Wow! That was a super tough choice. All of those books sounds fascinating. I'll be interested to see which one wins out, though I'm tempted to read them all. :7

I've already read The Kite Runner, and it's become one of my all time favorites. When will the book club begin? Sorry if I missed that thread...

Hi Kerrie,

Hopefully we will all want to delve into the book we choose. If something other than The Kite Runner is picked, join us. Or if it is picked, discuss The Kite Runner with us, and then we will vote on another title.

Hey, that was a tough choice! But now at least I have two books to pick up for the drive to Arizona next weekend!

I kept meaning to post my favorite books on Jes' original thread - and "Middlesex" is definitely on my favorites list. That was an amazing book. If we don't read it for this bookclub book (I'd gladly re-read it!) I highly recommend it to everyone.

I vote Stone Diary (ies) b/c it is the only one that doesn't seem really serious. I have read A Lot of serious stuff lately and i am ready for some laid-back-ness:+

I want to read the Kite Runner.

I read Middlesex - good but weird.
Read Stone Diaries - Loved it! That would be a good choice.

I am voting for the Samurai's garden because I too have already read The Kiterunner:-( It was an excellent book however. Maybe we can have two book clubs. It looks like the Kiterunner is winning but there appear to be several here who have already read this book and several others who want to read something else. What do you think?

Micki,

That is a great idea. I am going to stick with The Kiterunner if it wins, because I haven't read it yet, but please discuss it with us when we are finished. I forgot that so many people read it already.

Also Micki, if the girls don't start right away with the reading of the book, I am always willing to read something else and discusss. It doesn't take me long to get through a book, especially if it is really good. :)
