Hi all,

I was curious to find out if anyone had tried
this product by dr.murad. I saw the infomercial this weekend.
It says is doesn't use benzoxyl peroxide because it dries out skin.
I looked up the website and some of the ingredients are
retinol and sulfur and salicyic acid.

www.acnecomplex.com

If anyone has any personal experience with it that you could share that would be appreciated. For me, proactiv worked the best but
it also thinned out my skin and made it dry.

Thanks,
Sham

I have tried Dr. Murad's products in the past, but not this particular product(s). I think those ingredients will definitely work. I like Proactiv too, but I do find that salicylic acid works just as well for me. Like any acne program, consistency is key. You must do it every night/day. That was the part I was bad about. :)

Sham, if you like scrubs, I love Neutrogena's "Deep Clean" gentle scrub. It's inexpensive and works great. I also like Neutrogena's "Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish" lotion. It has salicylic acid and retinol and is probably a lot cheaper than Murad's. :)

Hi Sham,

I don't have any information about Murad, but I love this website:
www.dermadoctor.com
I developed adult onset acne after going through menopause and the dermadoctor site was a big help. It's actually run by a dermatologist and if you have questions you can email them and they will answer you. The doctor herself answered one of my questions. You can find a lot of information and they have a variety of product lines to choose from, but they do not carry Murad. I've been very pleased with their knowledge and service. HTH

If you've started going through your midlife "change", I'd try a natural progesterone cream...Sometimes it IS just little midlife hormonal changes...

Don't EVER use a scrub on acne...If your skin is irritated, it only will make things worse!!

Try a clay mask once or twice a week, to pull out any impurities...

Make sure you wash your face right after working out...Sweat opens pores, and makes it the perfect time to cleanse...Also, once your pores cool off and start to close up again, do you want sweat trapped in there?

Wash pillowcases more often than you wash your sheets...I use a pillowcase one night, then flip it...After 2 nights, it's in the washer...

Have you changed your skincare or cosmetics recently? Maybe your skin isn't happy about the change!

After having cystic acne for 10 years, I've been blemish free for 8 months now...These are things I was taught, and they work!

Thanks for the advice MJ. Good advice about cleansing after working out. Usually I just wash my face with cold water. Besides the progesterone cream are there any new products that you are using that work for you?

Personally, what works best for me (37 yrs old) is hypoallergenic soap and water - I use Neutrogena. But most importantly, I have to avoid nearly all junk food. I've been on a shameful binge the past few days and am now paying for it. When I clean up my diet, the acne disappears.

To be honest with you, I'm an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International...No, I'm not trying to sell, so please don't think I'm spamming the board...But, I AM using their Bio Matte line, and am totally in love with it...

If you need any further information, you can e-mail me off post, or check out my website www.northernlights.myarbonne.com I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have...

Once again, if someone takes offense to me answering that question, I apoligize in advance...
