Hi fellow Cathletes,
Our friend's daughter was recently diagnosed with a rare and inoperable form of brain cancer and we need your help. We're not asking for any money. We just need a few minutes of your time to write a letter. To give you some background, a little before Thanksgiving the family discovered that Gabriella had a brain tumor and that it's the size of a walnut. She is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy (and will need to continue chemotherapy for a year). She qualifies for the Make-A-Wish foundation and when she's finished with her treatment her wish is to visit Paris. Not being the kind of child to only think of herself and receiving she is finding a way to give back by helping to raise $1 dollars through a letter writing campaign (she is also involved with a few other volunteer projects but this is the big one). If Macy's receives 1 million "Dear Santa" or "My Wish for the World" letters the company will donate $1 million to the Make-A-Wish foundation and more children will be able to have their dreams come true.
Macy's has agreed especially for Gabriella to count not just letters to Santa, but also "My wish for the world" letters addressed to Mr. Macy at R.H. Macy. This should make it even easier for public schools and people of different faiths to participate as well.
Again, we are not asking for money! All we need is a moment of your time & there are even templates for letters on a webpage that was set up by another of the family's friends to make it easier for everyone to participate!! You can see those here: Make-a-Wish with Gabriella Info Center.
The letters need to be received by Dec 22 as the family plans on bringing it to the local Macy's on Dec 23.
The story has received some press recently too so that you can read some background of this courageous little girl:
Thank you for your help... every letter counts so get your kids, parents, friends, local businesses, co-workers, and neighbors involved!! Our family is sitting down to write our letters tonight before dinner (tonight is one of the few nights where we'll all be gathered around the table at the same time)!
Please send your letter to:

I hope everyone has a very happy holiday season!
