When to measure?

Should I step on the scale before or after workout? Usually my scale shows 2-3 lbs less after workout. That’s because I lose water during my workout. Is my real weight the one that I see before workout?
Once I measured myself everyday and there were days when I gained 5-6 lbs and two days later I lost it. So, which is the real number?
If I measure myself weekly, how do I know the scale will not show 5-6lbs. Two days later.
I’m trying not to rely on the scale this much, but unfortunately I’m obsessed with it.

The main thing is to be consistent in the time you weigh yourself, so you're comparing apples to apples. I wouldn't think right after your workout would be the best time, because if you're more intense one day than another, you may not sweat as much.

Personally, I like to weigh myself right after rolling out of bed and going to the bathroom. I get the lowest number that way, LOL. I don't weigh more than weekly, either. Differences in day to day weight can fluctuate so much depending on what you ate, drank, etc. Water retention!
