How to know what to eat if vegan is the goal?

Maverick: > > > No wonder why people think vegetarians are nutcases. You >preach people to be vegans and all so what's the diff. with my >posting an opinion? Besides, vegan or not, people still get >sick anyway. I don't even eat meat everyday but I don't think >vegans are the healthiest...

    advice

I have both CMAX and C&W, but I confess that I haven't gotten a chance to try C&W out yet. However, I believe that others have cited C&W as the "younger, gentler sister of CMAX." I hope others will chime in here and correct me if I'm wrong, but I also think that C&W includes heavier upper body...

    Ya know what just stinks????!!!!........

I hear ya! That's why I refuse to own or buy a scale. I use my clothes as a gauge and find that I'm much happier when I can see and "feel" results than read them in numbers. I admit, though, if I'm over at someone's house and they have a scale, I just can't resist weighing myself - and it...

    PowerMax is still pure magic!

Power Max was my very first Cathe and I agree, it's an awesome workout! I confess that I haven't done it in a while because I've been addicted to my newly acquired Intensity Series DVDs, but I do intend to pull it out sometime in the near future! :-)

    Mini Step or Stool

I just use a regular dining room chair (17") and place the top riser of my step in front of it if I want to drop it down to 13". This works fine for me, so I doubt that I will invest in a mini step (need to use that cash for more Cathe videos!!!) ;-) And no, yo do not need a medicine ball...

can i jump right into using cathes?

I'm someone who DID jump right into Cathe workouts, and I don't regret it at all. Power Max was my first Cathe tape, and although I was completely new to stepping, I just kept up with her as best as I could, listened to my body and modified when needed, and eventually learned the trickier moves...

    PUB biceps...omg!

Susan, I do exactly that, except I switch from 15 to 12 mid-set (15 for hammer curls and 12 for regular curls) and then go to 10 and 8. Last time I did it, though I did 10 and then 10 again (sloooowly working my way up to Cathe on those!!!)

    floorwork order question

I've noticed that in both PS/LA and PLB Cathe does standing leg work BEFORE floorwork, and was wondering if there is a specific reason for that order? I've read in other posts that doing lower body isolation exercises (for the glutes, etc.) BEFORE doing squats, lunges, and leg presses enables...

    new to cathe vids

If you're looking for Cathe cardio that doesn't require a step, I'd second the above suggestions for Cardio Kicks and Boot Camp. One way to intensify the cardio aspect of Boot Camp (only with the DVD, however) is to do the "Everything But Core" Premix, and then do "Core Only" at the end. That...

    Exercise Mats

Hi Normany, I got a really nice thick mat from Dick's Sporting Goods and I think I paid around $35-40 for it. They had a cheaper one at about $20, but I liked this one better because it was longer (just under 6') and MUCH thicker. It also has straps attached so you can roll it up and velcro...

    buy stability ball

I got mine off E-Bay - brand new in the box w/ a pump and video. There are SO many to be found there (and for a lot cheaper than you'd find in a store), so I would definitely check E-Bay out! I'd suggest getting one that comes w/ a pump, and also, make sure it is the right size for your...

    Winsor Pilates? Anyone tried it?

Redrocks, Yes, I have the Winsor Pilates set, and if you're new to Pilates, I would definitely recommend it. I've added a few other videos to my collection, such as Hilary Burnett's Mind-Body-Mat, Stott Advanced Matwork, and Quick Fix Pilates for Abs (w/ Keli Roberts) - but I still incorporate...

    First Cathe video?

My first Cathe video was Power Max, and I still love it. Circuit Max came next, followed closely by IMAX and Power Hour. My Cathe purchasing soon took on a massive snowball effect, and I have so many of them now that I'm having trouble fitting them in the entertainment center!

    ? re: pulled glute muscle

Deborah, Thanks again for answering my questions & I hope YOUR glutes are feeling better as well! I don't have the Intensity Series yet, but am hoping to get them as a graduation present (I keep dropping hints to my husband!). Take care & thanks for your help! Sarah :)

    ? re: pulled glute muscle

Thanks, Deborah. You're right, that's something I did NOT want to hear, but it's better than further injuries, right? Did your daughter have any recurring trouble at all after it initially healed? Did she find that doing anything in particular (in addition to NOT doing anything to "feel" the...

    ? re: pulled glute muscle

I'm just wondering if any of you have found yourself in a simliar stuation, and what you did about it: I pulled one of the muscles in my glutes last week on the day I did Carido Kicks and (later that pm) Angles, Lines, & Curves II. I've looked at all sorts of muscle charts, etc. and can't...

    PS Upper Body question

Cathe, If I want to do PS/CST and PS/BBA on the same day, what is the best way to go about it? Should I do one video right after the other (which on first?), or should I switch back and forth between the body parts on both tapes (ie: chest-back-shoulders-biceps-triceps). I only have them on...
