Tosca Reno and Robert Kennedy?

I just picked up Oxygen's Glutes mag. Have Tosca and Robert been married for a long time? Am I the last person to know they got hitched?!?!

I found the Eat Clean Cookbook yesterday too -- at Costco for less than $10!

I agree! I can't stand in her cookbook where she says "Oxygen magazine is a must!" without disclosing the relationship. Also, I picked up a recent copy of Oxygen (maybe a Fat Burning special issue??) and literally the only ads in it were for various supplements and Tosca's books! WTH? I wanted my DD to read the magazine, but I threw it away because of the all the questionable supplement ads promising rapid wt loss, super metabolism burning etc. Isn't that kind of oxymoronic, "Eat clean but take this magic pill"? I was really turned off by that.

Calling Beavs, Beavs, where are you Beavs??}(

Personally, I find them both condescending jerks. And Oxygen has gone from being a decent source of info for us fitness minded gals, to one big advertisement for Tosca and all the companies supplements.Yuk.
I guess its their magazine so they can do what they want, but I don't have to buy it.

I don't really think she has deceived anyone. It seems like she or he is always mentioning the other. And come on if your husband had a magazine wouldn't you want him to promote you? I just ignore it if it bothers me.

Yes, I'd promote my DH's magazine and SAY he was my DH, not omit that rather important fact as it makes the recommendation a teensy bit less objective.

I feel....violated. Seriously, I had no idea and it just seems underhanded to me not to at least mention it.

That's what I mean it IS mentioned all the time.

I enjoyed the Eat Clean Diet book. It wasn't earthshattering, but it was a good reminder to eat better.

I don't buy Oxygen anymore, because I too tired of all the supplement ads. But, for inspiration, I did pick up the Fat Loss issue at the beginning of the year, and then bought Glutes on Friday (again, looking for motivation).

The sheer volume of ads for the Eat Clean books was a bit much, but I didn't see mention of the marriage until I read the Glutes mag. Suddenly the light bulb went off!!

Then I thumbed through the Eat Clean Diet Cookbook (my mom bought it for me on Saturday), where she referenced him in the dedication.

Both special issues, btw, had too many supplement ads. As previously mentioned, I find it off-putting and contradictory. I guess I'll continue to skip the regular magazine.

I have every issue of Oxygen Magazine just about and Tosca does mention her husband a lot but she never really said who her husband is until sometime last year, that is why I felt a little decieved. I still like Oxygen magazine and I take out all of the the ads.

No, just Robert Kennedy the publisher of Oxygen Magazine (among others). He is a 70-year-old gym rat.

He is 70 years old? Wow, I had no idea. How old is Tosca, 50? Dirty old man, robbing the cradle! LOL.

>It would be more amusing if Ted Kennedy owned Oxygen :7 (He's
>not so Camelot....)

I now have this image in my head of Ted Kennedy in a leotard and leg warmers, a la Jane Fonda circa 1986! Must purge the image...is it too early in the day to starting drinking?? :D

Oh and thanks for the opportunity to use "a la" and "circa" in the same sentence. That was fun. :p
