domestic skills.
