Weight Watchers and BC

Good morning!

I just started WW last Friday. I do BC on Sundays and I was just wondering how to count my points for that?

Thanks!

Hi!

Great question! I just started WW myself last Saturday! I would love to know, from those who have been doing WW, what kind of activity points you earn from doing any of Cathe's different workouts. If there is someone who knows this it would be great to have a list off all workouts with corresponding point values. Is that possible? Or would everyone perceive that differently?

:) :)

I've been doing WW since Sept. 2003. I believe in Week 3 of WW, you will receive information on calculating activity points. There is an AP slider and AP are based on your weight, workout intensity (light, moderate, and high), and time spent.

I use a heart rate monitor which calculates my calories burned. The rule of thumb is 100 calories burned = 1 AP. I actually count 1 AP for every 75 calories burned since food points are generally between 50-75 calories. I usually burn around 400 calories for workouts like Boot Camp, Step Blast, Imax2 and give myself about 4-5 AP for those workouts. I weigh 151 lbs. Of course, calories burned are different for each person.

Hope this helps some... Good luck with WW. It's a great program. I've lost 65 lbs on it.

Thanks for the information Michelle!

I signed up for the online will I receive these items? Will I get the books or do I have to buy those?

Thanks again!:)

I think most intense 1 hour workouts ususually count between 4-7 pts, depending on your size and fitness level. You really aren't supposed to eat more than 4 AP's a day anyway, so you would be pretty safe counting 4 on the days that you get a good workout.

I've been a WW Lifetime member forever.

You can access the AP points calculator by clicking on the Points Calculators link on the left side of the WW online screen. It will come up with the food points value calculator. You then click on the tab that says Activity Points Values. You will get a screen where you can enter your weight, time spent, and intensity level.

I don't think there is a limit on how many AP you can eat during the day. The new WW materials say something along the line that you shouldn't earn more than 4 AP without discussing with a fitness professional. From the discussions I've read on the WW boards, the reason WW put the 4 AP statement out there is so that new members don't go overboard on physicial activity so that they can eat more.
