Questions for Lift, Move & Restore 2 Elevated - Questions??

I haven’t used any functional or balance workouts that move at warp speed or use heavy weights. I’m not sure this is the type of challenge that would work best for me. A slower more deliberate move can be harder and executed with better form while still providing a good challenge.

It’s nice to read over the feedback that has been given here.
At the risk of repeating some of what I said earlier I just wanted to make clear that I did find a purpose for LMR in my rotation.

I like that Cathe offered LMR it was the right series for me at the right time. I’ve been working out for many years but like many people as I’ve gotten older there have been life events or injuries that have derailed my efforts. I have found my favorites among the series and I’m not disappointed but for me their use is limited to certain times and now I want a challenge that will that goes beyond fitness injury and restarts. I’m sure I will come back to LMR at times but I probably will never use them for too long.

I’ve been working out for a very long time & I bounce back fairly quickly. But I am older and even if I am consistent I’m not the same as I was at 20 something. Since my body is going through the normal aging process I could benefit by being proactive and doing more functional fitness with balance work. But the workouts still need to be challenging enough to keep my interest or they won’t get used. I tend to workout for a shorter time now and I want to get the most bang for the time I do workout. I’m hoping LMR Elevate fills this need.

I’m sure Cathe will make many people very happy with this new series. I’ve been a Cathe customer since the very early years and I feel she always puts in 100%. I’ve decided to trust in LMR Elevate and even though I’m downsizing I look forward to the final product.

Announcing Cathe's Newest Series: Lift, Move & Restore 2: Elevated!
Functional Training for the Actively Aging Lifestyle

Hi Everyone,

I'm so excited to announce my newest series Lift, Move & Restore 2: Elevated! Functional Training for the
Actively Aging Lifestyle.

Functional training is coming back to play once again! The response to the original Lift, Move & Restore series was overwhelmingly positive, so
this time around we're going to light a little fire under our functional training routines with slightly heavier weights, tougher challenges, and the addition of calorie busting cardio!

This new elevated sequel to the Lift, Move & Restore series will
not only give newer exercisers something to grow to after mastering the original series, but it will also have a vibe all its own to challenge experienced exercisers while also focusing on the balance, mobility, flexibility, and endurance training that we need for longevity!

I went back to read the announcement on Cathe’s site and this addresses my concerns. I’m going to rely on this statement. However, I am glad I was allowed to give my feedback.

I’ve never used downloads and don’t know if I’ll use the one’s being offered to people who preorder. I certainly understand if no cancellations would be allowed if people do download but this should be clarified so there is no backlash. Maybe this is addressed somewhere and I wouldn’t be surprised since I obviously didn’t read this announcement very carefully

Thanks for listening :)

And I expected them to be more difficult and had planned to forego their use initially.
I find the balance disc moves difficult. But then I have really bad balance, especially when standing on my right leg. I also find my standing leg gets quite sore during the exercises, especially in my foot and hip. But, like you and others, I did think they would be used more in the LMR series.

Having OnDemand means I don't have to make a decision about whether or not to purchase a new series. I also don't tend to follow rotations. I've been doing LMR workouts off and on since it came out but also sprinkle in Lives and other workouts I've blended. A lot of my workout decisions are based on how I feel that day and how much time I have available.

I can totally understand the need for more clarification on this series though. For those who are looking at purchasing the series and feel that LMR didn't quite live up to expectations, a better understanding of what this new series will offer is important. Also, agree there needs to be clarification regarding the weight workouts that will be released in the interim and what it means if someone cancels the purchase after they have downloaded a weight workout. Those looking at purchasing the workouts need to be able to make a fully informed decision.

I want to thank everyone who has participated in this thoughtful discussion. I appreciate the shared perspectives!

Debinmi, I agree that one shouldn’t have to do an entire rotation to see if a series would work for them. I also agree that if it’s clearer what a series will be during the preorder period, then people are less likely to be disappointed.

I would have preferred a differently focused series rather than LMR 2 to offer variety for my (embarrassingly extensive) Cathe collection. For me, I want to be challenged and have the ability to grow with and continue to challenge myself over time as I do a series. That doesn’t mean “puke in a bucket” intensity, it just means that I have the flexibility to “modify up” or “modify down” as needed without redoing the whole workout or buying an entirely new series. LMR brought down the intensity/challenge too many notches down to fit this bill, IMHO.

I’m having a bit of a chuckle here. My fitness level is advanced intermediate to advanced depending on what I’m doing.

LMR actually made me stronger when I’ve pulled in some of my favorite exercises. Fluidity pull-ups, full hanging triceps dips, Callanetics open closes and flat backs.

I’m able to do the 12 lunges off the back of the box with a front leg lift to navel level, no touching the box when I come up all 12 one side then 12 on the other side. My knee almost kisses the floor in the lunge.

So many people seem scared to death of losing their fitness level. It amazes me.

Well as time goes, and more thoughts posted, I am now wondering if I “jumped to fast”
I have been perfectly content holding off on ordering until more info/clarification was
given, but with the presale ending so soon, I did want to take advantage of the best
price possible…..as far as the downloads go, I am not really even thinking about them.
Since I have OnDemand too, they have indicated that those will appear there.
I have not ever cancelled a preorder, but I won’t hesitate to, if as info/clips are
shown, I see that these won’t be something for me.

Lannette, I’m very happy that LMR has worked so well for you! Your opinion is valid and I believe the responses here have been respectful whether they agree or not. However, I must have missed the posts where people said or implied that they were ‘scared to death’ of losing their fitness level and I’m not sure where that comment came from?

aqua girl, I get wanting the best price! This presale has been so quick that I’m hoping for more info before it’s over.

Yes, this is way too early for all this stress I‘ve been feeling….:). The presale started
Feb. 21? When has it ever been only a few days over a month? I ordered now
because in the next 10 days internet could be out, etc., and with my internet, which as
a rule works fine, you just never know & that would have been my luck!

I've never canceled a pre-order before either, ever, whether for Cathe, CIA, KCM or whomever. But I could as long as it's clear I still can despite those bonus downloads. Then I could lock in the best pricing of $5.33/workout counting those downloads. Oh, heck, I've wasted money on other things .... ha ha ha. But seriously, I try not to waste $; my frugality allows me the pleasure of purchasing Cathe workouts .... so do I  really have a dilemma? LOL o_O

I could have written your post haha! My angst isn’t gone, however. :D

Hazlady, you are definitely not alone in finding that balance work challenging! The disc segments were hands down the most valuable for me in the LMR series.

I'm sorry if my thinking-things-through online has contributed to your stress
Oh no, not at all! I stress myself ! (As many of you know) :):)…. I was hoping that my stress wouldn’t start again, until they ship! :). I’ll see, and not going to worry about it
at the moment, I know I can cancel if I want. I have OnDemand, so why do I always
preorder the dvds….. I like having backups…..and then I was thinking how many more
Lives I could purchase for that $. :). Hopefully all this will be addressed……Sooner than
later.

Repost someone saw on Facebook:

Hi Everyone!

With the recent announcement of the current presale price ending on the upcoming Lift, Move & Restore 2: ELEVATED! series I’ve received some questions regarding the intensity of the new workouts and how they will compare to the original Lift, Move & Restore series.

The new ELEVATED series will take the functional training foundation laid by the original series and will elevate the challenge level with higher intensity, slightly heavier weights ranging from 5-15 pounds, and an even greater focus on elements like balance, flexibility, and strength.

With the addition of heart-pumping cardio and heavy-weight training bonus workouts (for those of you who pre-order), this series will include all the key ingredients to keep us working hard and earning lasting results!

The workouts in this series will be easily adjustable for those who are not quite ready for the challenges presented, but will also be challenging for those who are at a higher fitness level and still wish to work specifically on their functional fitness abilities to assist in setting us up for long-term health and longevity.

I can’t wait to dig deeper into functional training with all of you! We still have a lot to explore, and we’ll do it together!

Didn't see answers to these questions:

The cardio is low-impact, however, what will be the intensity level? Will these be mostly steady state or will there be some intervals and higher intensity?

Will the 4 bonus-download weight workouts be chaptered? Will they be filmed in your studio or in the gym like a LIVE? How are they split? Are they "express" workouts? Does the offer of these bonus workouts expire after the price increase?

But she hasn't given a breakdown - will they be total body? Upper/Lower splits? A 3-day split with a TB? Or a 4-day split?

How long will they be? 20 minutes? 30? 40? 50-60?

Also can't tell from this response whether the bonuses will be available later as separate downloads.
True, but they've never offered the free download Glutes & Guns or whatever it was, that was free w/calendar
order as a download to purchase now. Matter of fact, I don't believe I have ever seen any comments about
it from ones that got it, 30 m, 40m, in studio, in gym, great workout, ok workout........

oh well @Debinmi I love it. I believe I have done three times from my usb.

When LMR was released, I had just had surgery. Being head surgery, it was recommended to do zero movement since I couldn't really modify (I use my head for every movement!) But being an excited Cathlete, I couldn't resist just checking LMR out (disclaimer time: ok, not recommended, but was fine for me).

I did a full week of a homemade LMR rotation and found myself upping the weight. For that moment in my journey, the LMR workouts were perfect as I was healing. After that week, I went to finish my STS rotation (interrupted by the surgery) and it was way too hard since I wasn't fully healed; I went back to only LMR for a week and upped the weights again. I then did a 4 week STS 2.0 + LMR homemade rotation and it was nice to compliment the harder STS 2.0 days with the easier LMR days. I was still healing.

I am now doing a homemade STS 1.0 rotation with LMR 12 week rotation, but it is better defined as a full STS 1.0 rotation with LMR sprinkled in daily as "doubles". This, for me is where I will use LMR and I enjoy it with benefits. I often do my regular (i.e. harder) workouts every morning and love to get some easier movement in at the end of the day for about an hour and LMR fits the bill for me.

I am looking forward to LMR 2.0, and I am guessing it will also be used as a "doubles" for me and I am perfectly fine with that.

This is a great thread and discussion!
